The great thing about discussion forums is that one can rekindle discussions, even six months after the original post.

Translation: Quit gif spamming, and don't be a dick.

Hitchin' a Ride is a song that should have made the cut in one of the American Pie movies.

If they ever make a biopic of one of my heroes, the late Christopher Hitchens, I want them to use that song in the trailer. Not only was Hitchens a pretty heavy drinker, which fits the theme of the song nicely...c'mon. Hitchin'; Hitchens. See what I did there?

...I'm bad at puns.

I didn't know Australians also used the word wanker.

Cool.

Hell, I use the word wanker. Or wank, say what you will.

Anyway, is it just me, or do people not like Nimrod? That's what I've seen, and it's my personal favorite album, so I don't really know what to say.

Nimrod is probably my favorite album, I don't know why people don't like it so much. :/

I love Nimrod, it definitely makes my top five.

Nimrod used to be my favorite album. Then I listened to it way too much and got sick of it. I only listen to a few songs off it now. I usually can't sit through the whole album anymore.

I just love "Church on Sunday". Seems like nobody else does, at least nobody ever mentions it. "If you'll live with me I'll die for you", isn't that the most romantic shit you've ever heard?!

I think the lyrics are really pretty. It's a 'love song', but one about a mature, married couple. It's very real yet not cynical at all and I like that.

God, Nimrod is like a child to me, I love it so much. Probably one of my favourite Green Day albums.

Also, I've never really liked Green Day's music videos. It seemed like the only one that was good was Jesus of Suburbia and that was because it was long enough for them to make in to a story. Otherwise, the music videos aren't that good in my opinion. Though I do like Hitchin' a Ride and Holiday, 21st Century Breakdown is good too, it's just... I feel like they're lacking what other groups have in music videos. It seems they make up for it in live performances!

Music videos these days are all full of semi-nude woman, guys driving round in expensive cars or just Taylor Swift having a rant. It almost seems pointless to put any real effort in to making a music video :(

Cool.

We use it more than the UK.

I don't even watch music videos to begin with, really. I never have. I don't know why, I guess cause maybe when I listen to a song I kind of create a scene for its meaning in my head and sometimes watching a music video kind of warps that image or something, idk. I haven't even seen half of Green Day's music videos, tbh. I love the video for Walking Contradiction, though.

The only music videos I've seen (from Green Day) are Basket Case, When I Come Around, Wake Me Up When September Ends, and Jesus of Suburbia.

I've never seen the one for WMUWSE honestly

and you definitely need to watch Walking Contradiction then, cause it's hilarious.

I love all Green Day music videos, especially Holiday, Nice Guys Finish Last and Kill The Dj, except Stray Heart, i think that's the most horrible music video that they ever done!

*Sorry, bad english :P

That's not actually true. A lot of bands have great music videos without semi-nude woman. But yeah there are a lot music videos with nude woman

There is NOTHING wrong with videos of naked women...

I feel like all of their music videos back in the 90s were so much better, the "Hitchin' a Ride" and "Redundant" videos especially stick out to me. The latter took so much *work*...and then the song wasn't even a big hit. :(

or Walking Contradiction! My favourite!

Warning is really good too!

And Holiday... and 21st CBD.

My least favourite video is Oh Love tied with JOS... Both horrible and I wouldn't want to watch them ever again in my life

It's overdone and uncreative.

Naked women can never be overdone or uncreative

Oh, right, you're not a woman so you probably don't understand how it feels to see women be relentlessly objectified.

Music videos definitely still matter. Take a look at the youtube views for recent "Top 40" songs and they all have like 50 millions views.

I've never really watched music videos, I just picture the band singing live.
