They seriously should work on Oh Girl and release it in the next album. It's a fantastic track.

Scary emo Green Day fan girls are worse than JB fans and are mostly zombies who agree with ANYTHING Green Day related.

AGREED

Little Boy Named Train is not as good as everyone makes out. I really don't get why everyone likes this song.

I love 21st and Dookie was the first cd I heard in 94...

Tho my complaints is Christain's Inferno should've been left off 21 Guns is a good song but it is a bit longer than it should've been

21 Guns studio version is ok to me, but the Awesome as Fuck CD version is really special.

Yeah the studio is fine but i think the song should've ended when the music faded before they re launched it to the last chorus

The lyrics were highly overcomplicated, so to me they don't "save" the songs. Idk why 21CB gets so much love here. Probably because it's the first GD album most of you ever heard. 21 Guns and all.

I would rank Green Day Albums:

AI

21 CB

Insomniac

Dookie

Warning

Nimrod

Kerplunk

Trilogy

39/Smooth

I don't like 21 CB because it was the first green day I ever heard. In fact, I didn't even listen to it when it came out. I heard 21 Guns and wasn't a huge fan. So I didn't explore it any further. AI was the first album I had heard from them, and I listened to it for two year and forgot about the band for a while. Anyways, 21 CB is so good because it represents by far the best vocal they've ever done. Last Night on Earth, 21 Guns, and Before the Lobotomy have incredible vocals. And BJA backs them up live. Song of the Century/ 21st CB is their best opener. It wasn't as tightly produced or written as AI, but it has some incredibly epic songs, with engaging rhythm changes. 21 CB tour was also their best tour by a mile.

I used to feel the same way as you about 21 CB, but I began listening to Green Day albums straight through, and 21 CB just stands out so much. It's a beautiful album.

The bridge is the best part live

The best part about this post is the part where you incorrectly assume which album I heard first. The first Green Day album I ever listened to was Kerplunk when I was six years old. Next time you try to judge me and make my point invalid, don't do it with an absolutely idiotic, unrelated post.

Even if 21st Century Breakdown had been the first album I had ever listened to, it wouldn't matter. Just because I heard it first, doesn't mean I love it or it's my favorite.

Oh, by the way, 21 Guns is my least favorite song on 21st Century Breakdown, so you were also incorrect in that assumption as well.

There's no need to be so rude, condescending and elitist. Actually, I started with American Idiot, the first rock album I ever listened to and the one that's still my favorite. 21CB was one of the last albums of theirs I listened to (I think it went AI, Dookie, Warning, Nimrod, Insomniac, 21CB, Kerplunk, 1039), and I loved it. I recognize that some of the lyrics are shoddy, but to paraphrase a much longer post I made earlier in this thread, I believe the lyrics that work, which are the majority of the album, work amazingly well—"East Jesus Nowhere" has to be one of the best songs they've done lyrically—the music is the most experimental and sweeping they'd ever done at that point, and includes some absolutely gorgeous piano work. The album as a whole does an incredibly good job at capturing the zeitgeist of the era in which it was released. The only major quibble I have with it is Billie's overproduced vocals, and that's a pretty minor problem that I have. On the whole, I rank it their third best after AI and Warning. And for the record, "21 Guns" is nowhere near my favorite song on the album, and even if it were—so what? It's a very good ballad and a natural radio single. And even if I had started with 21CB...um, so what? How does it make you musically superior to have listened to an older record first? It doesn't make me a better, more literary Stephen King fan if I started with Carrie and read his work straight through instead of starting with It or Under the Dome or The Green Mile. It doesn't matter how you got into the band, what matters is that you did and that their music moved you and connected with you. If "21 Guns" was the gateway for someone to find and appreciate all of Green Day's work, more power to them. Arrogant, snide remarks like the one you made will only turn new fans away, rather than encourage them to explore the rest of Green Day's awesome music.

