I think maybe X-kid is slightly too fast live, kinda sucks the emotion out of it.

I noticed the speed live when they played St. Jimmy. God damn. That's fast.

One song the increased tempo works wonders for is Minority

Minority has to be faster though, when they were doing it in 2004/5 they still managed to make it 8 minutes long!

I've always liked how Tre used a metronome for BOBD, it kept the tempo nice and slow, as it should be. It really loses a lot of power when there's no tremolo guitar in it, which also gives them the freedom to play it faster. I don't think it helps it at all.

It's that long because of extra activities like re-introducing the band and harmonica solos. The speed of the verse/chorus has remained fairly consistent. BOBD is a perfect example of a song that proves they don't have to speed up songs live. They stay pretty true to the record as far as tempo goes. And it works better that way.

I think Billie Joe Armstrong looks amazingly better in a yellow tie than a red one.

I don't think I've ever actually seen him wear a yellow tie.

The red tie was kind of the whole point of the AI era, though. Cause the colours of the album were... well, black and red. It's kind of a staple.

I don't think he has. James opened a thread recently where he'd Photoshopped the red one yellow.

Either way I'm really bored of hearing this opinion, especially since it's so trivial but still wrong.

If anyone should wear black and yellow it should be Kurt Lohmiller. Oh, wait.

Didn't we just have this discussion? Glad you like the thought of Billie dressed as a bumblebee :)

I opened a poll about it and it got closed very quickly. :)

I don't think I care about anything less than I care about BJA's choice of neck strangler.

Jeff Matika's socks?

Jeff Matika's socks?

No, I'm interested in those, because they have traces of pigeon DNA from where he kicked them. He can't hide from Animal Services forever.

Me too. It doesn't bother me as much as it did during the 21st CBD era for some reason. I love it live, but I no longer see the reason why I always said that was my least favourite GD song.

I'm sure many people will some day feel the same about Oh Love.

It ain't easy being a first single off an album.

I already dread the next new album single that I will get so hyped about, overplay, resent, and some day appreciate in my old age.

I've always loved "Oh Love"

As have I. It's a bloody awful single choice, and the lyrics are substandard, but the instruments are great.

i love it too. i kinda dislike it live though..........

Agreed. That guitar solo sounds like it should translate into epic live sound, but it just... doesn't.

Although saying that, i do love the Red 7 version..but usually its kind of dull....

Yeah, I feel like it's the least exciting song on the set... If enough people knew the lyrics to it, it would probably have a bigger effect but meh. I just think it was an awful single choice.

I surprisingly really loved Oh Love live! Thought it'd be a duller moment at Shepherds Bush but it wasn't, something about the tempo of it made it a really good singing/swaying along song. The whole crowd was into it, it was great. Probably helped that it was one of only two new songs they'd put out at that point and that the show was crazily intense and boiling hot so we all badly needed a rest, but still.

The whole crowd -1 :P It was a great opportunity to get water from security and rest on the barrier...exactly because the show was crazily intense and boiling hot...and Oh Love is SO boring lol. I'm glad they play it live for the rest factor but that's kind of lame really haha

Haha maybe there was more room for swaying a bit further back :P. It was fun doing that (and having enough breath to sing along properly) after the relentless jumping/shoving/being crushed etc.
