spark in the night Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 Lol I won't bother reading the comments. It's like yelling at a brick wall. Just know that Billie nor Adrienne, nor anyone else associated with Green Day reads those comments or cares about them and they won't be hurt by them I really think all sites need to disable comments. It only stirs shit and spam.
Robin105 Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 This is why I don't read comments at all. I just read what people have to say on here because we won't bash the band at all. But on sites like Rolling Stone and even the bands official facebook page is full of spam, hateful comments and the same people over and over commenting about coming to their country.
Slave To The Network Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 Avoid cracked.com articles that mention Green Day like the plague. Cliché, I know, but it's true. I know how you feel, though. It is really hard to read such horrible stuff about someone or something you love. Now I'm not reading comment sections anymore either. That's the best thing to do. Just don't pay any attention to them.
Nzap Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 Who cares. The only ones that bother writing anything in the comment sections are attention-whores who write anything that is considered to be popular. Aand of course those who try to swim upstream and tell the truth, but those get buried pretty quickly under new attention-whores.
Andrew Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 Also remember that it's not just Green Day that get abuse, it's the same for any well known bands. They all have haters and sadly they feel the need to vent whatever problem they have to as many people as possible.

Not everyone on there is a complete idiot.

Iain Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 I'm sure if they read the whole story on WHY billie went to rehab in Rolling Stone Mag then maybe they won't be so quick to judge. I had someone tell me that Billie Joe was a junkie, and they clearly weren't a Gren Day fan. I got pissed off because of their ignorance; rehab isn't just for those who are addicted to substance, it's also for people who have mental issues or psychological issues besides. If anything, it's more a mentality issue than a substance issue for anyone. I've got to admit humanity, I gave you a lot more credit than you deserve...

I'm mostly talking about the actual authors. You probably know who I mean. Gladstone is one of them and I think he hates Green Day. It's good to know that the comment sections aren't so bad there, though! I never really read them, so I wouldn't know.

I think he actually clarified that in one of his articles, he doesn't hate them, he's pretty indifferent to them. It's just his job to be funny, so he uses them because a lot of internet people hate them

I wasn't reading his stuff for a while because of that. I think I read that one too, but I forgot about it.

Money is money I guess you're right. Oh well. I feel the same way about Muse actually. Too bad Green Day attracts so much hate from people and they have to be "that band", though. I honestly don't know how anyone could justify hating them. Maybe disliking, sure, but hating? Just doesn't make sense to me.

Money is money Gotta agree to that. If I'm being paid to do something like that, I'd be chuffed I tend to avoid comment sections for this reason, though. It just annoys me so I ignore it as much as I can.

I read them for fun these days. Correcting their spelling is the best.

That makes me feel good to think about that. And yeah! Just completely ignoring what they're trying to say and just being all like *their instead. That's the best! It pisses them off even more and confuses the shit out of them because it isn't the reaction they were fishing for. You know people who are such haters like that just can't be that bright.
HolyHandGrenade Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 Success breeds envy. I guarantee everyone who hates Green Day has secretly rocked out to Basket Case or cried during Good Riddance at least once Just think of all the grown men who are fans of Bieber and One Direction.

So much venom spitting from the keyboards
HolyHandGrenade Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 I'd rather not. 5 Stages of Grieving: -DENIAL -Anger -Bargaining -Depression -Acceptance
Guest Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 I'm sorry I know this isn't relevant but reading this page has made me crack up like nothing else. Oh my god Ahem YES comments are bad people are stupid yup.
Andrew Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 Mindless sheep are never that bright That goes for those metalheads who mindlessly hate Bieber and 1D. So much venom spitting from the keyboards I agree, like NME making 1D worst band of the year the other day. It's just pointless snobbery that's completely irrelevant to the music they cover.

Slave To The Network Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 Mindless sheep are never that bright That goes for those metalheads who mindlessly hate Bieber and 1D. So much venom spitting from the keyboards I know! People have adopted this mentality that it's "cool" to hate something nowadays. How is that cool? My generation confuses the fuck out of me. I don't get them...
