Met Fan Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 X Kid is the logical choice, I hope they do it. I can see a video of a 12 year old or so kid waking up, going to the bathroom to brush and wash up, then we see him putting a suit on, going to another room and wakes another kid up then goes to the kitchen and prepares a lunch box, then drives the second kid to school, heads to work where he sits in a cubical surrounded by adults working, he works and goes to a friend's house and plays video games and gets high, suddenly remembers he had to pick up the second kid -which we now know is somehow his son- from school, he goes to a different house where an adult lady, his ex-wife and the kid's mother, cusses him out for forgetting to pick up their son, the kid takes his son and drives home, goes into the bathroom to wash his face, we see his reflection in the mirror and he's actually an adult man. Something along this theme would be cool, as long as we get the band performing on the side Warning music video style.
Akshat Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 I remember during an interview about Billie saying something about making 15 Music Videos for the trilogy. They already have 7-8.So there is plenty of hope for more.X-Kid,The Forgotten,Brutal Love and 99 Revolutions deserve a large amount of Airplay and Promotion.I am adding The Forgotten to the list since it got a very good response from the critics, who called it Green Day's best song.It also charted in a few countries with being digitally released or recieving airplay. It's rather funny that Tre was this album with so many songs that could be big hits and they promoted it in the worst possible way. They should give it another chance.First thing to do is put X-Kid on digital download with an artwork and not confine it on radio.99 revolutions would be a good single to kickstart their tour, and the tour is also called 99 revolutions so yeah

Tommy's Tonsils Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 I doubt that they'll make another one for X-Kid. 99 Revolutions will probably get one since they seem to like that song so much haha.
Letterbomb44 Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 I see everyone hyping up tres potential but as I was driving around the shore of Newport I was listening to UNO thinking that music videos for that album or singles would be perfect for the summer or even like stop when the red lights flash to get everyone pumped for break... As a jk green day make a fake porno for fuck time like having tre dress up in drag like on holiday
Akshat Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 The Forgotten already has a video. and Their tour has already started. I never said anything about a video for forgotten.I was saying it should be properly released and promoted.
Soroush Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 I definately would say that It's not too late and these albums deserve at least two more singles and videos. my choices are Lazybones and nightlife from Dos And Missing You and Walk away from Tre.

DannyDirnt Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 As much as I want them to relerase more singles, specially from ¡Dos!, I really must admit that I see them more focusing on touring and maybe releasing a few live videos here and there.

I am so sick of "live" music videos and in-the-studio music videos. Urghhhhhhhhhhhhhhasfujndgfmksdfda;fdlgfdhnfb.
WhiteTim Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 I am so sick of "live" music videos and in-the-studio music videos. Urghhhhhhhhhhhhhhasfujndgfmksdfda;fdlgfdhnfb. Cheaper for the label and cheaper for the band
X-Kid-X Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Unfortunately I don't think Dos will have have any singles other than Stray Heart let alone a video coming from Dos. I would have loved a Lazy Bones or Amy video. But Tre may still have a hope. X-Kid not so sure but I could see them releasing 99 Revolutions as a single with a kick-ass video that would get them put back into the mainstream again. I could also see Missing You being a good single. I think Uno and Dos are lost causes for singles and videos at this point though. Unfortunately. They're done with Uno! They have the video for Oh Love, Kill the DJ. They have Troublemaker, Stay the Night and Nuclear Family which are just really cool videos of them playing in the studio. There are official live videos for Stay the Night and Let Yourself Go. Obviously they won't make any more videos for Uno.

Soroush Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 for dos im with you but from tre DRB and the forgotten The Fotgotten is powerful enough for being a single but it already has a video, DRB is a great song too but not a single potential I believe Missing You and Walk Away will both perform well and are good choices for promoting Tre.
Tommy's Tonsils Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 At the end of the day, all we really need is 8th Avenue Serenade over and over and over (and over) again.
Met Fan Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Oh yeah, I keep trying to forget there's a video for The Forgotten lol
Lauren Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 99 Revolutions makes sense. It would do really well for promotion purposes. However, since most people who aren't huge fans of Green Day only listen to singles, I'm afraid they'll think the whole trilogy is political. Why does Green Day keep releasing their most political songs as singles?! People are probably getting sick of it by now.
DannyDirnt Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 I'd rather have them release Stop When the Red Lights Flash better than 99 Revolutions.

Lauren Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 That's because their best songs in the past decade have been political songs. They have been good songs, but if I didn't already like Green Day before I heard them, I would probably never listen to them. It makes them seem like they have nothing else to write about. Kind of like how, I'm not sure about what blink182's music is like because I don't listen to them that often, but perhaps I don't listen to them that often because all the songs I've heard seem to be about sex, and it's getting kind of annoying.
spark in the night Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 I really hope they make a video for Brutal Love. I actually had a dream and I thought it was the perfect music video for it haha. Pretty much Green Day all dressed up in 1940's style band playing in a large elegant ballroom with a large brass band Billie had Elvis hair too. Man, that was a crazy dream. yes.

Not all their best songs are political.Infact, three of the biggest hits last decade-Boulevard of Broken Dreams,Wake Me Up When September Ends and 21 Guns have nothing to do with politics.Only two studio albums have been Political. In the 90's, green day had a variety of music, songs about love, bisexuality, panic, mastrubation, breakups, farewells, bullying, being doped etc.The trilogy too is full of songs of different types.

It's different in Green Day's case.Their singles give no idea at all about the album sound It's been this way forever.Look at Uno for example.Oh Love is such a different song from other album tracks. And they called it so because it sounds nice.'Uno Dos Tre World Tour' is too big a name. And you can definately not call it Oh Love Tour or X-Kid Tour.It also indicates that the band has something special planned for 99 revolutions.Billie said it's one of the best songs he has ever written. About the band being political:I think they wanted to do this political stuff only once. They did it the second time because there was a lot of demand for it.They have already got rid of this image of theirs.Only American Idiot,Holiday,East Jesus Nowhere and 21st Century Breakdown are political single. So that makes it 4 out of 30 singles they ever released.
