munns6691 Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 For Shenanigans I like Suffocate, Desensitized, You Lied, Scumbag, Sick of Me, Rotting, Do Da Da and Ha Ha You're Dead. It's a solid collection.
anna-maria (GD4ever) :) Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 spend some more time on gdc, you'll change your mind haha really?? I'm so not happy to hear that
Spike Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 haha really?? I'm so not happy to hear that I think Hannah was just referring to herself. We're not all as terrible as her.
anna-maria (GD4ever) :) Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 By and large, these are not unpopular opinions. Except for number 10, Mike's voice is pretty stellar. well I actually replied to everyone that replied to this topic through my answer..and yes maybe they're not so unpopular..:/
WhiteTim Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 I kinda cringe whenever I see Shenanigans refered as a real album and not a b side collection... dunno why Here's for unpopular opinion In my opinion 21st is a superior record than AI... I loved 21st (asides from KYE and Christian Inferno) from the day I bought it Where as I only liked selected tracks from AI til a few years ago now I like all the songs on AI but I didnt care for half the record for years
anna-maria (GD4ever) :) Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 I think Hannah was just referring to herself. We're not all as terrible as her. [/quote haha!! To be honest I haven't met many Green Day fans apart from some Greek ones (as I'm fron Greece ) so I would love to meet all of you!! So send me a message whenever u want
Hermione Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Having substance is not a criteria to decide someone's actions. Not that I got butthurt, but you don't say that to someone just because you don't agree with them. Further discourages me that you're taking his side just because he agrees with you. What the hell will I do with a report button if the mod here thinks there is no substance to my posts? How is responding to harsh language and arguments taking matter into one's hands? You don't tell me if I come here or not because I come here on my will. But if you think me coming here hurts your sentiments, suspend me, like you're threatening me to. Good Night. The point of both of you being asked to chill out and stop the discussion wasn't to target you personally, it was just to stop things in this thread getting too heated and filled with bickering. If a mod asks you to stop a conversation in a thread, you stop, and take it PM if you want. If you want to discuss this further with anyone send them a PM. Stop posting about it.
anna-maria (GD4ever) :) Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 You live in Greece? That means you live close to the hottest Green Day fan of them all.... I'm jealous. who is he?? Michalis in santorini island??
Spoopy Doo Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Rotting Is brilliant. Indeed it is. I can see why it was left off of Insomniac, though.
The Disappearing Boy Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 By and large, these are not unpopular opinions. Except for number 10, Mike's voice is pretty stellar. Not when he's singing lead!
Spoopy Doo Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Not when he's singing lead! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IXRpD2HdgA0 That doesn't count http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wR-xt7VY7Cg Skip to 2:42
Insomniac1984 Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Suffocate should have been on Nimrod At last it was a bonus track in Australia On Topic: American Idiot era CD Singles are lame compared to Nimrod/Insomniac/Warning Era.
Spike Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Not when he's singing lead! You would pick the one that's just not a very good song! American Eulogy, Homecoming and his bit in Sex Drugs and Violence are all brilliant. Quite honestly, he makes Dookie for me. It's an average album until you take into account the basslines and, more crucially, his backing vocals. The way he harmonises with Billie is just perfect, and he's really high in the mix a lot of the time, sometimes to the point where you could reasonably consider he and Billie joint lead singers.

Please don't quote videos Yeah he's a great backing singer, undeniable. I never really understood the point in his line in SDV? Why not make it a whole verse? While his lead singing may not be great, I wouldn't mind seeing him do more of it, but I'd rather it were a whole song or verse, rather than just a random line. And yeah, I picked Governator on purpose

As you say, more of it would be great, even just on b sides or whatever. Oh, you.
munns6691 Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 I like the one line on SDV for Mike. It's unique.
Z J Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Just because 21cb and AI have political themes doesn't mean they have the same theme haha. The term "political" has a broad meaning. AI had two songs that specifically talked about politics. There were more songs than that that had "political" themes. 21CB really doesn't talk about politics specifically except for when referencing the past. Also 21cb includes religion which isn't referred to at all in AI. Also the incorporation of an enhanced vocal focus is huge. Idk how one can write that off. Ok I'm done talking about it Anyway, I've said this a million times but Mike is proficient at back up singing but as a lead he'd be restricted to straight punk rock probably. I love his voice on his line in SD&V, that little run he does is fantastic but it is also has a lot of effects on it. He doesn't sound like that live.
HolyHandGrenade Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 At last it was a bonus track in Australia On Topic: American Idiot era CD Singles are lame compared to Nimrod/Insomniac/Warning Era. Also, hands-down the best music videos. Nice Guys Finish Last, Walking Contradiction, Redundant...
Anaïs. Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Also, hands-down the best music videos. Nice Guys Finish Last, Walking Contradiction, Redundant... You forgot the best one!
Jon Herroon Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 I've never liked hungry hungry models...
munns6691 Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Also, hands-down the best music videos. Nice Guys Finish Last, Walking Contradiction, Redundant... Redundant's video isn't that good
Anaïs. Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Redundant's video isn't that good The work that went into making it is astounding, which is why I appreciate it.
HolyHandGrenade Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Redundant's video isn't that good What Praxus said. There's a beautiful simplicity to it that doesn't necessitate much of the extra baggage of most other music videos. I can appreciate it for the "gimmick" that it is.
