Unpopular Green Day Opinions

My rank for the trilogy is Tre>Dos>Uno

I seem to be alone in thinking that Uno is the most samey, underwhelming album Green Day has ever released. Dos is a more exciting record and Tre holds some of Billie Joe's best song writing.

Even though I like it, I feel the same as you about ¡Uno!.

I like all the songs when taken one by one but the overall listening is repetitive. The last time I tried to listen to it (three weeks ago), I stopped at the beginning of Carpe Diem 'cause I was already bored.

As for me, my rank would be now ¡Dos! > ¡Tré! > ¡Uno!. Even if the sound is polished, I find ¡Dos! the most rock'n'roll-influencend disc Green Day ever made. I like all the songs, even Lazy Bones, that I hated at first listen (still my least favourite song of the album). ¡Tré! contains two of my favourite Green Day songs (Brutal Love and especially Missing You) even if the record contains the only trilogy song I really dislike (Walk Away). This albums is diverse but coherent.

I don't understand why (almost) nobody cares about Wild One. I am glad that there are others who like this song. This is definitely the most underrated song of the Trilogy.

I care about it, I think it's my favourite from Dos! Just a really beautiful and interesting song. I love the psychedelic vibe it has.

dos > uno > tre. i love all of dos it's an amazing album not a single bad song on there.

Couldn't agree more!

It's my favourite from Dos and one of my favourite Trilogy songs. I believe that Dos is the strongest album of the Trilogy and I think Kill The DJ would fit very much in this album. On the other hand Tre contains some of the best songs of Green Day.

Kill the DJ is a great song to smoke a fatty to

I like it too but I mean they could've put a full song but I like the way it goes into fuck time lol

Me too because it seems so sweet and you're like "awww isn't this so nice"...... but then..........!

The static age is a great song and I wanna listen it live

Amy and Stray Heart are the best songs on Dos.

I didn't think this was that unpopular, but reading through some of the posts, maybe it is: Lazy Bones is my favourite song on Dos.

It's on Awesome As Fuck, but I don't believe that they will play "The Static Age" on 99 Revolutions tour.

i don't really like makeout party. i try to like it but i just don't

i think it would be 10000000x better live though

I think it's a good song musically: it's fun and has the rock 'n' roll vibe they were supposed to be going for on iDOS!. But to me the lyrics are just ridiculous. At least Fuck Time sounds like a midlife crisis. MOP would be an embarrassing song even if it was written by a hormonal fifteen year old boy.

Amy is good until the "Amy pleaseeee don't goooooo" it's just such a weak line

I agree that the lyrics during the chorus aren't so incredible. The verses are great though and the chorus is melodic/catchy enough to make it a classic Green Day song.

I love Makeout Party!! It's sexy as hell

Actually i love all ¡Dos!

Tre=Uno=Dos. To me it is hard to pick one above the other. Dos has some of the best songs of the trilogy IMO (Amy and Stray Heart) but also has some awful ones (Makeout Party, Baby Eyes, and Nightlife). Uno is best top to bottom but only Nuclear Family really is a stand out song to me. Tre has Brutal Love, 8th Avenue Serenade, and DRB all of which I think are top notch Green Day songs. But Tre also has some not so good ones. No matter which way you rank them, I would have to say that all 3 are not as good as anything from Dookie-21 CB.

I agree, but I'd take it further and say none of them are as good as anything from 1039 or Kerplunk either.

Really? I didn't think the Trilogy was that bad, if bad at all.

the trilogy is better than 1039 and kerplunk. there i said it.

I think Uno was, aside from Kill the DJ, one of Green Day's better albums. Not Dookie or AI by any stretch, but definitely on a par with Insomniac, 1,039 and Kerplunk. Tre's grown on me more and more thanks to a few key songs being really good, but Dos remains largely a wasteland of unused FBHT material that should have remained unused.

but fuck time and swtrlf are so good and oh my god what about stray heart, lazy bones, wild one... them 5 plus nightlife are my favourite off dos they're amazing

See You Tonight/Fuck Time is one of my favorite Green Day songs ever. SWTRLF and Stray Heart are ok. The rest of the album is disposable for me.

i agree with all you said besides one fact, i think Insomniac is far better than any trilogy albums.

but yes to me Dos is the weakest one too. i just skip most of the songs besides Stray Heart & Lazy Bones.

ok well i'm glad you like SYT/FT because they're goddamn amazing as balls and they are my precious little ones and i shall protect them to the ends of earth.

maybe not to that extent but i love them a lot and i am happy to see others like them too yay

It's not bad but only a handful of songs across all three records really stand out to me. A lot of it feels very repetitive and the guitar tones are so weak that the whole trilogy sounds really...tired. I didn't get the whole "hell yeah Green Day!" vibe from it, so for me it is the weakest set of records they've ever released.

I'll admit that a large deal of my love for SYT/FT stems purely from the fact that Green Day not only had the balls to write and perform a song called "It's Fuck Time", but they then made it a centerpiece track on a major studio album instead of relegating it to a live-only track or B-side.

yup you could definitely argue that.

Really? I didn't think the Trilogy was that bad, if bad at all.

They aren't bad. And what she said in response basically echoes my sentiments. Only a handful songs really made a big impact, and almost none of them won a majority of fans over. To me, the best songs were Brutal Love, Amy, and Nuclear Family. But that would not be what a lot of people would take as their top 3. When Green Day said they wanted to go back to basics. I thought that would mean like Dookie (Fast 3 minute songs with great, melodic guitar riffs. And really witty and identifiable lyrics.) but that is not what we really got. I think the lyrics of the album are the downfall, seconded by the vocals. But they aren't bad. Just not Green Day's best work in my opinion

I think the triology is better than 1039 and kerplunk because the songs have more variety.
