I am so done with the King for a Day/Shout thing live.

I'm sure someone's already said that several times but yeah. I just said it again.

This. They could easily add 4 songs to the setlist just by dropping this turd. Billie needs to cut out the hey ohs big time. I can't listen to some songs live anymore because of it.

Everyone seems to attack me when I mention Billie cutting back on the hey-ohs. It's nice to find someone that agrees. A couple of times is fine. Dragging out six minutes is not. In my opinion, at least.

Really??????

I thought alot of people shared the consensus that it's WAY TOO DAMN MUCH.

Once? Great. Twice? Sure. Three times? OK. 187 times?? No.

I love King For Day/Shout. I love the Hey-Ohs. And I LOVE Welcome To Paradise.

Adding on a full minute and a half to the end of Jesus of Suburbia completely destroys the song for me. I love listening to the AAF version for his awesome City of the Damned vocal climb, but then the end makes me want to rip my ears off.

Billie could stand to shut his mouth a bit, and play a couple of extra songs.

You are the cancer of Green Day shows.

As far as I'm concerned, y'all are the cancer of Green Day fans.

Semi-joking.

Someone needs to make a clip of Billie Joe singing hey oh for 20 minutes and post it on Youtube. Oh wait, they did. It's called every fucking live version of Hitchin' a Ride.

I really don't like the word cancer being used as an insult but okay.

I don't think the hey-ohs are horrendous, I just wish he wouldn't drag them on as long. The first few times it's great crowd interaction. After that it gets repetitive and annoying. It ruins the song, if he keeps it up for too long.

As long as I'm watching my favorite band play a bunch of kickass songs that love I really don't care. Sure I have a dream setlist, but I'm fine seeing pretty much anything. And as a performer myself, I would never ask some these things of the band. Shit like that gets "Prosthetic Head" written.

I agree with the "hey ho" thing. It's not that bad when you're at the concert, in the crowd. But when you're listening to live versions, it is really annoying.

Is it an unpopular opinion to strongly dislike Sam Bayer? Because it shouldn't be.

I severely dislike Bayer. The only good music video, in my opinion, that he's ever made is the Nirvana video. And even then, that wasn't even thanks to him.

Don't pass something off as fact when you don't have a source. And when it's obviously stupid. That's all.

Unpopular opinion time. Welcome To Paradise is fucking boring. Very glad it's hardly ever played anymore.

Oh yeah, I'm sorry. I just made that up on spot JUST to piss you off. How was I supposed to know Fashion Victim is in fact easy to play and that must not be a fact? I've heard people say it a few times that that's why they didn't play it. How stupid of me for not being a bass player. Happy fucking St Patty's day to you.

And I'm also sick of WtP

Well, regardless of how I feel about that video, my understanding is that he kind of fucked up Kurt Cobain's ideas for the video. From Wikipedia: "Cobain disliked Bayer's final edit and personally oversaw a re-edit of the video that resulted in the version finally aired." I've also heard some other things but I don't know how true they are.

The only thing I don't like from Sam Bayer is the Wake Me Up video.

I think he should be burned alive in a boiler room for that travesty of the remake of Nightmare On Elm Street...

That's fair. I just think the Jesus of Suburbia video is one of the most god awful things I've ever seen in my life. And, to stay relevant to recent videos, I think the Oh Love video is pretty bad, too.

i don't mind them keeping kfad on the setlist just because it's such a great opportunity for crowd interaction but i also wouldn't mind if they got rid of it because there's so many other songs i want them to play. idk i'm just so torn  billie's hey-oh's are obviously really excessive at this point but he eats that shit up so i don't think he's gonna stop anytime soon.

4 hour concert, anyone?

That would end the discussion

Everyone's happy... unless they take that opportunity to stretch out KFAD another 30 minutes and just add Hitchin' a Ride

Don't go getting pissy at me because you said something and it turned out to be completely and utterly dumb. You don't have to be a bass player just to listen to it and realise he's only playing about 5 notes in the entire song.

I'd seriously question the trustworthiness of anyone who told you that Fashion Victim was hard to play, on any instrument.

And Paddy's day finished 3 hours ago over here ;)

He directed the Holiday video right? Because that's my favorite video the band's ever done.

every time I listen to Fashion Victim, I like to sit down and count how many notes Mike plays on his bass said no one ever. :P

On top of the American Idiot (album) and Oh Love videos, I really, really dislike the way he handled Bullet In A Bible. Cutting songs from the set, using shitty filters, etc. That, in my opinion, is not how you capture a concert. The documentary pieces are awesome, but the presentation of the concert itself, I think, could be way better.

am I the only one who doesn't know (or care) who directed which video???? :ermm:

What was cut? Homecoming and Letterbomb?
