JardyOfSuburbia Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Drove to New York City to see the AI Musical. That was about an 8-9 hour drive. We left Kent, Ohio at night, got to NYC in the morning, went to the show at night and drove back to Kent the next morning. Best road trip ever. As far as concerts, Pittsburgh which is only about two hours.
HolyHandGrenade Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 I live 25 minutes away from Allstate Arena where I saw them last Thursday.
Hermione Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Only ever a two hour train ride to London. But one of the times was a last minute decision to go without knowing whether I'd get tickets or not only a few hours after the show was announced so I think that counts for something
X-Kid-X Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 On June 1st I will be going to my first concert ever with a good friend of mine. We live in Israel, and the show is in London. We're taking a flight that stops in Ukraine and from there a flight to London. There we need to stay in some crappy hotel. No complaints though I would travel much more than that for Green Day.
LazyPhil Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 On April 1st I'm going to LA Sports Arena and I live in Orange County so it's gonna be a pretty long journey! I'm gonna use public transportation.
eastbayweirdo Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 I've gone from Houston, Tx to LA to see them. Later this month, I'll be going to Berkeley to see them. Distance doesn't matter when you're going somewhere fun!
LisaBJA Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 I'm from Luxembourg and I will travel to Milan to see Green Day, which is after my Math Exam
San Miguel Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 So far the furthest I have travelled is to Paris (from Norfolk in the UK) but in less than two weeks (fuck yeah!) I will be travelling to Berkeley and then LA to see them.
PanicAttack! Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Took a trip to London last August, and I'm repeating the success this summer. To just go away for a weekend by yourself with nothing specific to do except seeing a concert and wandering around is almost like some kind of therapy. A couple of years ago I wanted to experience following them for a whole leg of a tour to see alot of new places and alot of Green Day shows, but just to do it once in a while feels satisfying aswell and it's not nearly as expensive. I have promised myself that I will see them on their home turf of California one day though, but that's a completely different price range.
Sarahnade Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 I always see them in and around Chicago which is a 2.5 hour drive for me from where I live in Michigan. This time I saw them in Rosemont AND Moline which took me a total of 4.5-5 hours on the way home.
westendriot Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 I flew from Michigan to New York to see them at Irving Plaza last fall but this summer I'm going to see them in Vienna, London, Rome, and Bologna haha.
Annie, get your gun Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 I can't remember the distance I travelled for my first concert, but I know it was far
Slave To The Network Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 I've gone from Houston, Tx to LA to see them. Later this month, I'll be going to Berkeley to see them. Distance doesn't matter when you're going somewhere fun! Unfortunately, expense does. I would go to every Green Day concert coming up in the states if I had the money to travel. I went from Seattle to New York City to see Billie Joe play St. Jimmy on Broadway. Does that count? Plus it was the first time I traveled by plane by myself. The Green Day concert I saw on the 21CB tour was only like a half hour away.
greendepent Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Well, I traveled almost 2500 km from my home in Chile, to see them in Argentina in 2010. After that, I'd go back to Santiago to see them again... if I had not lost my document in the gig. Stupid me. Well, at least enjoy the show
Yaz. Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 I saw AI on Broadway by luck in April 2010 when I went there for my 18th birthday. Furthest to a show has been Berlin. I was excited to see the city, but I had no idea it would be in a fucking forest in the suburbs so I barely got to see any of it because I camped (and got about a million mosquito bites) This year I think the furthest is gonna be Italy.
porksoda Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 I live 45 minutes from LA, which is where I usually see them play. But before they rescheduled the tour, I was planning on driving to Vegas. I honestly don't know how some people can afford to fly and drive all over to see them, especially the younger fans.
Skull_Throne Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 I drove 12 hours in a single sitting to El Paso, TX (from Houston, TX) for the Tricky Falls show. When I got to my hotel room that night I found out I'd won tickets to the SXSW show. I ended up driving home that night (again in one sitting) due to not being able to find a hotel near Austin. The next day I got up at 6am, drove to my friends, picked him up and drove 2 1/2 hours to Austin for the documentaries and the show. Drove back home that evening. I think I drove something like 30 hours or so in less than a week.
mad hatter. Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 I live in Connecticut and just went and saw them in Chicago Granted, i spent my whole spring break there and treated the week as a vacation, but them being there played a huge roll in me going.
beejeezee Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 30 minutes to see them in Tempe. I don't think any of you can top that distance.
jake7722 Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 About 10 minutes! What a far distance! Seriously though, Tricky Falls (where they played) is literally 10 minutes from my house!
armatage Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Haven't yet seen them, but my trip to Estonia will take approximately 10 hours.
JackInABox86 Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 I traveled half an hour on a bus outside my door lol I live in east london, and I saw them at the o2 in 2009, so yeah piece of piss haha
ChelseaDagger Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 I'll be getting on a 5 hr flight next week to see them
gdpony Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 From Honduras to Costa Rica, only show I've been to!
