DookieLukie Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 An acoustic album? What a horrible idea.
Z J Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 An acoustic album? What a horrible idea. and why's that
DookieLukie Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 and why's that Not really their style. They're a punk/pop-rock band. Not James Blunt or Jack Johnson. I'd rather rock out to Green Day than listen to lullaby music from them. That's who they are: a fast rock band.

I'd rather rock out to Green Day than listen to lullaby music from them. That's who they are: a fast rock band. they have a fairly large number of slow songs. And stripping down songs isn't uncommon for rock bands.
WhiteTim Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 So? Meaning if Nirvana could sound great acousticly I have no reason to believe Green Day wouldn't sound just as good as well
Spike Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 I'd even go so far as to say Green Day would do it better than Nirvana. Their songwriting is so much more classic in style than Nirvana's, their existing songs could work in almost any style due to great melodies and strong chord progressions. Look what an amazing job Alanis did with Basket Case, then imagine how good a song by Green Day would be in that style if it was MEANT to sound like that in the first place. I can't say an acoustic style album would interest me, but it'd definitely be really good.
Connor Finlayson Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 I really liked the Trilogy and think some of Green Days best songs are on it. And I also really liked Dos.
MaraGreenDay Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 I really really want Green Day in acoustic, just one album like that, i'm sure it will be amazing!
WhiteTim Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 I'd even go so far as to say Green Day would do it better than Nirvana. We'll agree to disagree but I think an acoustic GD would be a great cd
Jollyroger118 Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 We'll agree to disagree but I think an acoustic GD would be a great cd Agreed
WhiteTim Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 Nirvana isn't very good Ha ha funny thanks for the laugh

ThranaM Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 Hitchin' A Ride and King For A Day are overrated.
Hermione Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 All I ever see is people saying they're sick of King For A Day, I wouldn't say it's overrated. Although I happen to think it's so fabulous that it could never be rated highly enough
Metanoia Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 Walking Alone is a freaking underrated song! I mean it is like wow.
Z J Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 King for a Day is not a bad song at all, people just don't like it because it lasts 10 minutes live. I sort of dig the Ska-Punk vibe it has. It's one of the only areas of punk Green Day never really explored.
Anaïs. Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 Hitchin' A Ride and King For A Day are overrated. I'm curious as to your reasoning why.
Ste.A Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 Walking Alone is a freaking underrated song! I mean it is like wow. that it definitely is!
Spike Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 King For A Day is actually better live. It's just kind of silly and jarring on the record, it's fun live, which is what it's all about. I agree about Hitchin' A Ride, it's not that good really. I think the production lets it down. It does have one of the best Green Day solos ever though, and the lyrics are really good.
