AlissaGoesRAWR Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 I enjoy American Idiot's B-sides and rarities much more than its singles (excluding JoS) (Shoplifter, Too Much Too Soon, Favorite Son, and Governator) Oh, I was talking about the album artwork (sorry if that was unclear!)... But yes, I enjoy Too Much Too Soon a lot! It's one of my favorite songs!
tdlyon Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Too Much Too Soon and Favorite Son are fantastic. I can take or leave Shoplifter and Governator is terrible.
Spike Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Too Much Too Soon and Favorite Son are fantastic. I can take or leave Shoplifter and Governator is terrible. Too Much Too Soon is as good as anything on American Idiot. I think the only reason it's not on there is because it wouldn't fit anywhere. I hate to admit it, but Governator indeed isn't that great. I love it when Mike sings lead so I struggle to admit that I don't like that song!
HolyHandGrenade Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Too Much Too Soon and Favorite Son are fantastic. I can take or leave Shoplifter and Governator is terrible. I'll take it for its humor element Plus Mike sings Too Much Too Soon is as good as anything on American Idiot. I think the only reason it's not on there is because it wouldn't fit anywhere. I hate to admit it, but Governator indeed isn't that great. I love it when Mike sings lead so I struggle to admit that I don't like that song! It could have fit next to St. Jimmy or Letterbomb, but those songs were definitely more tangential
Spoopy Doo Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 I enjoy American Idiot's B-sides and rarities much more than its singles (excluding JoS) (Shoplifter, Too Much Too Soon, Favorite Son, and Governator) Wasn't When It's Time from the AI era as well?
Spike Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Wasn't When It's Time from the AI era as well? It was released in 2010 along with the musical soundtrack album. It's a damn old song though, I'm not quite sure how far back it goes but I'm sure someone here will know. I think it was around Kerplunk, before Billie and Adie were married.

I think he wrote it when he was 16? Can't remember where I heard that.
WhiteTim Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 I remember reading he wrote it shortly after getting with Adi
OhTheGuilt. Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Hey guys, I love the forgotten, when its time and dos. Cum at meh And I love you.
Jollyroger118 Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 He also played When It's Time at Mikes wedding. Bet that was cool
Z J Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 They put it in the musical but it was written long before they were famous. Unpopular opinion....hm.... ok I got it: I love Foreverly. It is not really my style of music. But the harmonies are so incredible. And the lyrics are haunting at times. It isn't something I'm going to listen to a lot, I need to be in the right mood. The reason I really like it is because I like the motivation Billie had for doing it. Him wanting to take all this incredibly old and obscure music and introduce a generation of fans to this music is admirable. Because of the album, I ended up checking out the Everly Brothers. And it showed me a part of rock n roll history. So I thank Billie for that, he was spot on.
Asa. Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Man this thread is getting old. I think you're upset because you don't like people disagreeing with you
HolyHandGrenade Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Man this thread is getting old. relevant lyrics https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TdIRrmNN_CQ

Man this thread is getting old. No it's not, you just don't know how to use it. I know this because I've made more posts in this thread than you have overall.
munns6691 Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Is Oh Love a more arena rock version of When I Come Around
DookieLukie Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 I think you're upset because you don't like people disagreeing with you Oh yeah? Did I say that? I said it's getting old because people just say random minor things that they see as unpopular.
Spike Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Oh yeah? Did I say that? I said it's getting old because people just say random minor things that they see as unpopular. People expressing unpopular Green Day opinions? In a thread entitled unpopular Green Day opinions? What ever are we going to do?
Guest Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 People expressing unpopular Green Day opinions? In a thread entitled unpopular Green Day opinions? What ever are we going to do? It's okay, no one ever accused DookieLukie of being overly bright. Just let it go
The Disappearing Boy Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Is Oh Love a more arena rock version of When I Come Around These two songs must never be compared again.
Morning_zombie Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 I think trilogy would be MUCH better, if it had havier guitars. They ruined almost comletely stay the night for me. But I must admit that some of new songs would lose their charm with havier guitars (x kid, oh love). Trilogy contains some of the best music they ever written. I think it has much more soul in it, then 21cb. With better production trilogy could be very succseful. Oh love is a terrible lead single, especcialy when there is a lot of awesome songs on Uno. Also music video sucks. Kill the dj is much better. Dos is very underrated, it is my favorite from trilogy. Warning is excellent. Take back is awesome. That guitar riff thou Insomniac is awesome, but I don't like walking contradiction much. It has the best music video though.
Mykee Mexx Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 "Last Ride In" imo is one of their best songs ever. Wonder whether they really played it themselves...
JOE THE X-KID Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 "Last Ride In" imo is one of their best songs ever. Wonder whether they really played it themselves... Can't tell whether you're bring serious, but I love last ride in. I think it's a cool bridge between the two sections of the album.

Serious, sure. I mean it. I love Last Ride In, but didn´t find other people who liked it. So I´m glad I found you. Seriously. Once I watched a video where BJ tried to play the song and totally ruined it. Since then I question myself whether they played it themselves. Found the video:
