VisionsofGreenDay115 Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 For one thing, Green Day is back. Never before had I thought I would read something so deep about Billie and his life. Not only does the trilogy (which I disagree, I love the trilogy) touch me, but what Billie has come to say has too. this is why they are my favorite band. Billie earns so much respect for this, and for anyone who says otherwise can go read that.
Mike of Suburbia Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 That, man... wow. That hit pretty hard, the stuff about him and Mike. Damn, they're in it together forever. But they're back, and they're gonna kick some ass.
kerplunkerr Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 I have finished and im so proud of him. As you have said, he seems very committed with this thing and also he is brave enough to openly talk about it. I pictured Billie in all of those situations (from laying on the bathroom floor to making the huge wave with his hand) and it hurts but im happy he is doing good and he has such a great friends.he had to hit rock bottom to understand what was going on and well, im glad he has this nice people around him to support and motivate him. There was a couple of things that shocked me : Anna watched the performance, also i had no idea that Adrienne doesnt drink at all! That's such a positive thing to Billie and the alcohol quitting! It is nice to know that Mike and Billie are such a good friends that Mike told him to put his shit together, well done Mike! .
Cob Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 fuck should I read it now online or wait to get the aritcle? I don't know what to do! Wait. The photos on instagram are set up weird and difficult to follow.

Akshat Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Green Day has lost a lot of popularity in the recent past.I would suggest them to start working on the new record immediately.Because being in the studio is something they enjoy. And this time Billie shall have some really good songs. How about a new album in 2014?20 years after Dookie and 10 years after American Idiot?
stories and songs Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 LOL I take it everyone is reading now because it seems to have gone very quiet...
Clean Cut Asshole Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Someone should just post the scans somewhere else, the Instagram shit isn't loading on my computer. I was just curious to see what Billie said.
Akshat Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Can someone please make a proper scan?I am dying to read that article!!
desecrator09 Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Not to mention they have like a third of the page cut off...
Fuzz Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 I don't understand why you people are all crying and stuff... I'm feeling kinda sad for Billie but I never wanna feel sympathy for anyone and as also Billie said he don't want people to feel like that for him. I just feel glad he is in such a good way to overcome those problems he has had since so many years. Agreed. I mean, it was very powerful. It's not great seeing someone you admire talk about their lowest points. But yeah, I'm not emotionial enough to cry over something like that. The guy doesn't want our pity.
DookieLukie Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 "I don't want your sympathy. I don't want your honestly. I just want to get some peace of mind."

I doubt retreating to the studio for a year would be a good thing. The best option they have now is to promo the heck out of the trilogy and give the best tour they possibly can.
WhiteTim Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Okay, I just read the "too early for a rehab album" part. I hadn't seen those scans yet. It sounds like he's dissatisfied with the production of the Trilogy. He wouldn't be the only one, to me it's the Trilogy's greatest flaw. How so? Hell he said he loved crappy sounding records he states he wants to record an album the Rolling Stones Exile album and if people hate the trilogy production will HATE the Exile sound... Personally i loved the sound of the trilogy...
Cob Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 How so? Hell he said he loved crappy sounding records he states he wants to record an album the Rolling Stones Exile album and if people hate the trilogy production will HATE the Exile sound... Personally i loved the sound of the trilogy... He mentioned that he wished that the last records were recorded live completely; "get a good tone and go". I'm assuming that he's referring to the Trilogy. They definitely wanted that vibe, but Rob's production was too clean and tight when the band was playing loose and with energy. I also love the sound of the Trilogy, the tone and punchiness are great. But it seems too tight for the music that's being played.

I just feel glad he is in such a good way to overcome those problems he has had since so many years. I can't speak for everyone, but I teared up. Not because I feel sorry for him or pity him. I teared up because he went through something that was really scary and life-threatening and came out of the other side strong and healthy. That is a huge accomplishment. It sounds as though he has and will continue to work hard to stay sober, and I am incredibly proud of him for that. I guess it made me cry mostly because this has been a hell of a few months. It has been filled with worry and uncertainty. To finally hear him speak about this, and to speak with such honesty, brings up a ton of emotions - sadness over what he struggled with, optimism for the future, pride, excitement, relief... its just a lot.
GDLoT Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 "By the way, my favorite part was that hole thing about being in Green Day at 60 years old, and the Rolling Stones.... I´m very very happy that Billie is back, and now i love him more than ever <3" I loved that part too Mara. I can picture them rocking out in their 60 and 70's even. It makes me all smiley & content. btw, for this interview I think he was wearing those exact black pants with the hole in the knee that he's wearing in your signature...
stories and songs Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 I don't want to spoil it for anyone else, but my favorite part was the little mention about him and Jakob and the record player. I love it when he tells those sweet little stories about his family life. I very distinctly remember the first time I realized how much I loved him. It was this little article at the end of 2005 with a few short interview questions. One of them asked what his favorite part of 2005 was - a year when Green Day was HUGE and had accomplished so much. His answer? "I taught my son to play guitar."
