10. Mike's voice is not as good as Billie's at all..

I don't think it's contested whether Mike is a better singer, but his harmonies are essential to making Billie sound awesome.

Just because something is commercial does not mean it's not "real."

SHOULDN'T THIS BE IN THE FUCKING ART THREAD.

'Have I ever told you you're a little scary sometimes? Brilliant, but scary!'

Exactly our point.

Apathy = lack of interest, enthusiasm, or concern.

How is that word even applicable in this situation? Redundant, perhaps? Or repetitive?

Apathy because the lack of interest was causing him to repeat his arguments. For the love of god, that wasn't the topic of discussion.

Not like you've been super pleasant through the whole discourse.

Doesn't really change the facts of the matter.

You kidding me, bro? I was talking about the trilogy and nimrod when that 21st cb discussion popped up out of nowhere, from you.

And let me clear this one last time:

"The integration of soft falsettos, strings, and piano in to 21CB set it apart from AI right away. You also don't have any 9 minutes songs on 21cb, you have two on AI. And there's the shift in focus to vocals for 21cb. AI did not have nearly as many vocal-focused songs. They're vastly different. "

Listen to the composition of the songs, the themes of the songs and the overall arrangements of the tracks. I'm not some expert in music but even for a layman like me, both the albums have similarities on all the three aspects. lol they sound the same does not mean every instrumental aspect of the album is similar, but there is a lot more to the album than its mere arrangement of strings or piano and you should understand that. Both primarily explore the themes of political injustice. If you really want to get to the instrumental arrangements, both these albums explored the use of additional guitar in their sound and the bassline was given a less significance. As far as the 9 minute track is concerned, they did try the same concept out in Breakdown with American Eulogy. Just because its not 9 minutes does not mean its not similar. Now don't tell me how the lyrics are different or there is an importance on vocals. If I tell you that the sky is blue, you don't tell me "Are you fucking blind? the sky's color is red in the evenings and black at night." The sky is fucking blue, deal with it. I don't need to spoon feed you with the additional data that I'm talking about afternoons. You should be smart enough to know that.

Call me an idiot, arrogant or deaf for all I care but you cannot say that to me just because I don't agree with you.

If you're going to start complaining about the composition of the songs, you've already lost, because the Trilogy is some of the most recycled music Green Day has ever done. Also, "Don't tell me how the lyrics are different?" Isn't this coming form the guy who was complaining about the lack of lyrics in "Last Ride In" showing its lack of creativity? Fucking hell, man.

Did I rape your dog or murder your father? Then why the hell you so pissed? Relax

I was talking in respect of comparing two songs, not creativity. Just don't talk. You're lowering the IQ of the whole forum.

Not pissed, just rather bewildered.

Some of the songs on 21st sort of remind me of others on AI like East Jesus and Holiday or 21 Guns and Wake Me Up. It kind of bothers me cause I feel like they were written to be those songs on 21st ya know? But on a whole AI and 21st are pretty different in almost everyway, 21st is like the spiritual successor of AI and it definitely showed a lot of progression in their sound and writing IMO. But AI is superior and probably the best album they'll ever make which I'm okay with. If they ever released something that really trumped AI my head would explode! But it'd be worth it.

Remember you're only discussing music guys, try not to take things personally and try to be civil to each other please.

I customized my phone with the background of Uno, Dos, and Tré. I have on my phone some backgrounds based on the trilogy. The backgrounds are colored, beautiful and cute. So I can customize my phone with backgrounds that I want. I also have animated gifs of Uno, Dos and Tré, that can be used as a screensaver. Always in my phone I set it as a ringing tone the song Oh Love, message alert tone while as I set Kill The DJ. I created with my phone a style based on Uno, Dos, and Tré, and I am very happy to have something original. Here's the background that I have in my phone. What do you think?

As a model of cell phone, I have a Nokia 3110 Classic in black for almost 5 years (since 2009). With Micro SD of 2 GB where I keep all the things that I downloaded of Uno, Dos, and Tré: backgrounds, wallpapers, music, etc.

I see you've already made a thread for your graphics in the Brink Of Your Vision section. In future that's the only place you should post them, you're not supposed to post them in random threads. This is the "Unpopular Green Day Opinions" thread so it's only for posting/discussing unpopular opinions about Green Day :)

I think the connection between East Jesus and Holiday is overblown. East Jesus is much more of a ferocious march, and the guitars give it an Eastern feel that's nowhere present on Holiday. Plus their subjects are completely different.

The only similarities are that they both have a swung/tripleted feel and similar structures. The key, chord progressions, melodies and lyrical content are all completely different.

I think his use of the words "fucking hell, man," was meant to convey a supreme sense of bafflement with your reasoning.

It wasn't about the "fucking hell, man".But, If I ever get offended with those words, send me to Shutter Island. :)

And this is in accordance with the sarcastic remarks you're throwing at me at regular intervals of time-

You've already been asked to drop this.

I voluntarily dropped it a long time ago, but many people haven't yet.

And then you voluntarily brought it back up. You've all been asked to stop, if anyone makes things personal again including you, I'm not above handing out suspensions. This is ridiculous. Keep it civil.

He called me fucking deaf. How I'm I the one bringing it back up if he uses such harsh words? No intention to argue but do whatever the hell you like. Hand me a suspension for all I care. I'm sick of this place anyway.

Getting back to the thread title...

I really don't get the big deal about Shenanigans. Lots of GD fans I know think it's the greatest thing ever, but the only songs on it I bother re-listening to are "Espionage" and "Ha Ha You're Dead".

I'm not defending what he said, but maybe he wouldn't have done that if there was any substance to your claims. If someone insults you and you feel it's unjustified, use the report button. Taking matters into your own hands will just lead to you being punished as well. If you're so sick of this place it's not like anyone is forcing you to come here. End of discussion.

Both of which happen to be amazing songs. I liked Scumbag too. Shenanigans is awesome as a b-side collection.

Suffocate should have been on Nimrod

Having substance is not a criteria to decide someone's actions. Not that I got butthurt, but you don't say that to someone just because you don't agree with them. Further discourages me that you're taking his side just because he agrees with you. What the hell will I do with a report button if the mod here thinks there is no substance to my posts? How is responding to harsh language and arguments taking matter into one's hands? You don't tell me if I come here or not because I come here on my will. But if you think me coming here hurts your sentiments, suspend me, like you're threatening me to. Good Night.

Desensitized, Suffocate, Espionage & Ha Ha You're Dead are the best 4 of Shenanigans, fuckin love 'em.

If D.U.I. counts, I love the accordion and how it has an even darker humor than Ha Ha You're Dead

This this this this this. On the whole it's a pretty shoddy collection, especially compared to album tracks. That said, it's nice to have a b sides collection from them, but beyond those four tracks it's nothing special.

YES. they pretty much make that CD. i couldn't name any other tracks off there, outside of Don't Wanna Fall In Love (which is alright).
