TheJesusOfSuburbiaIsALie Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 I think Dos is a good album but when it's compared to Uno and Tre, it's terrible. Most songs on it, in my opinion, is not very memorable. It has good songs but they're very easily forgotten. The only memorable songs on it are Lazy Bones, Stray Heart and Amy. Nightlife is memorable too, you either love it or hate it. I expected a lot from Dos
musso_kn Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Nightlife should have been made into a single instead of Kill the DJ. You know, as the main 'experimental' track from the trilogy that's actually pretty decent.
MaraGreenDay Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 I LOVE THE TRILOGY, MY FAVORITE IT´S ¡DOS!, I THINK THIS ALBUMS ARE MORE ROCK AND ROLL, ALMOST LIKE THE BEATLES, THE ROLLING STONES, BOB DYLAN, THE KINKS, AND OTHER 60s MUSIC, I´M REALLY TIRED OF THIS PEOPLE THAT HATE THE TRILOGY, IT´S LIKE REALLY BORED. THIS TRILOGY SHOWS THAT GREEN DAY IT´S BEYOND THAT JUST ONE GENERE, BILLIE IT´S AN AMAZING SONGWRITER, GREEN DAY ARE AMAZING MUSICIANS, THEY DON´T NEED A GENERE, BECAUSE THEY SHOW THAT THEY CAN DO EVERYTHING, ACUSTIC SONGS, BALLADS, PUNK, FOLK, ROCK AND ROLL, ETC. THEY ARE JUST A GOOD ROCK AND ROLL BAND THAT CAN DO EVERYTHING THAT THEY WANT, AND I HOPE THAT THEY STILL MAKE THINGS LIKE THE TRILOGY IN THE FUTURE. VIVA LA GREEN DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
greendepent Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Rotting is the best song on Shenanigans. Also, Kill the DJ is a good song. Maybe it needs some heavier guitars, but that might be worked out live. Over all, the message of the song and video is really obvious. I really agree with the Kill the dj thing. Some guitars would be great. Like this vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jnrcaOBs_58

Insomniac1984 Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Bullet in a Bible sucks... now kill me!! Brain stew without Jaded??? No way!! They could added it at least on the CD or DVD, the same for she and Maria (It would be cool to listen to an official recording of that song).
Cath Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Bullet in a Bible sucks... now kill me!! Wait... What? Why do you think it sucks?
Comrade Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 I consider Insomniac a terrible album. Except for Walking Contradiction and Geek Stink Breath.
Guest Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 I consider Insomniac a terrible album. Except for Walking Contradiction and Geek Stink Breath. But Bab's Uvula Who?
The Forgotten Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 - "The Forgotten" is amazing. Well thank you, I know I am
Clean Cut Asshole Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 I consider Insomniac a terrible album. Except for Walking Contradiction and Geek Stink Breath. What!? I love that album so much! Insomniac and Dookie are my 2 favorite GD albums! I love every song on it and it's so good! But whatever, everybody has their own opinion, and this is the Unpopular Green Day Opinions thread, so who am I to judge?
Insomniac1984 Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Wait... What? Why do you think it sucks? Well, I think I explained it clearly on my previous post.
RiseDay Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 American Idiot is a very good album and stuff..but the tour sucked. 21st Century Breakdown is a not soo good album..but the tour was amazing. That's why I'm pumped for the Trilogy tour
Cath Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Well, I think I explained it clearly on my previous post. Ohh yes sorry dont know what happened to me

RiseDay Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Does playing at the National Bowl and Giants Stadium suck? They were always tired and I don't like the setlist they had.
Guest Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 The American Idiot tour setlist was probably the most boring setlist they've ever had. Hardly anything that wasn't off International Superhits or American Idiot got played. Bullet In A Bible is an accurate reflection of how dire that tour was.
LazyPhil Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 They were always tired and I don't like the setlist they had. Didn't stop millions of people from coming to the shows
Guest Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 I didn't realise it was a bad setlist. I really enjoyed it but then again, I've never seen them live & I've not gotten through AAF yet. I just think it makes more sense to perform their more popular hits, although I would kill to see Waiting live, it's my favourite song.
RiseDay Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Didn't stop millions of people from coming to the shows Yeha that's right But I don't know..I just didn't enjoy it that much

I was never that keen on Waiting until I watched this performance. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Khot5pRMaow Then I realised that it's a wonderful blend of energy and melancholy...I dunno, it's just such a pretty song, and I think that prettiness really comes through here.

Oh my god I've never seen this before, it's so lovely. Also, Billie is such a fucking derp sometimes oh my god
musso_kn Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Oh my god I've never seen this before, it's so lovely. Also, Billie is such a fucking derp sometimes oh my god Yeah, the 'shut the fuck up!' makes it all the more memorable, too (if that's what you were referencing! )
Guest Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Yeah, the 'shut the fuck up!' makes it all the more memorable, too (if that's what you were referencing! ) That I found pretty funny, typical Billie but it's more the faces he pulls. They're so derpy but kind of adorable? I don't know how he does it but it works. Aaaaand fangirling over.
