DirtyRottenForgotten Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 I'm fine with no Good Riddance or 21 Guns. I just really want Wake Me Up When September Ends back.
Aaron South Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Just bring back Billie Joes acoustic encore in general. That should cover it. 21 Guns Drama Queen/Amy/Spontaneous Medley of Older Tracks Wake Me Up When September Ends Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life) Done.
Certified Nimrod Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 They've also abandoned good riddance. Now that really pains me. Lazy Bones is definitely one of my favorites, but I'm not getting my hopes up for it. I'm pretty sure that is a song Billie doesn't even want to think about now. And I know I've mentioned this a lot in the tour threads, but I'm so mad about them getting rid of Good Riddance. So, so mad. I actually kinda like this new setlist but it's kind of a shock not having Good Riddance anymore. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tR0MMrppt9gGuys, they HAVE played Good Riddance on this tour. I know for sure they played it in Philly, at least.
Awesompawsome Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Misery, where art thou? You can't miss what you never had
DoodleBob Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Guys, they HAVE played Good Riddance on this tour. I know for sure they played it in Philly, at least. We posted those replies before they played Good Riddance live on tour, though. The video you linked was a concert that took place in April, we posted those replies in March.
musso_kn Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tR0MMrppt9g Guys, they HAVE played Good Riddance on this tour. I know for sure they played it in Philly, at least. It's not a regular closer anymore. That's the problem.
Tubbie Head Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 21 Guns was actually an amazing song live, it was so beautiful, but mostly because of the lightning and led screens used on the 21st CBD tour! So I'm not too sad to see it go, I'd rather hear the new trilogy songs (as everyone else).
alienlifeform Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 it can stay out of the sets for the rest of Green Day career that I won't miss it
Beathe. Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Don't like 21 guns, so I don't really care. They have given out so many album, they can't keep playing the same songs all the time. I'm not bothered with them taking Good Riddance of the setlist either.
Iain Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 I can't help but think "big deal". The reason being, as much as I really love 21 Guns, I don't mind this. I'd really like to hear it, but I'd be happy to hear something else. and while they're not playing as much of the Trilogy as they should, I'm hoping this is enough reason for the change. Either that or music that hasn't had enough playtime...LETTERBOMB MUCH? I've forgotten I said this: and how ironic, Letterbomb was part of a lot of setlists. This pleases Iain.
AfterShock Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Not gonna lie, I was a tad disappointed not to hear 21 guns, WMUWSE, or Good Riddance live...but there are so many great things about the new setlist -99 Revolutions is a fantastic opener, and would be incredible if everyone would sing along. -I FUCKING LOVE THAT LETTERBOMB IS A STAPLE NOW. Favorite song -It's badass to hear Holiday and BOBD back to back like they should be. -They should never change the encore being opened by AI/JOS...so much energy it's unbelievable I could go on and on, but when you're at a show it doesn't really matter what they play it's just too much fun
mo1976 Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Are y'all seriously bitching about 21 Guns. .. it was a huge hit for them and at least they were getting radio time unlike now! But I do love Let Yourself Go, Nuclear Family and Rusty James! People bitch that Rusty James repeats the chorus too many times etc. Really folks I can think of a few songs that the chorus is repeated a lot on and at least VH1 played the video for 21 Guns!
Jon Herroon Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 I guess it's time to say good riddance to good riddance?
Daddy. Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 I guess it's time to say good riddance to good riddance? Nope, they have played it for the last two shows, it's played more sporadic now.
Jon Herroon Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Nope, they have played it for the last two shows, it's played more sporadic now. I know they've been playing it, I just didn't post in time for the pun to make sense. I guess the PUNch line was a little late?
Certified Nimrod Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 We posted those replies before they played Good Riddance live on tour, though. The video you linked was a concert that took place in April, we posted those replies in March. Oops. 0.o It's not a regular closer anymore. That's the problem. I see...
HolyHandGrenade Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 -They should never change the encore being opened by AI/JOS...so much energy it's unbelievable I could go on and on, but when you're at a show it doesn't really matter what they play it's just too much fun Am I the only one that cries myself to sleep about the exclusion of Homecoming? That's my all time favorite GD song, just over JOS and Scattered.
AfterShock Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 Am I the only one that cries myself to sleep about the exclusion of Homecoming? That's my all time favorite GD song, just over JOS and Scattered. JOS > Homecoming. I mean I'd love to see Homecoming live, but no way would I want it to replace JOS. Such a fantastic live song.
HolyHandGrenade Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 JOS > Homecoming. I mean I'd love to see Homecoming live, but no way would I want it to replace JOS. Such a fantastic live song. Yes, JoS is the better song, but I wish they would switch it up 1/5 times
X-Kid_88 Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 While I love 21 guns and good riddance, Im also happy to get the chance to see other songs played live. Ive seen 21 guns 3 times and good riddance 4 times. At the emirates I got to see Sassafras roots for the first time as well as some trilogy stuff. Its always nice for a change, then when they do play these songs again its like a pleasant surprise rather than routine.....kinda like the song redundant..."we're living in repetition, content in the same old schtick again" change it up lol
fromdecimateddreams Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 I do really miss Good Riddance as the closer. They closed the show in 2010 I went to with that song and, honestly, I actually cried cause it legitimiately was the "time of my life" and I just miss that feeling of hearing that song at the end of such a great show. I like the setlist for this tour overall, though. They played Who Wrote Holden Caulfield in VA and it was fantastic. However, I REALLY wish they would have played Waiting at one of the shows I went to, cause I absolutely adore that song and I've never seen it live :/
Ludwig van Beethoven Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 I would simply be happy to actually attend a GD concert no matter what they played... I never have and probably never will get the chance. So smile, and be glad you've attended/will attend a concert of theirs, and was in the presence of such awesomeness. Sure, Good Riddance was a good closer, but hey, whatever. Not everything can stay the same, and they just came out with 37 more songs to play. Something has to change.
