JOE THE X-KID Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 I absolutely agree, I thought they were both great shows and would have loved to have been there. However, I can say, hand on heart, that I was a bit worried after the surprise show at Reading last year, where I thought he looked really run down and ill. I kept thinking and hoping that it was just because it was relatively early in the morning and they had been so busy, but then the collapse and the admittance to hospital happened (with dehydration) and then I was REALLY worried. Not that I saw iHeart coming or anything, but I was a bit worried. Honest, I was. Reading 2012 was such a brilliant show but yeah he did look exhausted
Spike Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 I was watching the iHeart gig live stream and quite honestly I was worried long before the end. By the second or third song it was obvious something was amiss, he just wasn't acting like himself and Mike didn't really look to be enjoying himself. Even if the meltdown hadn't happened at the end he'd probably have ended up in rehab. iHeart was by far the worst I've ever seen him perform, and it's not like going on stage drunk or stoned was anything new. But yeah, I struggle to believe people who claim to have seen it coming weeks or months in advance. Anything before Reading and it's just people confusing hindsight for what they actually thought at the time.
Anaïs. Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 I actually didn't even know the meltdown had happened until the next day or so, and even then when I saw the headline I thought, "Oh, it's just Billie being Billie." Then I started watching the video and immediately realized he was drunk, and that this wasn't just something funny. That's actually why I joined this forum in the first place, to keep tabs on everyone's reactions to the situation. Unpopular opinion: I don't understand the love for "Stay the Night".

Oxymore Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Does anybody have the Reading 2012 in full ? I only have the 2013's.
Spike Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Stay The Night is one of their best songs overall in my opinion. The studio intro sucks but after that it's fantastic. That instrumental breakdown is the single most immersive bit of the trilogy, and it's one of the best set of lyrics Billie has ever written. Plus that pre chorus chord progression, as generic as it is, is bloody incredible in the context of the song. And those backing vocals in the chorus, oh my god I can't even. Does anybody have the Reading 2012 in full ? I only have the 2013's. It's on YouTube at the very least - http://youtu.be/eE792Qi8jcE

Spike Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 It last only a half hour ? Oh, I missed that, oops! They're the official BBC highlights though. Not sure if there'll be any more pro shot stuff but I might be wrong.
Oxymore Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 And talking about Stay the Night, to me it's one of the best songs of the trilogy. They are no many songs that I absolutely love on the three albums but Stay the Night . Oh, I missed that, oops! They're the official BBC highlights though. Not sure if there'll be any more pro shot stuff but I might be wrong. Yeah I think it's the only thing I can have about the Reading 2012, cause I found the 2013 easily, but thank you anyway !

Spike Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Made by Idiotic Tendency on here. Enjoy. Oh my god that's made my life! Good work Mr Tendency! So, so much better. It speaks volumes that they scrap the studio intro live. Way for them to believe in their work
Oxymore Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 It feels weird to hear it like that, but it's cool
Certified Nimrod Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Unpopular opinion: I don't understand the love for "Stay the Night". Seriously? I love it lol. The pre-chorus is really fun on guitar (even though its simple ) Does anybody have the Reading 2012 in full ? I only have the 2013's. Did you check the download section? It speaks volumes that they scrap the studio intro live. Way for them to believe in their work What do you mean?
Certified Nimrod Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 They change the intro live. I know that lol I don't understand what he meant by "It speaks volumes that they scrap the studio intro live. Way for them to believe in their work."
Anaïs. Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 I know that lol I don't understand what he meant by "It speaks volumes that they scrap the studio intro live. Way for them to believe in their work." They clearly don't think the studio version is the best possible version of the song if they refuse to play the song that way live.
WhiteTim Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 It last only a half hour ? They didn't play a full set
Certified Nimrod Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 They clearly don't think the studio version is the best possible version of the song if they refuse to play the song that way live. Oh, I see I thought you meant that you were saying that they didn't like the way they played it live lol. They did play it without the drums at Irving Plaza, though.
Guest Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 They did play it without the drums at Irving Plaza, though. Cocaine is a helluva drug.
Oxymore Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Cocaine is a helluva drug. I know I'm not excellent in english but...
Guest Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 wat I know I'm not excellent in english but... I was implying that Billie was too out of it to follow the pre-arranged setlist so they did it without the drum lead in.
Oxymore Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 I was implying that Billie was too out of it to follow the pre-arranged setlist so they did it without the drum lead in. Ah, okay (EDIT I got for points under my avat yay)
