tammy_cool Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 God damn it's a fucking joke get off the high horse jeez Even though it was clear u were joking, she has a point.
Guest Trotsky Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 i love kerplunk and dookie is their worst album Dookie is definitely one of the best Green Day albums... But if you consider Uno better than Dookie then your opinion is certainly unpopular.
WhiteTim Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Even though it was clear u were joking, she has a point. Lmao if ALL women are tired of being exploited then why do so many women do videos or strip clubs etc Everyone every gender gets exploited in more ways or other...
The Grouch is Tracy Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Lmao if ALL women are tired of being exploited then why do so many women do videos or strip clubs etc Everyone every gender gets exploited in more ways or other... I agree that everybody is at risk for being exploited, but little girls do not grow up dreaming of becoming strippers, prostitutes or porn stars . Sometimes people make bad choices, or have bad choices made for them.
Sarcasm Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Lmao if ALL women are tired of being exploited then why do so many women do videos or strip clubs etcEveryone every gender gets exploited in more ways or other...it doesn't get more off topic than this. Also being a man I don't think you've experienced enough objectification to even realize what you've just said.I agree that everybody is at risk for being exploited, but little girls do not grow up dreaming of becoming strippers, prostitutes or porn stars . Sometimes people make bad choices, or have bad choices made for them.or someone chooses to not end up on the streets by making a difficult choice between money and dignity. You can take the "what gender has it worse" debate in a PM or a appropriate thread.

Could I nominate this as a quote for the top of the forum? With the user's name? I am choosing not to reply to this any further here.
Fuzz Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Will everyone quit being so fucking over-sensitive. As Ola said, this isn't the thread for this conversation. Take it to PM or start a topic in general chat.
Z J Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 Wow the owner commented on this, ha I'm relatively new here so that's kind of cool. Except he's pissed...not as cool. Anyway back on topic..... I think Green Day writes some of the best bridges in music
TimmyChunks Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 Music videos these days are all full of semi-nude woman, guys driving round in expensive cars or just Taylor Swift having a rant. It almost seems pointless to put any real effort in to making a music video Well, I think you just described the entire history of music videos- while there have been some good ones that bucked the formula you just described (...insert semi nude woman here, expensive car there, and pop star of the moment), for the most part, music videos have been depressingly following this strategy for decades. In fact, when I first got into Green Day in the early 90's, it was so refreshing to see zit-faced kids playing punk rock on MTV (Longview, Basket Case, etc.) along with all of the grunge videos that were coming out at the time. They were quite the contrast to the Compton/ west coast rap videos (Snoop, Dre, etc.) as well as hair metal videos (where do I even begin?) glorifying aforementioned cars, women, etc. This was the reality even back when MTV actually played videos, which must have been decades ago...
bioshockerxx Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 I love Horseshoes and Hand grenades I never see anyone talk about this song
MaraGreenDay Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 I love Horseshoes and Hand grenades I never see anyone talk about this song One of the best songs, in my opinion, i love it!
musso_kn Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 I love Horseshoes and Hand grenades I never see anyone talk about this song Should have been a single.
bioshockerxx Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 Should have been a single. They should've picked it as a single instead of Last of the American girls imo
musso_kn Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 They should've picked it as a single instead of Last of the American girls imo Anything would have been better than LoTAG. I'd also quite like to have seen Murder City and iViva La Gloria!
fromdecimateddreams Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 It seems to be unpopular to like Last of the American Girls. Idk, I think it's a nice little enjoyable song. I like the lyrics.
MaraGreenDay Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 It seems to be unpopular to like Last of the American Girls. Idk, I think it's a nice little enjoyable song. I like the lyrics. I love that song! I don't know why people hate it
MaraGreenDay Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 horseshoes and hangrenades is so great i wish that billie didn't hate it so they would've played it more live. viva la gloria is my favorite gd song and even though i don't think it would've worked well as a single anything would've been better than lotag murder city would've been perfect though. they need to hire one of us to choose their singles from now on. Wait, Billie hate Horseshoes and handgrenades?!! I didn't know that!!
Jason Fox Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 It seems to be unpopular to like Last of the American Girls. Idk, I think it's a nice little enjoyable song. I like the lyrics. Yeah, I like it too. Apparently I like most of the songs on 21stCB that people don't like. I personally like Viva la Gloria? (Little Girl) much more than Viva La Gloria. I just... can't explain it.
fromdecimateddreams Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 I love that song! I don't know why people hate it I know, me neither. It has a casual feel to it and it's not so in-your-face like some of the others on 21stCB (even though I still love them). It's kinda relaxing in a way Anyone who dislikes it care to elaborate?
MaraGreenDay Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 i don't know if he really hates it but i know he's said before that he doesn't like it or wishes it wasn't on the album or something along those lines, i can't remember his exact words now. makes me sad because it's so fucking great Well that sucks! Billie!
WhiteTim Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 I agree with Billie easily one of the worst songs GD has ever done imo
fromdecimateddreams Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 you're talking about last of the american girls right? one of the biggest reasons why i don't like it and why it was such a terrible, terrible choice for a single is because it's soooo boring live. total snoozefest, which is weird because gd are always so great live. other than that, idk. it just kind of bores me overall and i think the lyrics are lame i know i wish i could find the interview where he talks about it but i'm not even sure when it was. Hmm, true, it's not really the best live song. I like how simple it is though in comparison to the rest of the album. Most of 21stCB is like YEAH REVOLUTION BAM IN YOUR FACE LETS OVERTHROW SHIT and it's really empowering and LoTAG is kind a nice breather in the middle of all that I suppose But to each their own. And I agree that H&H is totally badass. Best lyrical work, maybe not, but it's awesome and would be totally kickass live.
99-revolutions Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 I feel that Billie's voice is way to low in the mix of a lot of songs on 21st (static age, horseshoes and hand grenades etc) + I reckon that the 'Lady Cobra' arc on ¡Dos! (lady cobra, nightlife. The giggle at the start of LC is what does It) Is incredibly sexy.
bagelfeet Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 Take Back reeeaaallllyy turns me off of Nimrod in all honesty. There's WONDERFUL songs on there and then there's just this demonic voice saying "taaiiik baaaak" and it's just...probably my least favorite Green Day song
