Bastard of 1969 Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 yes but there's no reason to. they play dookie because of the anniversary So, we should wait until 2017. or 2020. to play Nimrod or Warning?
Z J Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 So, we should wait until 2017. or 2020. to play Nimrod or Warning? That's not what they're saying (I think). Clearly Dookie was a huge successful album, while Nimrod and Warning are relative unknowns. 75% of the crowd would be uninterested in hearing warning or Nimrod all the way through because they only know one or two songs from each album.
JOE THE X-KID Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 It would be cool if Green Day did like a livestream from their studio like Foo Fighters did a few years ago, people send in their requests and the band play them live.

November's Storms Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 Not an unpopular opinion but it doesn't seem to be a common one. Panic Song is very high on the list of my fav GD songs. Also the most played song on my iTunes!

Also the most played song on my iTunes! I believe this was the first 'unpopular opinion' to grace this list. I completely to agree though; it's a standout track on Insomniac. The structure is very unique.
Pied Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 Alright, get ready to hate me. 1) They really need to stop playing Dookie live. They've done it six times already. If they do it again I'll probably end up ripping my hair out. It was really cool in Serbia, but now it's just being spammed. I think they should go back to playing a normal set. 2) The trilogy gets WAY too much shit. I mean, come on, Fuck Time, Nuclear Family, Drama Queen, Stray Heart, 99 Revolutions, et cetera, are all marvelous songs. Why can't Green Day experiment, I mean, they did it with Warning, so why do people hate the trilogy so much? I don't get it. 3) Troublemaker is the worst Green Day song lyrically. 4) The Drunk Bunny is not funny. 5) Best Thing In Town is one of my favorite Green Day songs. So is Words I Might Have Ate.
Guest Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 I honestly don't get people moaning about them playing Dookie. The second Green Day play a show near them and they don't play Dookie they'll most likely be moaning about how everyone else got to see Dookie and not them
Iva Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 Then I guess us who never do are the minority. SCORE.

Why? People in other contries also wants to see Dookie live. 2. Agreed 3. Well, lyrically, it's not that bad. 4. Still not funny? 5. Your choice. I'm neutral.
munns6691 Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 I mean, I do agree that fans who act like a setlist is shitty because they don't know the songs are annoying, but with such an established band like Green Day, it's a bit ridiculous to assume everyone knows every lyric of every song. It's just that Dookie doesn't necessarily mean as much to some people as it does to others, and that is gonna create some differences. I love the band so fucking much even though I don't know every word to every song. Really? Save for a few songs on dos I know every line to every song, not bragging I thought this was a normal thing.
WhiteTim Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 Wanna be a Troublemaker Wanna be a Troublemaker Wanna be a Troublemaker Wanna be a Troublemaker Hey! Yeah! ^^ moving, deep stuff there. While I agree Troublemaker isnt a lyrical masterpiece but not every song has to be deep lol
Hermione Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 How can people who haven't even seen Green Day play Dookie live once, let alone more than once, complain that it's boring/they're tired of it? How can you possibly be tired of something you haven't even seen that's only happened 5 times in the history of the world?!
Z J Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 The only way the trilogy was an experiment for GD was the fact that they released 3 albums in a short period of time. Nothing on these albums really strays too far from what they normally do. It just isn't similar to AI or 21 CB but it has all kinds of similarities to their other stuff. And you better get used to Dookie. B/C if you are some how tired of it (dumb) then you will probably be pretty upset for the next year or so.
Isabel Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 Not at all Why should everyone there know 98% of the songs?
Guest Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 Emenius Sleepus is my favorite Dookie song Mine too
Isabel Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 Hearing Billie Joe say Emenius Sleepus was mind blowing, I've been saying it wrong for almost 12 years
Guest Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 Hearing Billie Joe say Emenius Sleepus was mind blowing, I've been saying it wrong for almost 12 years I think Ceri has too, you're not alone Then again, she pronounces Dookie like Ducky
Isabel Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 I think Ceri has too, you're not alone Then again, she pronounces Dookie like Ducky Well I think all 4 of us were like 'Whaaaa?' thinking it must be a Billie Joe thing, like the way he says Ireland... Eyerland (well it's an American thing obviously but we call it a Billie Joe thing) He pronounced it like Emeanius.....weird.

Isabel Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 That's the way I've always pronounced it I thought it was Em-enius (LIKE HOW IT'S ACTUALLY SPELLED!)
