Spike Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 And those people who complain because Green Day never change Not that there's any of those around here And those who do both! "Green Day never do anything different with the live set it's so stale and boring." "Oh my god they've played Dookie in full so many times recently it's so stale and boring."
Oxymore Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 And those people who complain because Green Day never change I never heard stuff like that before, what a bullshit. Contrary, I always hear people complaining that Green-Day-isn't-punk-anymore, that makes me so mad. Yeah they changed their music style, but are still the same onstage. And how people can complain of something like that ?

Spike Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Because they never stray far from 4 chord verse verse chorus verse chorus solo verse rock songs? Uptight says hi
Guest Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Uptight says hi You mean the song that's even simpler because it's just verse verse chorus solo chorus?
Oxymore Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Because they never stray far from 4 chord verse verse chorus verse chorus solo verse rock songs? Oh yeah, I forgot that ;p . But I'm mainly talking about their lives, where even songs that I dislike become awesome. (or almost )
Spike Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 You mean the song that's even simpler because it's just verse verse chorus solo chorus? Yes
Jollyroger118 Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 It does drive me crazy that people are on Billie's ass now with the whole substance abuse thing. I mean yeah he needs to be healthy and Iheart was bad because he was so trashed it affected his playing but people make it like he hasn't been smoking snorting and drinking whatever their whole career. He can handle himself and nobody on here knows what he does or doesn't do but if it ever came out that he was using something again people would freak the fuck out.
naliuj Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 I personally think Billie Joe's signature red tie-black shirt should be yellow tie-black shirt, because he looks more like a bad ass like that. well that was his signature in the american idiot tour. i don't think he's worn that since then. please correct me if i'm wrong.
fromdecimateddreams Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 well that was his signature in the american idiot tour. i don't think he's worn that since then. please correct me if i'm wrong. I know sometimes he'll throw on a red tie when they play St. Jimmy live if he's wearing a black t-shirt or something. I've seen him do that a couple times.
Iva Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Quick breakdown is Billie said Adrienne suggested Norah and some fans tweeted her thanking her for it some of the Adie haters on here was bashing her for "taking credit" til mods told folks to knock it off My brain melted after reading this line. I think I'm a chicken now. Rockadoodledoo.
Z J Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Not always, though. In some cases ("East Jesus Nowhere", "Christie Road") you can clearly hear the pitch being shifted up and down. Whatever you hear, it isn't something done in the recording studio. The fan recordings of the show really sound the same. Hahaha "Gotta get away, or my brains will explode," that line gets me every time, I always think whoever did the pitch correction or whatever there should be fired listening to the song on my Bose, not hearing anything absurd. At all
Clockwise Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 I'm pretty sure Billie tweeted a while back that there was not any pitch correction on AAF. EDIT- Yup Billie Joe Armstrong @BJAofficial13 Apr 11 By the way, there are NO overdubs on awesome as fuck. 100 percent live! Same as bullet in a bible.. Some bands cheat on live records

Clockwise Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Not to be a pedantic twat but he didn't say anything about pitch edits Haha that's true, maybe he's not including pitch correction. I'm assuming by saying '100 percent live' he was including that as well, but who knows

WhiteTim Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Can you teach me about what's a overdub please ? I can't find that word on ditionaries and stuff. Over dubbing is recording an extra track over an existing track Say you recorded a traxk and you then decide you want to record an extra guitar part over an section you'd record the guitar over the recorded part
JOE THE X-KID Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Honestly though, there is definitely some kind of editing done. I'm sure it wasn't Green Days decision....fuckin' major labels.

naliuj Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Not sure if this is really an unpopular opinion but loads of people seem to believe it so... it's such bullshit when fans are all "oh I knew something was wrong at Irving Plaza" or "I felt it in the air at Shepherd's Bush". No you didn't, everyone was all over that Irving Plaza gig saying Billie was "on fire" and not one person said they noticed something at Shepherd's Bush before the rehab thing. In my opinion all the pre-rehab shows were awesome. Or what I've seen on youtube and heard about them. probably the most popular opinion on gdc lol. then i should say that i quite like it. well just as an experimental song. i wouldn't want green day doing any more like that lol.

Barring I noticed that he had a really dirty face on his Instagram posts, I mean he looked like a stoned skeleton (imaginative, right ?) but that's all. Rehab happened and it's the quite last thing we expected. That said, to me post-rehab shows are far better than before. It's great to know they are able to have fun without getting inevitably fucked up.

He looks a lot less tired at the end of gigs to me.
Oxymore Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 This. He can sing and play far better and puts on just as good a show aside from the music. He looks a lot less tired at the end of gigs to me. Yeah. I saw a lot of shows in my short life, maybe a hundred - all on Youtube, that,s why YT is fantastic. But still, I'm sure there's something different there, more respect from the crowd, maybe, and the ''we're all still alive [location name]'' always moves me. Maybe I'm a fangirl, but for sure, I know I would prefer to see them now than before. And correct if I'm wrong, I think I've seen BJ drinking Coca during the FBHT Halloween show, right ?

I absolutely agree, I thought they were both great shows and would have loved to have been there. However, I can say, hand on heart, that I was a bit worried after the surprise show at Reading last year, where I thought he looked really run down and ill. I kept thinking and hoping that it was just because it was relatively early in the morning and they had been so busy, but then the collapse and the admittance to hospital happened (with dehydration) and then I was REALLY worried. Not that I saw iHeart coming or anything, but I was a bit worried.Honest, I was.
