MTV uses google capcha system which was designed to help digitize books (http://www.google.com/recaptcha/learnmore). So when you get capcha, there're two words - one is more clear and well-written (it comes from a book) and another is all distorted and hard to read - it's the capcha itself. You can skip well-written word and capcha still will work! Capcha obviously can't check the word that came from book so there's no need to waste your time writing it.

Tokio Hotel have a fanclub in many countries, even in countries never visited by the band. The fanbase is very big. Tokio Hotel can receive votes 24 hours a day because there is always atleast one fanclub somewhere voting. Lol, you can almost make a trip around the world by visiting Tokio Hotel fanclubs. Anyway, back on voting for Green Day.

Just take a look at how many "Likes" their respective Facebook pages have. Yes but GD is more known by people because a lot of their songs plays regulary on the radio. People who likes the facebbok page aren't just fan they just like the band and most of them don't give a damn about this contest. Tokio Hotel are less popular so the people liking the page are fans in majority and they are crazy about this contest.
