bioshockerxx Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Has anyone heard x-kid, kill the dj or stray heart on the radio at all in North America???
fromdecimateddreams Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 I haven't. I've never even heard Oh Love on the radio in the US, but of course that could be thanks to the kinda crappy stations around here. I did hear Fuck Time and Ashley in Hot Topic, though, but I think they just put in CDs or something.
Mar Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 At the beginning of this year or so, I was pretty hard line about a Tre-Uno-Dos rank. But in the past couple of months, I've soured on Tre. As others have said, it has some standouts, no doubt, but it can be very bland. Uno is still pretty catchy throughout and Dos went from being kind of obnoxious/difficult to listen to to an album that you realize has some cool shit. I still hate Makeout Party and Nightlife and probably always will, but I'm much more appreciative of songs like Lazy Bones, Wild One and Amy than before.
Chelsee Angevine Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 I did not really get the hype for X-Kid until I saw/heard it live I actually hate X-Kid in all its forms. Even during the show I attended I was bored during it. I hate and love Uno, Dos, and Tre at different times depending on my mood. No album stands out as particularly better or worse for me.
UNICORN VOMIT Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 I am not sure I understand the term bland for Tre - the whole idea of the trilogy was warm up/party/hangover. To me Tre is full of regret from the stuff ups in dos so to speak. It is suppose to have the more mellow sound. My order is Tre, Dos, Uno but I tend to play Dos the most out of the 3.
Cath Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Has anyone heard x-kid, kill the dj or stray heart on the radio at all in North America??? i heard Kill the DJ once and Oh Love was played everyday last summer/autumn. and full Dookie once
Eva Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Has anyone heard x-kid, kill the dj or stray heart on the radio at all in North America??? I've heard X-Kid once and Oh Love once, but that's it. Of course, the radio stations around here suck and the only Green Day songs played more than once are Boulevard of Broken Dreams and 21 Guns, so that might be why nothing's been on the radio.
Z J Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 X-Kid doesn't work very well live for some reason. The studio version is solid but it could've been better. It feels like J.A.R. with less of a punch
bioshockerxx Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 I've only heard Oh Love and Let Yourself Go on the radio last summer
Ham Pascale Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 dos > uno > tre. i love all of dos it's an amazing album not a single bad song on there. This.
Batgirl Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 This. I thought your username said "Bane" I got excited I always skip Little Boy Named Train, and Sex, Drugs and Violence.
Jon Benjamin Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 i've heard x-kid, stray heart, and let yourself go on the rock stations a few times. x-kid played in maurice's last week whenever i was shopping for new clothes too In Indiana?
munns6691 Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Most of Dos should have been released as the Foxboro Hot Tubs
bioshockerxx Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Am I the only one that feels there was no need for "See You Tonight"?
Lone Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Am I the only one that feels there was no need for "See You Tonight"?I've always thought it was ironic because it goes from "maybe I'll see you tonight" to "I'm here, oh baby baby it's fuck time." I quite like the song and wish they would write a longer song similar to it.

belinda jane Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 I like it too but I mean they could've put a full song but I like the way it goes into fuck time lol wouldn't that almost be the same as saying that about 'song of the century'? because they kind of have the same intention. they're technically both album openers that go into the next song.

Yeah forget I said anything lol. Lets just leave it as an opener
munns6691 Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Yeah forget I said anything lol. Lets just leave it as an opener I like See You Tonight better than Fuck Time
Z J Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Opinion: Amy will be the song that endures time the best from the Trilogy.
belinda jane Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 i don't really like 'amy' i always find myself turning off dos after 'wow! that's loud' - which i freakin' love to death!
Jon Benjamin Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 yep! i don't listen to the radio very much but i've heard all of them at least once and my friend hears them all the time when she listens to the radio while she's driving and always texts me about it haha.I heard The Forgotten on a random station on the north side of Indy
munns6691 Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Opinion: Amy will be the song that endures time the best from the Trilogy. Amy is good until the "Amy pleaseeee don't goooooo" it's just such a weak line
musso_kn Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 My rank for the trilogy is Tre>Dos>Uno I seem to be alone in thinking that Uno is the most samey, underwhelming album Green Day has ever released. Dos is a more exciting record and Tre holds some of Billie Joe's best song writing.
