That Dude Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 One song to represent it all. That's tricky. .........Minority. Lonview. Letterbomb.
musso_kn Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Then they'll say something to the effect of, "Don't you mean Gay Day lulz" And these people are fully grown adults?
localinsomniac Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 And these people are fully grown adults? Some are old enough to be my dad, as sad as that is.
cherrybomb Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 Oh, that really depends on how you relate to them. For me it would be Homecoming, Nice Guys Finish Last or Dirty Rotten Bastards. (and now I think of many others, but those were first to come to my mind)
ThranaM Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Basket Case, Welcome To Paradise, and 99 Revolutions
TheNimrod51 Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Letterbomb, Macy's Day Parade, and Minority. Minority especially. It's pretty much the anthem of Green Day imo.
That Dude Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Tough to pick one for sure. Letterbomb....Longview...Jesus of Suburbia...Minority..... Letterbomb, Macy's Day Parade, and Minority. Minority especially. It's pretty much the anthem of Green Day imo. Everyone loses their mind during this song. It's the pinnacle of their set, where you're thinking, "okay. this is definitely the last song, they can't top this". and then they top it not once, but with two or more songs after it.
HolyHandGrenade Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Homecoming I was debating this with myself, and I think that although parts of Homecoming are more true to Green Day's music as a whole, JoS is too iconic and diverse (I Don't Care to Dearly Beloved) to pass up. That's the song I would suggest when recommending a GD song to a friend, because I think that Mike's and Tre's bits might confuse them. Both are great choices , though.
gd86arg Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Basket Case, Nice Guys Finish Last, Waiting, Letterbomb, Rusty James
DannyDirnt Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 There isn't a song that represents or sums up Green Day in my opinion. But Welcome to Paradise or Brat would be good to represent 90s Green Day, and for 2004-2009 Green Day Jesus of Suburbia, Homecoming or Murder City are the best to me. For the trilogy... you know there isn't a good one for all three.

For the trilogy... you know there isn't a good one for all three. For the Trilogy? I think X Kid or Missing You. They happen to be my favourites, but they sum up the sound and feel of all three I think.Converted my Mum! Ha ha. I sent her the Youtube link for Rocky Sings for Billie and she thought it was so adorable she started clicking on other Green Day clips. Luckily she clicked on 21 Guns live and Basket Case live. I told her to stop after that. She's old.
Marko Knezevik Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Green day - green day! I think that this songs represents green day the most, because the only reason they're called green day is weed, and this song is like "gravity bong", whenever you hear it, you get completely fucked for a week x) Peace (:
Cath Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 i'd say minority because they don't give a damn about people's opinion on them
Lacky Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 I think that the most "green dayous" song of the new era is Missing You. But if you say me what song represents most them, I must say Waiting!
Chelsee Angevine Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Wide range of opinions here! It's probably been said, but it depends on the decade. I'd say something like Basket Case for their earlier years, since every song was about smoking pot and feeling insane. Nowadays it's probably something like 99 Revolutions (and I don't even like that song) because their songs are loud but with political edge.
KyleTheManwhore Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 There are a lot of people I know that don't know any Green Day songs. I guess I'd have to mix an album together to show them what Green Day really are! I'd put: Green Day Basket Case Sassafras Roots Hitchin' a Ride Armatage Shanks Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) King For a Day American Idiot Static Age Brutal Love Nuclear Family Oh Love Stray Heart Jesus of Suburbia on it!
