Godless Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 You do realize "Knowlege" was written by Operation Ivy, right? Or were you saying that their cover of it was one of the best things that the've done? I do realise that. Hence saying "done" and not "written" I don't like the original version
DannyDirnt Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 I do realise that. Hence saying "done" and not "written" I don't like the original version Me neither, I think Green Day's version is fairly better. Specially live because it's faster.
Godless Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Does anyone else think Horseshoes and Handgrenades is the best song on 21CB, or is that an unpopular opinion of mine?
Sarcasm Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Does anyone else think Horseshoes and Handgrenades is the best song on 21CB, or is that an unpopular opinion of mine?nah, that's pretty popular. An unpopular opinion would be to think that See the Light and Know Your Enemy is the most beautiful songs you've ever heard in your life.
DannyDirnt Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Does anyone else think Horseshoes and Handgrenades is the best song on 21CB, or is that an unpopular opinion of mine? I agree. I would have released it as a single without a doubt.
iScottie Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Does anyone else think Horseshoes and Handgrenades is the best song on 21CB, or is that an unpopular opinion of mine? I think East Jesus Nowhere and Murder City are the best on the album. I would have liked having Restless Heart Syndrome as a single, though.
solongfromthestars Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Everyone is talking about how they desperately need to hear DRB live, and how exciting it is that they played Christie Road. I really don't care about either of them. DRB is okay but Christie Road is like the BOBD of the hardcore fan community for me. I feel bad that I've seen it live and wasn't bothered when so many people are...
Cob Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 "See The Light" is one of the best songs on 21st Century Breakdown. I'm not even joking, that song is amazing.
HolyHandGrenade Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 I rarely listen to Dookie nowadays. Insomniac, Nimrod, and Warning are way better.
musso_kn Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 I rarely listen to Dookie nowadays. Insomniac, Nimrod, and Warning are way better.This. The thing about these three albums is that non singles are at least as good as the singles, if not better. The singles on Dookie outshine the rest of the album by far, apart from maybe Coming Clean, Burnout and F.O.D. The rest of the album is good, yes, but nothing exceptional. Edit: Almost forgot. There's a part of Viva La Gloria! which had melody identical to the one heard in a certain part of Worry Rock.
Bastard of 1969 Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Does anyone think that song "Poprocks and coke" is catchy a lot?

iScottie Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 "See The Light" is one of the best songs on 21st Century Breakdown. I'm not even joking, that song is amazing. I really love the riff during the chorus. Christie Road is okay. I like the song but I would prefer to hear other early Green Day material live instead. Amen. I enjoy the song, but there's a slew of other material I'd rather hear first. It's funny because whenever I see Green Day ask the crowd what they want to hear, it seems that they ALWAYS play Christie Road lol.

I'm completely sick of the singles from Dookie. I barely listen to Basket Case, When I Come Around, Longview, or Welcome to Paradise anymore. They're unbelievably boring. Having A Blast, Emenius Sleepus, She, and Sassafras Roots are some of Green Day's best songs.
Malleus Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Does anyone think that song "Poprocks and coke" is catchy a lot? Catchy and creepy as fuck.
Eva Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Amen. I enjoy the song, but there's a slew of other material I'd rather hear first. It's funny because whenever I see Green Day ask the crowd what they want to hear, it seems that they ALWAYS play Christie Road lol. Same. I saw them live back in '09. They played a few pre-Dookie songs but not as many as I wanted to hear. And they did, of course, play Christie Road haha.

Eva Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Yeah they played it at my show, too. We were spoiled and got Only Of You and F.O.D. too They played Paper Lanterns at the show I went to. They might have played The Judge's Daughter also. I don't remember, exactly. Either way, I still wanted more.

I'm not even joking, that song is amazing. THANK YOU!

colour_me_stupid_ Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Ahhhh. I haven't listened to much of Tre yet! Do like DRB though
Eva Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 What's DRB? Abbreviations always kick my ass.. THANK YOU! Dirty Rotten Bastards. Edit: Never mind. Ceadog got there before I did.
Guest Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Dirty Rotten Bastards. Edit: Never mind. Ceadog got there before I did. Haven't you learned, I always get there first
InvaderPhantom Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 When I Come Around is kinda boring. Well, when I hear it I do get some nostalgic feelings and it's a nice song, and I like the music video, but I never go out of my way to listen to it. And I'm glad Green Day ignores the fact that the song is one of their biggest hits and they don't make it a live staple.
HolyHandGrenade Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Are We The Waiting is boring. I prefer Give Me Novacaine The chorus of Christian's Inferno is amazing. Dearly Beloved should have been a full song.
