WhiteTim Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 If I buy a cd of Bif will you shut up bout em Cea?
munns6691 Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Give me 3 bif songs to listen to so i can have an opinion
Certified Nimrod Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 And Simple plan fucking sucks too. I agreed with everything else you said. An angry song contains unnecessary swearing?! Holy shit. Nah, the issue with that song is the fact the guitars sound like crap. Try this: Not helped by the fact that 60,000 people singing "I wanna be the minority" is kind of ridiculous, of course
walking_c0ntradicti0n Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Are you really saying you've never heard the Bif? I don't even dislike them, at all, I'm just bored of Ceadog going on about them yes, that is exactly what im saying.
Spike Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Try this: Yeah, other than Nuclear Family and Stay The Night, I'll only listen to the Dookiefied versions of Uno. The difference the guitar sound makes is insane. yes, that is exactly what im saying. I'd recommend checking them out but I don't want to be the one to usurp Ceadog's position. Give me 3 bif songs to listen to so i can have an opinion Folding Stars, Many Of Horror and Biblical.
Z J Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 I agreed with everything else you said. Simple Plan? Dude...
munns6691 Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Okay so after listening to those 3 Biffy songs i can say I like them they're pretty good, but the way you guys talk about them left me confused. I'm not sure they're any more special than Green Day (personally I'll listen to both but pick Green Day first). They're good but it wasn't anything I haven't heard before. He just tends to sing in an offbeat pattern instead of one that is more in line with the rhythm
WhiteTim Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Unpopular opinion Simple Plan is so much better than Green Day if only they had 1% of Simple Plans talent... Joke
Z J Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Biffy is much better at diversifying then Green Day is but their music isn't as melodic or accessible, nor are the lyrics. Both great bands but there is a reason Green Day has been able to stay around for this long and its because they can capture a complex issue or feeling with simple, powerful lyrics. They relate to people better

They pretty proggy at times, which I think is why they're considered so diverse musically. It's not my place to defend them though, I'm only aware of them, rather than a fan
Mar Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Blood Sex and Booze is an example of how they could have done dos, but instead we get Makeout Party. This perfect use of one of my favorite songs contrasting one of my least favorite songs <3 seriously, Blood, Sex and Booze is so underrated IMO, and like you said, it's a great example of how to sound down and dirty without being super try-hard.

Listen to Wave upon wave upon wave or stress on the sky. But anyway back on topic, Last of the American girls is a brilliant song.
Guest Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Folding Stars, Many Of Horror and Biblical. Duuuuuuude, you picked like their 3 worst/weakest songs Give me 3 bif songs to listen to so i can have an opinion If I buy a cd of Bif will you shut up bout em Cea? Only if you listen to it Biffy is much better at diversifying then Green Day is but their music isn't as melodic or accessible, nor are the lyrics. Hermione Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 MOUNTAINS LIVE AT WEMBLEY OH JESUS And yeah, I'm the biggest Green Day fangirl there is (within the bounds of reason at least) and even I admit that Biffy is better than Green Day Biggest Green Day fangirl title revoked!
JOE THE X-KID Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 In think it'd be cool if the artwork for Green days next album was really simple and old school, something like Kerplunk and Cartoony
The Disappearing Boy Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 There's a difference between being a fangirl and being delusional Really?
AlissaGoesRAWR Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 This perfect use of one of my favorite songs contrasting one of my least favorite songs <3 seriously, Blood, Sex and Booze is so underrated IMO, and like you said, it's a great example of how to sound down and dirty without being super try-hard. BSB — Sexy as hell without really trying. Makeout Party — Ehh... no. Although admittedly once in a great while I'll jam to Makeout Party just 'cause I can. I'm not repulsed by it like Nightlife or anything.
munns6691 Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Green Day still outdoes Biffy with lyrics flow and melody, which is what I value most in songs I think
Anaïs. Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 At this point I don't think I'll ever be able to like Biffy Clyro, because every time I try to listen to one of their songs all I can think is "FUCKING STOP IT, CEADOG"
Guest Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 At this point I don't think I'll ever be able to like Biffy Clyro, because every time I try to listen to one of their songs all I can think is "FUCKING STOP IT, CEADOG" Ceri has this exact problem, she refuses to listen to them now
ing Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 I really like 21CB, and don't see why it's so unpopular. I don't even hate Christian's Inferno to be honest, I really like the 'ha ha ha's' after the chorus. Also I'm not sure how much of an unpopular opinion this is but I LOVE Pulling Teeth, probably my favourite off Dookie. And I love Ashley (especially the pre-chorus/bridge bit omg)
walking_c0ntradicti0n Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 At this point I don't think I'll ever be able to like Biffy Clyro, because every time I try to listen to one of their songs all I can think is "FUCKING STOP IT, CEADOG" i think that issue might be contagious, i just got that thought in my head too. Honestly their new stuff is just bland rock compared to their older stuff., that is where the real genius lies. Listen to Wave upon wave upon wave or stress on the sky. But anyway back on topic, Last of the American girls is a brilliant song. well, yea.
Spike Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Duuuuuuude, you picked like their 3 worst/weakest songs You say that like it wasn't intentional just to piss you off. And yeah, I'm the biggest Green Day fangirl there is (within the bounds of reason at least) and even I admit that Biffy is better than Green Day In think it'd be cool if the artwork for Green days next album was really simple and old school, something like Kerplunk and Cartoony I agree with this. Simplicity has a lot more impact if it's done well. You don't need to look further than American Idiot to see that.
Certified Nimrod Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Simple Plan? Dude... Hey, they're one of the reasons I got into music.
Anaïs. Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 I agree with this. Simplicity has a lot more impact if it's done well. You don't need to look further than American Idiot to see that. Only if it's artful simplicity, though. Not crappy Instagram photos with x's for eyes.
