no, i don't think 21cb as a whole is garbage and i never said that. i think the songs that i specifically mentioned - christian's inferno, know your enemy, last of the american girls, and see the light - are garbage. i love all the songs you just mentioned and viva la gloria is my favorite gd song of all time so i'm not sure where you got that  right now i listen to dos more and prefer it over the 21cb album but my favorite gd albums change all the time. the fact that i like lady cobra and fuck time doesn't mean i can't like some of the songs on 21st too.

I do believe I did not select the right person to send that to lmao. My bad dude

I really think the guys should re-record their first two albums. I can't fully appreciate some of the songs because of the low quality recordings.

I have always thought it would be interesting if Rob Cavallo and Jerry Finn did a remix of the entire Kerplunk album liike they did with '2,000 Light Years Away'. They didnt really change much but it breathes a lot of life into the song and it would be awesome to hear the rest of the album beefed up and polished like that.

Well the masters to the Lookout supposedly are in terrible shape

And sadly Jerry passed away in the early 2000's

"Amanda" is one of the best songs on ¡Tré!

Ok.

21 Guns: Boring, unoriginal sound. American Idiot called. It wants "Wake Me Up When September Ends" back.

Before the Lobotomy: Not terrible, but not great. One of 21CB's better efforts, but pales in comparison to, you know, everything on AI.

EJN: American Idiot called. It wants "Holiday" back.

21CB: Queen called. They want "Bohemian Rhapsody" back.

Last of the American Girls: Derivative, boring pop track. It sucks.

VLG: Unoriginal. Abuses the soft/hard motif. Generic 21CB sound that just blends in with everything else and doesn't stand out at all.

Little Girl: Boring, unoriginal.

Static Age: American Idiot called. It wants "Letterbomb" back.

See the Light: American Idiot called. It wants "Whatsername" back.

Know Your Enemy: Fuck this shitty-ass, stupid as fuck, horse shit lyrics, painfully canned and generic song. 21CB's worst, and that's saying something.

I'm kind of surprised by your choices here. There's one really exceptional track on 21CB, that being American Eulogy, which is one of the best songs Green Day has ever written. To see that and the also-great Horseshoes and Handgrenades left off of this list, with shit like LOTAG, STL and KYE on it, leaves me doubting my faith in Green Day fans.

 oh, Ben.

the only thing i disagree with is KYE. it's my favourite song off 21stCBD. mostly because it makes me bop about like a total teenage mong :P

but ye 21stCBD is their 3rd worst album, i only dislike 1039 & Kerplunk more.

Hmm sounds the same to me.

I really like the song Amanda too. Very underrated. Great vocals.

I like the bit when he goes "Amanda, I couldn't be your maa-a-a-aan". Delightfully Beatles-esque :D

The recording itself is the same just been remixed by Jerry Finn the guitar is more loud but to me not that much difference

And I may be wrong on the Jerky Boys placement

i believe there a download link in the dl section

And I adore the line "Is this some kind of love than only hate could understand?" And the guitar solo. It's just a fabulous song.

I really like Amanda too. It is a bit repetitive, in a way, but I still think it's pretty damn catchy and fun.

That's the reason why i love that song!

I was watching an AC/DC live with my dad and he said to me "So, you went to see Green Day, uh?"
(He was talking about the crowd)
My mum said "But Green Day are a great band!" and he replied, laughing "Wait, wait, wait"

I don't understand this

I love Nimrod, but I think there's too much hype surrounding it amongst. So many fans talk about how it's an unsung masterpiece. It's great, but I also think it's a little incoherent.

American Idiot is over played to the point it's given the band a bad repuatition. It's the song most people link them with.
Amy, Amanda & Nightlife suck.
Stop with the makeup.
Awesome as fuck is a terrible album name.

I get what you mean, I love it and all the songs on it but Its just never been my favourite

Not quiet sure if that belongs in here. But I think they should make a whole album in the J.A.R Style, not the song itself, but the mixing/record style. This song is just perfect mixed.

agreed, when the guitars and drums kick in..WOW

I thought it was cool initially, but grew to hate it when I hate to explain its origin to everyone, saying "No, it's not necessarily meant to be egotistical." Plus, it ruined GDC for months when people wouldn't stop using the expression. (And let's not get into the quality of the audio.)

I think their next cd should be mixed by a guy name Josh Goldstein and mastered by Brian Gardnar who mixed "I Run NY" it's the best I ever heard Billie on

Stop with the makeup.

Awesome as fuck is a terrible album name.

Why do you care if someone feels like sticking some eyeliner on or not though? I honestly don't get why anyone cares about a bit of black around someone's eyes unless they're their stylist. Also, they often used to wear eyeliner back in the 39/Smooth / Kerplunk days too ;)

I just have to tell you the story behind the name in case it helps change your mind . So, during the 21st CB tour some fans brought signs that said "Thank you" to a show and held them up during Good Riddance, and the band noticed and tweeted about it in appreciation. Then someone on GDC had the fabulous idea to bring signs that said "Awesome as fuck" instead. So a bunch of fans did it at the next show.......and the band saw them and was so amused that when the time came to name the live album they named it after the signs :woot:. I think it's brilliant, a special fun little joke and token of appreciation between the band and fans. It sums up a lot of what a Green Day show is about (having a laugh and breaking down the barrier between band and fans) for me. Even if you don't like the name gotta admit it has a cool story behind it :D

  1. No.
  2. No.
  3. FUCK NO.
  4. Get out.

Awesome as Fuck was annoying as a joke but the album title itself pretty much said it all. It's not my favourite live album but it's decent.

Shows lived up to the title though.

Wait, a GDC member came up with the title?

Now that is awesome as fuck.

My reason for disliking it would be called punk elitism so I'm not going to delve into this much further. :P

But I think it's too fancy, unneeded, and frivolous. It'd be fine every once in a while, for a special occasion or something like that, but not at every show.

This reply just killed the one you made a couple of pages back and chased all the maturity out. But don't mind me, I'm just recognising the time I deleted all my non-punk songs from cassettes because they were, well, not punk. Variety is cool.

As for the person who said that green day fans are the most biased in the world, I disagree, go check Radiohead fans.

They are not fans, they're a god damned clan of people who think they're above everybody else; who order people outside of their clans where they are allowed to stand at shows and from what I know from a friend who used to be friends with Ed, the band dislikes them. :P LOL FAIL.

Given all of this, I seriously do not think that every single part of the show can be staged. Sure, there's always water gun etc, King For A Day, some screwing around with a flag; but each show has its own little gems. :)

And fancy? I have not been to the AI and 21CBD shows, but they were striking me only as remotely fancy. A Depeche Mode show with all of those Anton Corbjin projections would be fancy. A Rolling Stones' show with those moving bits of stage, huge lights, inflattable tongue etc would be fancy. A Muse show would be fancy. A Rammstein show would be a circus act accompanied by music.

This? This is just goofy and good fun. :)
