Jean Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 ikr? I'm an ONTD addict and that poster is wonderful about posting GD news and there's a core group of us that post in those posts (as you can see by the comments). It made me so happy to see your Tumblr as the source for the text! I am that poster
EmmaCharlatan&Saints Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Reading the comments on here all i think is psychologists!!! psychologists!!!!! Everywhere!
inthehallwaynow Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Reading the comments on here all i think is psychologists!!! psychologists!!!!! Everywhere! agreed, I feel like people think they are properly equipped to analyze all of billies words and feelings about certain situations
Guest Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Right, okay, I'm bored of this now. Some of us have been through this kind of shit ourselves, or have been close to someone else going through it so we know what it's like, we've seen what it can do to people & how badly it can effect them. I'm not saying every single person in here has gone through that, some people may never have had first hand experience with it. We're just all concerned for Billie, how his mental & physical health & don't want him to push himself too hard. Just because some of us are more vocal about it than others, how does that make us any less than those who are more reserved about it? This thread is here to talk about the interview, to share our opinions, concerns, views & worries about the whole situation which is exactly what we're doing. If you don't like it, don't come into the thread & post shitty comments aimed at the rest of us. You don't have to read any of this, you don't have to be involved with it either so why get involved in something that is clearly going to annoy you? It just seems a bit daft to me. Seriously, either stop posting dumb comments or just don't post in here at all. There's no need to be rude or sarcastic about it. [Edit] If you have a valid point to make, actually contributing to the conversation, then great, that's awesome. I'm all for that but if it's just to indirectly poke fun at people, then no, not cool. Some of the stuff said in here by people can be a bit far-fetched and daft, but if the rest of us manage to ignore them, so can others.

If someone thinks an analysis of the situation goes too far into making assumptions/guesses about Billie's private business without knowing the facts then they have as much right to express their opinion as the person who made the analysis has to express theirs. Not being rude applies to everyone of course, but I haven't seen anyone being excessively rude in here.

I get what you're saying, but when people are clearly only posting the comment to be sarcastic, it's just a bit dumb, really. If they had some valid input other than "psychologist, psychologists everywhere!", then that'd be great. It'd open up a proper discussion but silly comments like that are just a bit rude & pointless. I'll agree that some people do go a bit far, thinking they know the ins & outs of his exact situation, but a lot of the conversation I've read through isn't too bad. It's genuine concern & just trying to figure out whats going on for ourselves, so we don't have to think 'oh god what could happen' and being hit in the gut when, hopefully not, something worse happens. I'll apologise that my last post wasn't very clear on some things I just said, it was written in a moment of annoyance, I'm more of a do-er than a thinker, that's my main downfall. I'll correct it.
AngelBlue_ Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Now,after Adrienne's correction, I really don't understand the meaning of that part in the interview O.o

I dunno, I think psychologists everywhere is a fair comment about some of the "analyzing" posts here , but a lot of the "analyzing" posts are intelligent and good and don't go too far as well. I think as long as people are reasonably civil on both sides then both types of comment are fine. They balance each other out.
stories and songs Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Now,after Adrienne's correction, I really don't understand the meaning of that part in the interview O.o LOL, the only thing in the interview that we were given that could possibly be connected to coffee is the fact that Billie started going to a doughnut shop after detoxing. Even so, I have no idea how it managed to slip into the final article! Misunderstandings happen and I'm sure that's all this was, but still a very strange occurrence!
Bastard of 1967 Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Now,after Adrienne's correction, I really don't understand the meaning of that part in the interview O.o With the band having once written about putting 409 in a teacher's coffeemaker, all it means is Adie is still watching her back (and her cup)!
Hero_Of_The_Hour Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Seriously though I find it odd that Billie would shall we say "give false information" like that (what else can you call it i mean it's not like he would even discuss his wife's distaste if coffee in an interview about his alcoholism, drug addiction and rehab!)...so I wonder why the fuck he said that at all. Then I wonder why Adrienne bothered correcting him and bringing attention to it and finally I wonder what else he said that was shall we say "inaccurate". Odd circumstances all round.

You can't just get suspicious and assume other things are wrong! I remember billie once saying "I don't even like the high you get from coffee" so he possibly could have mentioned it in that way. Or he could have said adie doesn't even like coffee as in, she's not got an addictive personality and they missed out the coffee part. We all know he mumbles, there's probably a reasonable explanation for it. Lets not forget it was rolling stone that thought he had a daughter named Josie.
dirnt286 Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Now,after Adrienne's correction, I really don't understand the meaning of that part in the interview O.o Tried reading through past pages, but didnt find anything. Where did she make this "correction'?

I really don't think you can blame Rolling Stone on this one though...re-read what Billie said...he was specifically talking about Adrienne dealing with his recovery and said about how she "doesn't drink"...maybe someone could get the exact quote...but it was something like she doesn't drink, she never has, she hates the taste of it and she hates the smell...so how exactly would RS slip that in accidentally? It just is odd...Tried reading through past pages, but didnt find anything. Where did she make this "correction'? Twitter

DannyDirnt Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 And how does Adrienne not liking coffee change things?
AngelBlue_ Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 I"...maybe someone could get the exact quote... Was it rough on your wife and sons to be at home, watching you go through withdrawal? “I kept it away from my sons pretty good. My dogs kept looking at me, wondering how I’m doing. They can sense that stuff. I could have gone to a facility, but this way I could be around my loved ones. And my wife doesn’t drink. Never has. She doesn’t like the taste or the smell.”

Some of the stuff said in here by people can be a bit far-fetched and daft, but if the rest of us manage to ignore them, so can others. I presume this is aimed mainly at me. Well im being dead serious actually. Seriously ive seen posts on here analysing the crap out of the article and people making assumptions because Billie said this or that and are interpreting it as a fact or an answer to certain things. Okay fair enough if youve been in a similar situation to Billie but that doesnt automatically mean it is very similar or you know exactly what everything he said means. If you have a physiology degree then fair enough i'l listen but if you are just assuming this means that or that means this just stop. He doesnt need us speculating about his personal life he made his peace about the situation stop infering something from nothing when you dont know what his whole situation was. All im seeing is ''physiologists'' on this board. Im not trying to be rude about it either im simply stating that people over analysing the interview will only confuse people and twist what Billie actually said. And that would be a total shame when he had the guts to say what he said.
Hermione Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Thanks for finding the quote! So someone tell me was he talking about coffee here and was misunderstood? I really just don't get why he would say this when it wasn't necessary or true. Just because they printed that "quote" it doesn't mean it's a complete quote. It could very well be that the conversation naturally steered to him mentioning coffee, but instead of printing it all they cut some out. It might be that they mistakenly thought he was talking about her not drinking alcohol so they didn't think it would matter if they cut the coffee part of the quote out leaving it looking like he meant alcohol (since that's what they thought he meant). You see this kind of thing in articles all the time, where a quote isn't actually a complete quote so it's misleading. She probably just read the article, noticed there was an inaccuracy about her, and corrected it. I don't think it's a big deal.
stories and songs Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 I agree that it probably just isn't a complete quote. The writer picks and chooses which quotes from the interview they'd like to feature in the story, which can sometimes lead to certain quotes being strung together in an awkward way or coming off differently than intended. SO many people have come off the wrong way due to their interview being chopped up awkwardly. It happens, and it (usually) isn't intentional!
