Drake, Eminem, Cee Lo ... I'm sure if you put Beiber's face on the cover, you could write "JUSTIN" next to it. So no :P

Though personally I'm kind of surprised it doesn't say "Green Day frontman" anywhere on the cover. Either RS assumes Billie is more recognizable than he actually is, or I'm not aware of how famous he is

Yeah, but Billie Joe is his real first name. Eminem is not (Marshall Mathers). Cee Lo is not (Thomas Callaway). Drake is his middle name (Aubrey Drake Graham) Until just a couple of years ago and you heard the name Justin most people thought of Timberlake....

Bono

Paul David Hewson

Is RS sold at CVS? There's one across the street from my work. I could snatch it on my lunch break

I said this last night, but hopefully GDA manages to get some copies to sell online. Has Andres said anything new about it, is it possible? I'm too lazy to scroll the pages back. He mentioned that they try to make it happen.

I think that's just the luck of being born with a memorable name more than anything though. Most men's first names are boring so performers will pick a different one to stand out. Billie was born with one that instantly stands out because it has two words and no other famous person has it so he has an advantage in the being referred to by the first name stakes. Since it's two words being referred to as "Billie Joe" isn't really any more notable than being referred to as say "Mick Jagger", it's kind of like Billie is the first name and Joe is the second. Also, Elvis!

In my opinion this is the most honest interview I have ever read. As I always have repect for Billie, now it is even bigger.

Yeah, it's really annoying. but I'm just realising I can't wait days to read the rest. But I just can't arrange them. I don't know what part to read and when. It's all mixed up and it's a mess.

The girl wrote on the descriptions of the pics "part 1", "part 2" (...) "part 22". And the pics are in order. Just keep going to the left. It isn't that confusing and it's worth it! ;)

Who found the original photo?

I thought we would have (decent) scans by now... 26 pages :ermm:

I'm going to wait for better scans

It's up on instagram now... but I don't think I can read it. I'm going to wait until I can get RS magazine.

I've seen bits of it on tumblr. It's just.. it's going to be really hard.

Wow, I read a few parts of the interview from the scans but it really looks like Billie bares himself, his feares and his weakness like he's never done before there. Probably a sign that he really got out f there, he is totally conscious of the path he had taken and that he wants to change...That makes him closer to us, because he's a human like everyone, making wrong choices for himself and for the others around him, thing that we often forget; but at the same time it makes him an even greater hero and model, because he had the strength and courage to stand up again, face his problems and mistakes and take control on his life for his family and friends...and ready to give us more.

This is one of those moments when I'm so proud of knowing Green Day and being a fan of them and Billie, and I just want to thank him.

Would it be worth me typing up the article? I understand a lot of people on here aren't able to read the article from the Instagram posts for various reasons & I'm a fast typist, would that be of use to anyone? :ermm:

I would be very happy if you did but maybe it's unnecessary work because it comes out in 2 days and we'll probably have scans. But I'd love you very much if you took the time to type it

Thanks a lot to lastgangintown for that, brilliant read. Glad to see him doing well. He has a great sense of self awareness. The lines about discovering The Ramones/The Strokes are gold. The whole thing is a great insight into what it takes to get up onstage for 20 years and play music, as a fan of music and as a musician.

Oh yeah, it may be in the magazine section and not by the registers though. It's been a while since I was in a CVS (they closed them all here) but I feel like I can remember seeing it there. OT, but I'll be in NOLA for a couple days next month, maybe we'll end up in the same CVS!

Maybe since it's a new day, someone else will get the mag and post better scans (although I think all things considered hers are just fine and like, only missing two words, and I'm glad she went through all that effort to put up all those scans!) so I wouldn't worry about it, everyone :)

i just hope he knows we love him.

hes a wonderful human being and i'm glad he's back <3

Read it all. It's pretty sincere. I still can't imagine Mike being 'fucking pissed off' or Tré being scared. Also it's sad to imagine Billie going through all that. I'm relieved it's now all good, and I'm sure that now he'll manage to control himself. I'm impatient to see them playing again, being all healthy and with no more shit going on.

I can't tell with words how happy, and most of all proud, I am of this man. He couldn't have handled this situation better: make a heartfelt, stripped down interview with no forbidden questions, and once all that happened is clear to the fans (who in the end are the ones who most deserve an explanation), leave the topic aside, and start rocking our fucking faces off. Again, there's no words on how much I love this band and this men. You can see how much good this has done to him, he looks beautiful and much healthier.

I'm also waiting for proper scans, but I couldn't resist clicking on spoilers... xD

Damn, this article is long! I'll type it up as fast as I can for you guys & post it here in a spoiler when it's done. :)

Also, how do you do the whole 'spoiler' thing? :ermm:

Well whatever floats his boat I guess.

Really? i can. Mike is obviously very emotionally connected to Billie so seeing him throwing his life away would make anyone really angry. Also by screwing with the band Billie was derailing mikes life as well. I dont think Billie meant Tre was scared of him, more that he was scared to say anything. People usually dont take the "you've got a problem" speech well...

It might be just my own fantasy but i'm liking this bromance tag team impression i'm getting of mike and tre right now. I feel like Mike would carry you home and put you to bed while Tre would make fun of you the next morning to cheer you up

Mike always so happy and nice I can't imagine him being angry at all. I would perfectly understand Mike being angry, but I can't imagine the scene of him being angry. And I didn't mean Tré being scared of Billie, but I interpreted it as he was kind of scared of the whole situation and what could happen.

I get the impression of Mike being the one that helps you and tries to talk with you when you're out of yourself, and then Tré trying to say something funny to cool things down. In this perception of things, they seem like a good combination.