Even if 21stCB was the first album somebody heard and 21 Guns also just so happens to be one of their favourites, it absolutely does not demean their opinion and make yours any better.

And also, sometimes being the first one somebody heard actually does make it more special to them. That has nothing to do with the quality of the album itself or what other people think of it. It's one person's personal opinion that they are absolutely, one hundred percent entitled to. There's no need to act so blatantly elitist.

They seem like more of an elitist than me, and that's saying something. :P

Awesome As Fuck is better than Bullet in a Bible.

Don't get me wrong I love BIAB but I'm sure that most people prefer it to AAF. Does anyone else agree?

I like Awesome As Fuck better. Bullet in a Bible would be my favorite if the little interview bits weren't inserted randomly into the show. It just messes up the mood and distracts me from the greatness of the concert. If the interview bits were at the end or selected separately from the actual show, Bullet in a Bible would be my favorite.

But the difference is that you don't act like a jerk.

I'm not sure if I really prefer one to the other, but I definitely agree that AAF has a few better tracks than BIAB, mostly cause it seems like AAF has less of the audience screaming all the time (which is obviously part of live tracks, but sometimes it gets a little annoying after a while :P)

also the AAF recording of 21 Guns gives me chills.

The interview bits are what I liked about Bullet in a Bible. The actual concert disappointed me a little. Watching AAF makes me feel like I'm there more than BIAB. It may be because of the interview bits IDK. However they should have an option on the menu to not include the interview bits!

I like the interview bits as well, but I don't like that they are randomly inserted between songs. I'd like it if all of the interview clips were at the end or a special feature, instead of in the middle of the show every time you watch it. It interrupts the flow of the concert and makes it harder to pay attention to the music.

Well hopefully they make a new concert video and have interview bits at the end!

And let the video be filmed from the Emirates.

If the first GD album I heard was my favorite, then that would be Dookie. But it's not even in my top five in reality. Arguement invalid. :P

First time I heard 21 CB I thought "No way he can sing any of these songs live" but BJA does an incredible and somewhat surprising job of hitting some large notes.

Awesome As Fuck is better than Bullet in a Bible.

I agree if you are talking about the CD's, but the AAF DVD was pretty awful visually. BIAB was a better DVD. But if we are talking strictly for listening, AAF (The CD) is miles away better than BIAB. Christie Road, Going to Pasalaqua, J.A.R., and that absolutely great 21 Guns recording are all better than the studio versions

I like BIAB better, personally, just because the live footage on AAF feels claustrophobic to me. Maybe it's the darkness combined with the indoor setting, it just makes me feel suffocated.

i prefer BIAB because idk it's just way more spectacular that AAF. it's outside, the crowd is huge and crazy, the black/white parts, the funny quotes, etc.

i really like AAF too of course, i prefer the songs choice on this one because it includes 21stCB AND AI (plus others obv) but the recording gives me headaches.

but my favorite one is still BIAB, i remember the 1st time i watched this i told myself; omfg i've never seen any live that good :runaround:

I go with AAF just cause its straight thru no interruptions

Me too. The clips in BIAB ruin the flow for me, so I prefer AAF.

Six years old?? C'mon...you can't possibly argue that you remember what you heard when you were 6 years old.

I'm not an elitist. I love all of Green Day's work. I'm just saying that at the heart of Green Day is albums like Dookie, Insomniac, and AI. It doesn't matter when you become a fan. I'll admit that I became a fan when I heard Blvd of Broken Dreams. Now I'm not that big into that song, but Blvd was a gateway for me to dig deeper and find the true Green Day sound and "magic" if you will.

21CB is good and all, I just don't think the serious attitude and operatic style really demonstrates who Green Day is as a band, if that makes any sense. If it's your gateway to dig deeper into GD's discography, then great! That's wonderful, really! I just don't think it's Green Day's greatest work or an album that will come to mind 25 years from now when someone says "Green Day."

No need to get so angry. I was making a sarcastic joke.
