X-Kid-X Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 I love the trilogy. I love Christian's Inferno, I love Know Your Enemy. I love them musically and also because I know what they add to the storyline. You all seem to hate it when the chorus is repeatitive, and immediately target the song as unnecesary. I love Nightlife, Oh Love and Kill the DJ too. I seem to enjoy everything the band has done musically and lyrically and could never understand bad criticism. The only thing I didn't agree with is the choice of singles in 21stCBD. "But there's nothing wrong with me, this is how I'm supposed to be".
musso_kn Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 I'm completely sick of the singles from Dookie. I barely listen to Basket Case, When I Come Around, Longview, or Welcome to Paradise anymore. They're unbelievably boring. Having A Blast, Emenius Sleepus, She, and Sassafras Roots are some of Green Day's best songs. She is my favourite song period. And I think you'll find it was a radio single.
Guest Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 She is my favourite song period. And I think you'll find it was a radio single. It was? Then it's the only single I listen to from that album.
EastCaitNowhere Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Does anyone else think Horseshoes and Handgrenades is the best song on 21CB, or is that an unpopular opinion of mine? I completely agree, should've been released as a single along with east jesus nowhere instead of 21CB and last of the american girlsI'm I the only one who thinks See The Light is one of the worst songs green day have written?
Sarcasm Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 I'm I the only one who thinks See The Light is one of the worst songs green day have written? No.
DecanoLP Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 I think I'm the only one here hating Dirty Rotten Bastards... This song is just terrible.
HolyHandGrenade Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 I completely agree, should've been released as a single along with east jesus nowhere instead of 21CB and last of the american girls H&H isn't the most radio appropriate song... KNE and 21 Guns both appealed to a wider audience, although KNE should have been replaced by Viva la Gloria or Murder City.
Carrot Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Jackass and Dry Ice are the two best songs I don't really like Lazy Bones I hate the singles on Dookie and American Idiot. Whatsername is a boring song iDos! is the best of the trilogy. Nimrod and Warning are the two best albums The Insomniac version of Good Riddance is better

Sarcasm Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 1039/smooth and Kerplunk is one album to me. The songs are so similar I really couldn't tell the different album styles, which is why I find it baffling that people compare the new music to Kerplunk, when it's SO similar to 1039/smooth.

moonflower93 Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Billie Joe does pretty much all the harmonies in the studio. Even back on the early records. Dookie, American Idiot, The Trilogy, everything. Mike just sings them live with the rest of the guys, and if he records as well, their voices are mixed together, but Billie Joe is loudest. That's what I hear, and I think Billie's voice sounds very different from Mike's, but as there is no definite answer to this in the album credits, it stands as my own personal opinion. And it seems to be an unpopular opinion as people have generally disagreed with me when I've presented it. Don't know why. It seems so obvious to me, and it is futhermore pretty much a standard in every band that the lead singer does the harmonies, cause the voices are meant to blend well together. There is a distinction between Mike and Billie's voice. Only certain songs like American Eulogy, i definitely know it's Mike in the Modern World part. But I think you might be right. with the lead singers having the harmonies.
