What? I mean, I like black and yellow together, but black and red/purple/pink are superior. Yellow is like fourth place.

Yep.

Yellow is a colour that can just go die in a hole anyway. Vile in all circumstances.

Angel Blue is one of my favorite trilogy songs. Most of the tracks from Uno, Dos, and Tre were all around the same speed upon first listen(outliers being Wild One, Drama Queen, etc..) but Angel Blue was a step up - If they were to replace Jaded or St. Jimmy in a set list, it'd have to be this. It's one of the few songs that I specifically enjoy the guitar playing and tone on as well. I also maintain that Let Yourself Go is an improved Know Your Enemy.

Black and gold (the superior yellow) is classy

Angel Blue is fucking amazing. Catchy as shit.

Know Your Enemy is a degraded version of American Idiot.

I feel like Know Your Enemy just isn't worth comparing to at all.

So, on the topic of the trilogy, apparently people are really into Rusty James? I mean, it's a great song, but no where near my favorites from the trilogy.

Yeah Rusty James in my opinion is one of the better on Uno, but far from best on the trilogy overall.

I won't get into defending know your enemy at the moment, which i usually do every time its brought up, im short on time ;) , but hey...thats one of my favorites....

Rusty James is the highlight of the second half of Uno, but that ain't all that difficult to be honest!

I think fans like to sugarcoat Billie and make him out to be a family-friendly rock star, or unsullied hero, or angel or something. Drug abuse and alcoholism don't exactly fit into that version of Billie.

Once you start to get a particular image of someone, it can be crushing to find out that they don't fit the mold that you subconsciously put them in. And really, this happens with everyone, not just with celebrities. As you get to know new friends or co-workers or even your own family members, eventually you will always come across something that makes you question who you thought they were. That's just particularly hard to deal with when it's a case like Billie, where he is so adored and has helped so many fans. It's hard to make a "new" version of Billie fit into the image you've held of him for years, even if you previously acknowledged that he was less than angelic.

Even though there is SO much evidence scattered throughout Billie's songs that point to his problems, I don't think anyone took it so literal until shit hit the fan. I mean, he flat out stated that the Jesus of Suburbia and St. Jimmy were both a part of him. It's just that most people acknowledged the Jesus of Suburbia side and turned a blind eye to the idea that he also had St. Jimmy living in him. As someone else mentioned, it is possible to have that mess of contradictions, of being a family man and an addict. But since we don't see that very often, it is difficult to put those images together into one person.

There's a highlight to the second half of Uno? I didn't even know there was a second half of Uno, it kind of gets to Kill The DJ then stops existing.

This is why it's my least favourite album. It starts off so well (with the exception of Carpe Diem - that's awful), but from then on it is just boring. Rusty James ain't too bad though, they've produced much worse.

i'm lucky i was able too see rusty james live no doubt it's one of the best of the trilogy

it was definitely muuuuuuch better live. Pretty much all the trilogy songs theyve played live sound better than the originals. minus x-kid and stray heart, --for those I think the studio versions sound better.

Whats wrong with Rusty James?

And unpopular opinion: songs 7-12 on Uno are better than 1-6

Sorry Stay The Night is #2 and it is million times better than ANY of the 7-12 tracks...

I like Rusty James. Not the best on the album I don't think (Stay the Night, Nuclear Family, and Angel Blue are my top three) but it's a cool little song. I really like the "your heart can't even break if it doesn't even pound" line. The song definitely has some substance, at least.

I def like Stay the Night, it's the best on UNO, but there's nothing much around it. Nuclear Family isn't as good as it should be. The combination of Rusty James, Loss of Control, Sweet 16, Angel Blue and Oh Love outweight a single song, if we're talking about the album as a whole.

Troublemaker Loss Of Control and Sweet 16 arent great songs tho not horrible songs

I hate Stay the Night. Boring as fuck. Practically everything else on Uno is better.

Kill The DJ is a lot like some Clash songs to me. Nothing bad about it.

Except that Strummer had more lyrical talent/common sense than to shout obscenities into the mike and then having the audacity to call it a chorus.

SOMEONE KILL THE DJ, SHOOT THE FUCKING DJ.

SOMEONE KILL THE DJ, SHOOT THE FUCKING DJ.

SOMEONE KILL THE DJ, SHOOT THE FUCKING DJ.

VOICES IN MY HEAD ARE SAYING "SHOOT THAT FUCKER DOWN."

Nope, nothing wrong here :P
