Hermione Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 I dunno which I prefer. I love the lyrics of Drama Queen but I'm not much of a fan of acoustic songs so that knocks it down quite a lot. It's tied with Little Boy Named Train as my least favourite on Tre, both are still alright though. I'd love to hear the version of Drama Queen they recorded for 21st CB, I'm presuming it wouldn't have been acoustic and it would've been all 21st CB-y so I bet it was great. You asked a dumb as fuck question, it deserved a dumb as fuck answer. More like he asked an obviously rhetorical question and you gave it an answer anyway

JOE THE X-KID Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 I genuinely don't understand the hate on A Little Boy Named Train :/ it's my favorite song from ¡Tré! to be quite honest... (Incoming hate) i love it!
Spike Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 Little Boy Named Train does have one redeeming feature - it's better than anything on Dos.
Guest Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 Little Boy Named Train does have one redeeming feature - it's better than anything on Dos. Lazy Bones
Spike Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 shut up Dos is made of pure gold Maybe the gold that Roger from American Dad shits out. Anyway, you like Know Your Enemy.
The Disappearing Boy Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 Yes, our personal opinions and preferences are all incorrect, because your personal opinion and preference rules supreme Pretty much how it works It was a stupid rhetorical question anyway Or was it?
Guest Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 Maybe the gold that Roger from American Dad shits out. Anyway, you like Know Your Enemy. SO?! KYE is amazing live, the crowd goes nuts over it. and Dos is a good party album, something to lose your shit to and go crazy.

Honestly, if the album version was like the live version, with serious balls, high energy, great atmosphere and Billie's insane soloing then I might go for it a bit more. But it just doesn't. Do I know my enemy? Yes Billie, I do, there's no need to ask me that an average of once every 12 seconds for the duration of the song. And I might like Dos in a parallel universe, but I don't like fun
Guest Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 Dos Stop Drop & Roll is a good party album, something to lose your shit to and go crazy. Dos' existence just depresses me.
Guest Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 don't worry ceri, i love dos too ......and I like it too! dos is fabulous it's easily the best from the Trilogy, it's full of party anthems, shit that makes you wanna go out, get totally wankered and fuck. shit. up. which is exactly what i needed from Green Day.

But Lazy Bones is just about the biggest anti-party anthem ever written Fuck Time could have been written by any horny 16 year old (actually, most of the songs Billie wrote as a horny 16 year old are vastly superior to Fuck Time). SWTRLF, well, the only lyrics I remember from that are "I'LL MERK U SERRENDURRR" repeated about 4 million times, so I'm not sure whats going on there. Stray Heart is just a Mother Mary rip off. And then there's Makeout Party, which sounds like Billie gate-crashed a 13 year old's slumber party, and Lady Cobra, which I assume is about shagging her, I dunno. Same goes for Nightlife. Pretty sure Ashley is "don't go out with this girl, she'll make you do meth", and fuck knows what Baby Eyes is about. And finally there's Amy, a cringey acoustic ballad in which a coke addict cries about how a dead coke fiend wasn't his friend. Yep, perfect for any party.
Hermione Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 repping for the Rebel Wilson gif but come on, you can't deny that Stop Drop and Roll accomplishes the exact same purpose 110% better!! I think they both do it really well, just differently. Stop Drop And Roll is the 60s version and Dos is the new version with a darker edge.
Guest Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 Couldn't agree more! i knew i liked you repping for the Rebel Wilson gif but come on, you can't deny that Stop Drop and Roll accomplishes the exact same purpose 110% better!! REBEL WILSON UGH BABE. i much prefer Dos to Stop Drop and Roll!!! because its all GD tye party anthems, rathe than hippy dippy garage rock it packs a fuck of a punch rather than wispy slap to the butt cheek. songs like Fuck Time and Stop When The Red Lights Flash kick you right in the teeth but See You Tonight, Lazy Bones & Amy are very melodic but still get you pumped up for pre-drinks. you've got your sleezey, dirty songs while still having your calmer, more chilled out tracks and it works together so perfectly. it blends, it meshes well. it's not a miss-match of random filler shite like Tre or 'wait has the track changed or is this just a 40 minute song' like Uno. each song is distinctive & individual, but it still blends together so in sync that it's pleasant to listen to.
Guest Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 Dos is to Stop, Drop & Roll what Charlie Sheen is to Martin Sheen.

Yep, perfect for any party. you need to shut up. like, 95% of the time. any GD fan knows that the sound of the song and the lyrics are totally different things for Green Day. it sounds so powerful, so 'i'm gunna kick the president in the nuts then piss off the great wall of China' but then you look deeper, read into the lyrics, you want to kill yourself with how depressing it is. that's how GD do shit, that's how they've always done shit. I think they both do it really well, just differently. Stop Drop And Roll is the 60s version and Dos is the new version with a darker edge. YES THIS EXACTLY!! Dos is modern, Stop Drop and Roll!!! is your hippy 60's version that your dad would have listened to in his 'alternative' days.

I don't really see your point, did you even read my post? All I know is that if Lazy Bones came on when I was halfway through my 4th pint, I'd go find somewhere quiet to have a weep and question my life choices.

Lazy Bones is beautiful, that & Amy are probably the only two songs off there that are mellow and make you question yourself but they're beautiful, while the others, if they came on while out in a club, people would fuck shit up.

No, if Makeout Party came on they'd be worried why a 40 year old man was playing spin the bottle with middle-school kids
Guest Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 No, if Makeout Party came on they're be worried why a 40 year old man was playing spin the bottle with middle-school kids are you sayin that people in clubs listen to lyrics in a song after their 6th shot and 12th pint? uhm, no. thy don't. they listen to the tune mate. have you never been to a club?

I have, and people only lost their shit to songs they knew Anything a bit left field they either abandoned the dancefloor or looked very confused for about 3 minutes until Rihanna came back on.
Guest Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 makeout party and ashley are both pretty awful but the rest of them are great. well...the only time i can only stand to listen to nightlife when i'm drunk, but still no gonna lie if nightlife came on while i was in Meze i'd go crazy, i love that song. I have, and people only lost their shit to songs they knew Anything a bit left field they either abandoned the dancefloor or looked very confused for about 3 minutes until Rihanna came back on. you go to shit clubs mate. none of the ones i go to even play Rihanna. they play Sum 41, Blink 182, Offspring, Green Day.. they play GOOD music (to an extent).
