Awesompawsome Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 As much as I love green day when they do shit like no tv appeances it lights a fire in me to just piss shit off, and that's pretty impressiveAm I the only one who isn't overly worried about the lack of TV stuff? It almost seems pointless to me. 99% of the people who watch them on those shows watch them on Youtube or wherever the clips get uploaded to. Why not move into the 2010s and start doing webcasts or online interviews? Most of their fanbase is young internet based teenagers. They stand to gain a much greater audience that way. I dunno, TV just really doesn't seem that important to me anymore. I think it's more of a lack of recorded interviews, and promo preformances/interviews that is what bothers meNot Necisarliy them being on tv
itz_brittany87 Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 I'd love to see Green Day on Ellen! I believe she was really looking forward to it as well! I was really excited when they announced they were going to be on Ellen but you know how things happened after that. I'm surprised they haven't been on during the earlier album cycles.
JIGD13 Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Letterman appearances is something that Green Day always does, just wait for it!
IcyMoffatt Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Just give them some time. They just came back from a long break. I'm sure they will do some interviews on tv when they will be ready. On the other hand, I'm wondering if they are waiting to make some live interviews as late as they can to protect Billie Joe. He said in the Rolling Stone's interview that it was the first and the last time he was going to talk about his rehab. He doesn't want any more questions about it. So, I'm pretty sure the band or/and the management don't want to face some journalists being more interested to talk about the rehab then the trilogy. Maybe they want to let the dust falls down first before doing any tv interviews. But who knows what it's really going to happen.
TimmyChunks Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 They have a free day between the NY date and the Providence date- I wouldn't rule out an appearance on Letterman or another NY based show during their day off.
69ingBears Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 They might be worried that the interviewers on TV will want to talk a lot about the rehab even though it was made clear with the Rolling Stone interview that would be the only interview he would talk about it in and has now just completely moved on. Just an assumption.

Just an assumption. Nah, guests meet with a Fallon, Letterman, etc. beforehand and can make known anything they don't want to talk about. Personally I've heard enough about the trilogy, there's nothing else to say. I just want some performances
Mar Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 I highly doubt SNL is gonna happen, sadly. There's only a couple left this year whose guests haven't been announced and they just don't have the momentum for an album that came out 3/5/6 months ago. Like, they've got Miguel on in April, even though his album came out last year, because he got so much Grammy hype and is still gaining momentum. Phoenix's new album comes out around then, too. Something like Letterman or Fallon can be taped quickly and air whenever. It would be lovely to see them pop in on there.
StuckWithInsomnia Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Remember after the cancellation of the Insomniac tour they did Hotel Babylon, Leno, Lettermen, Sat Night Special, and MTV's Hanging Out. I guess when Green Day's tour is in the same city one of these shows is filmed they could go on one of these shows.

Harry Potter. Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 TV appearances I want from Green Day right now: Ellen - Because the show is extremely popular and it would do as good promotion. Plus, Ellen is really funny and it would be almost as entertaining to watch as that dancing Billie gif from the Shepherd's Bush show. Letterman - Green Day + Letterman = don't even make me explain.
Akshat Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 To do that they need an account They should have one, if they want to connect to their fans and shit
LazyPhil Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 I want Billie Joe back on Real Time with Bill Maher!

Why dos everyone want them on the Ellen show? It's audience is 40 year old women who are unhappy with their love lives.
Yojimbo Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Why dos everyone want them on the Ellen show? It's audience is 40 year old women who are unhappy with their love lives. Because Ellen is awesome.

No. It's a really entertaining show, and Ellen herself is really funny. A lot of famous stars doing all kinds of things often appear on it too. By the way, I'm not a 40 year old woman, so I don't think it's a very truthful statement you got there.
Countrygirl Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 I thought they were going to be on Ellen today, but it ended up just being a repeat.
jacknovella Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Why dos everyone want them on the Ellen show? It's audience is 40 year old women who are unhappy with their love lives. Ellen loves Green Day, and her shows are always entertaining and I think they'd interact really well if they were to appear on the show
Jean Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Ellen loves Green Day, and her shows are always entertaining and I think they'd interact really well if they were to appear on the show It would be awesome if they played one of her games. Preferably the Dennis Quaid one.
Yojimbo Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 I thought they were going to be on Ellen today, but it ended up just being a repeat. What made you think that?
Countrygirl Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 What made you think that? Haha idk...I wanted to watch ellen today and saw Green Day on there. Then I saw this thread, so I had to write a post.
Slave To The Network Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Oh I'm sure they will be making some TV appearances in the next few months. They just need a little time to readjust. We need to be patient. It's not like they won't ever appear on TV again.
