jumpsalty Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Even before Shepherds Bush people were talking about Tre acting more "quiet" and "off" for example when the Billboard photoshoot behind the scenes thingy came out & other media. I specifically remember that. So I am not going back and looking for clues. Also the night of Shepherds Bush it was obvious something was wrong with the delay & weird opening. Everybody was talking about it around me and with me there. I never said I saw anything off with Billie (though I found it odd at the time that Tre said he had laringitis when he started the show though he sounded alright and that was my impression immediatedly not as reflection)...however I did think Tre was less "happy" than usual and I was slap bang in front of him, he gave me his drumstick & as a huge fan of his I guess I watched him a lot. Also this is not the only place in world...none of the girls I was in the front row with even visit this site...and they all thought Tre wasnt himself too. Anyway just watch Reading/Irving Plaza...you would need to be blind to not notice his expression...its not psychoanalyzing its just fact. If I wasnt on my phone I would use two simple examples...normal Tre is a giant happy smiley...Tre last summer was a shifty sad smiley. Read back a few pages...several people agree. Its kind of Specsavers stuff. I never noticed any odd behaviour from tre before the shepherds bush at all. To be honest, there weren't many opportunities to even see his behaviour. And I was at shepherds bush and I noticed that none of the guys were 100 percent themselves that night, and given what we now know happened that day, I'd say that explains it. This whole thing of going back and looking at videos to try and guess how bad things were behind the scenes is ridiculous, specially when it's from people who applauded the excess at the time.
kripack Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 So, some people already got copies, but there are still no scans?
insomniax Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 My mom has been a sober alcoholic for about a year, she was a pretty hardcore drunk before for many years but nowadays she doesn't seem to struggle while being in the company of others who drink. Of course I can't really tell for sure how she feels, but we have alcohol in the house and we always drink during holidays and such and from what I can tell, it doesn't seem to be such a big deal for HER anymore. I'm not saying that this is how it will be for Billie, everyones different and heck, we'll never know. But as a theory, I think everyone will be careful about it in the beginning and as someone wrote on a previous page, maybe not have any alcohol backstage. But eventually, if he manages to stay on track, he'll get used to it and adapt to it. And hopefully that's the way it's going to be.

Wait...I clearly said the Billboard interview was discussed AT THE TIME not after the fact and it was...on this site. As I said I am not condoning some ridiculous search for "hints" but there was an obvious shift in Tre's facial expression from happy to not happy. Thats not exactly difficult to see or hard to understand as "not like he used to appear to the general public". All of this is derailing my original point that Tre clearly cares for Billie. Also if you are suggesting that I was one of the (frankly idiotic fans who at the time of iHeart I critcised and was berated for doing so) celebrated their excesses then you really have no clue what you are talking about. Honestly sometimes people drive me nuts...back in summer Billie did tonnes of interviews including Zane Lowe where he wasn't himself (on that he even said he had done a "bunch of Rhypnol") and I know I was not alone in noticing these things but aparantly now it is forbidden to mention any of these things as nobody saw anything and if we say we did we are liars or "looking for clues". Whatever...maybe some of us had ears and eyes at the time (not claiming to be superhuman just human) but this site rips people to shreds if they say anything. Also all of this deviates from my original freaking point that Tre obviously cares about Billie dammit!!
Kid A Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 The shipping fee would cost way more than the magazine itself, Thank god for "alternate" resources.
LazyPhil Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Has somebody found scans somewhere ? Comes out tomorrow so check back tomorrow Or if you can't wait search between pages 20-30 someone typed the whole interview and put it in a spoiler
Guest Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Has somebody found scans somewhere ? Page 27, I typed it up & put it in a spoiler otherwise you gotta wait until tomorrow.
Bastard of 1967 Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Since Billie pledged to stay clean, does that mean Mike, Tre, and Jason will be too? It would be pretty hard for BJ if everyone else around him kept their habits - and did so right in front of him. They all have to at least til Billie has *years* of sobriety behind him. It takes a lot of re-education before the new habits become automatic.
stories and songs Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 If they drank before and after a performance, then changes will certainly need to be made. I'm not worried about it though - they're all adults, and they care about Billie's well-being. If I were one of the other guys in the band and having a beer meant putting my friend's life at risk, you know what? I'm not going to have the beer, because its not worth it. This is coming from a person who has very little interest in alcohol to begin with, so I know it will be different for people who drink regularly, but still. They are close enough friends where I would hope not being able to drink backstage is insignificant compared to what could've happened to Billie. The way Billie said they haven't talked about what they'd do on tour and needed to find a way for everyone to be healthy and happy kind of made me me feel as though he didn't want to piss the others off by outlawing alcohol. But, you gotta do what you gotta do. They'll make it work.
AngelBlue_ Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 I think this part can make people understand how serious his addiction was... “I was going through so much shift. Even into the second week, I was like, ‘I don’t belong here. I’m not convinced.’ The sick part of it is I wanted to get all of the narcotics out of my system so I could start drinking. But that’s the insanity of the whole thing. You make excuses.
LazyPhil Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Strange how he didn't talk about pot right?
jacknovella Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Strange how he didn't talk about pot right? He mentioned it, he said they used to be total pot heads. In comparison to the alcohol and narcotics, pot is nothing, so I'm not surprised they didn't go into more detail or question it further.

Oh oops I forgot that part But what my point was that he didn't talk about it like a problem

Of course we all can say that there were clues looking back on it now but I for one did not connect Tre making a sad face to billies a drug addict. It wasnt like that, its wasnt obvious
joeysturkeyhead Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Oh oops I forgot that part But what my point was that he didn't talk about it like a problem Pot isn't something most people choose to go to rehab for, some people choose it but the most percentage of people who are in rehab for pot are there because otherwise they would have ended up in jail. Many young people have done pot atleast once (California is especially known for that), I don't think he's been doing it lately.
Schlappy Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Is this a new picture? hot damn where'd you find this?
greenday_jlb Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 I think if we look back to shepherds bush, the delay and everything it's quite clear something was going on, I didn't notice anything different during the show but I wasn't that close, I thought the whole show went well and didn't pick up on anything, other than the delay, the reading festival tre looked a bit solum but I guess if they were all worried for Billie he would be, I'm glad Billie got it sorted before it ended them, that would be a disaster.
~ Walking Contradiction Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 hot damn where'd you find this? I saw it in a youtube video, they were talking about the interview and that picture was shown in the background so I saved it! here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xJuKc9Draj4
