AlissaGoesRAWR Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 Brace yourself girl, the reps are coming. I'm not doing it for the reps, I swear! Just wanna spread the Green Day love! You all can thank my lovely fiance. He bought it for me when he saw it at the mall this afternoon while I was at work. What a pleasant surprise! The article is the perfect blend of professional journalism and a humble, intelligent, HEALTHY Billie. It's like heaven. It's what we've all been waiting for and I think it's the perfect way for the band to put everything behind them and focus on the future, which is looking bright.
AlissaGoesRAWR Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 Aww, shucks. You guys are too kind. Is the quality OK? I think this scanner is as old as I am.

AlissaGoesRAWR Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 Don't go bitchin' 'bout OLD, girl!! Quality's just fine, thanks bunches for scanning them!! Haha, 21 people years is a lot different than 21 technology years! And no problem! Glad I could help! Enough people have helped me out in the past with scans, I thought why not return the favor?
! Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 From Mike: "I hope to be on a park bench with him when I'm old, feeding fucking birds and having conversations" Mannnnn is that friendship or what??? && thank you for the scans!!!
TaylorKlinke Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 And that article is why I love this band - forever and always.

deletethisaccount Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 Great job Alissa on those scans! The part where Billie Joe talks about bumping into Mike at a doughnut shop, having a great talk, and mentioning in the interview that the two of them had been friends since they were 10, for some reason that made me tear up.
spacesauce Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 Bought this one. Damn magazines are as expensive as Starbucks these days. Worth it. Why? I think this interview confirms Green Day is gonna be around for life. They're never quitting. And I'm gonna be an old gray fuck in the front row some day for their final tour.

Anaïs. Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 It was a relief to read this. He's not back to normal, but he's far from destroyed, and sounds very lucid and intelligent here. Here's hoping he gets through this with no relapses.

alaniluau Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 Now that I've read and digested the article (kisses to Alissa), I'm ready to skim through this thread. During the entire trilogy era, my relationship with the band has been stressful. I felt embarrassed, nervous, overwhelmed, and disappointed. I had people coming up to me on the street and saying, "I'm sorry about that guy you love. I hope he gets better." Green Day had always been a cause I stood behind--something I believed in absolutely. Despite the 2punx4skool kids shouting their disparagements, despite the declining record sales, despite a few decisions I personally disagreed with, I was irrefutably, 100% team Green Day. September and its subsequent months led me through some soul searching. For the first time in my life, I didn't love the new Green Day material. Some songs spoke more to me than others, but overall I felt let down. Uno, Dos, and Tre made me sad more than they made me happy. But you know what? I'm committed to this group. I love Green Day for their good, bad, and ugly parts. Like any relationship, there are peaks and valleys. In 2010, I got to see the greatest live band in the world three times in one week. The next year, I saw one of my heroes acting on Broadway--of all the places to find him! In a sweaty San Francisco dive, I shared laughs and hugs with Mike Dirnt. This band has given me the greatest memories of my life, and I look forward to making more. Coincidentally, I'm straight edge. It's nice to know I'll be seeing some familiar tousled black hair in the soda line.
HolyHandGrenade Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 I think this interview confirms Green Day is gonna be around for life. They're never quitting. And I'm gonna be an old gray fuck in the front row some day for their final tour. If Green day split up instead: "I was a young boy that had big plans / now I'm just another shitty old man / I don't have fun and I hate everything / the world owes me, so fuck you" Now that's a world I don't want to live in. Save me Billie Joe!
