No Rhyme Or Reason Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 I'm trying to remember more of my unpopular opinions..... I have a lot of them...... Okay. I love Rest - such a beautiful dreamy song, and so different from their other songs at the time. I love both of the instrumentals. Last Ride In is relaxing and hilarious all at once! And Espionage makes me feel like a ninja. It makes me feel like a really cool spy or something, haha! I hated Let Yourself Go at first because a) everyone was so overwhelmingly ecstatic about it and in love with it, and - more importunity b) everyone hated Oh Love. But I enjoy LYG now, even though it's in the bottom half of Uno for me.
Kayfabe Posted January 21, 2013 Author Posted January 21, 2013 I dislike people who dislike Brutal Love because "it's dull/boring". MIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII-IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII-IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINE. Im not saying its a bad song. I just like faster more punk or whatever you would call it, music. It's a shame, too. Green Day making songs that are more different and out there like that is what encourages people to broaden their musical horizons. Also, I'm torn on calling Brutal Love my favourite song of the trilogy. It probably is.
Platypus2000 Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Just a bit overrated. It grew a bad taste in my mouth when people started referring to it as some sort of lyrical high point for the band. It's a fantastic song, but I think the worship for it has gone a little overboard. Dude, I normally skip the rest after Dearly Beloved, in fact, I listen to if for Dearly Beloved.
Guest RedStrokes Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 50 Cent should have rapped on Nightlife. I still say tre should have rapped....... He would have fucking rocked it and looked hot while doin it.

Guest Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Is there any love for me C-Dawg? C-Dawg should have rapped on Nightlife, because C-Dawg sounds like it would be the name of a rapper from the early 90s. You have to earn my love by hating me for no discernible reason. I would have killed Nightlife.
No Rhyme Or Reason Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Just kidding Rhyme. You're one of my favorite posters on GDC. Break all the rules. Really?!? Aww, that's so nice!! You're one of my favorites too Ima break all the rules now! Mwahaha.
Dirty Rotten Bastard Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Dude, I normally skip the rest after Dearly Beloved, in fact, I listen to if for Dearly Beloved. Dearly Beloved is the best part of Jesus of Suburbia. It is known.
burnout409 Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 I love and enjoy everything Green Day has done relatively equally apart from a few songs e.g Nightlife and 21 guns .....
.Holly Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Whoa. Whoa. WHOA. You can't just say things like that. I mean, I love it if it comes on at a party or a night out (it's about the only GD song that ever does), and I love the lyrics. Maybe I've over listened to it or something. My favourite on Dookie is Longview, followed by FOD
Dirty Rotten Bastard Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Most importantly, if you don't like X-Kid I don't like your life.

Green Day making songs that are more different and out there like that is what encourages people to broaden their musical horizons. Also, I'm torn on calling Brutal Love my favourite song of the trilogy. It probably is.thats cool. Its your opinion. I do like some other tracks that people seem to hate on like i love makeout party because im a bass player and i love playing that solo. I also like little boy named train the most of tre and the same for troublemaker on uno.
.Holly Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Dearly Beloved is the best part of Jesus of Suburbia. It is known. I agree it's the best lyrically. I just love I Don't Care so much though.
Dirty Rotten Bastard Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 I like the lyrics to Sex, Drugs and Violence
VIVALAWHATSHERNAME Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 You have to earn my love by hating me for no discernible reason. I would have killed Nightlife. Does Matt hate you for no discernible reason? You would've dropped rhymes like Enola Gay drops atomic bombs.

Platypus2000 Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 I love Nightlife. Billie's chorus is catchy as fuck and the solid baseline behind Lady Cobra's lyrics is funky as. Her lyrics are tongue in cheek and I like that. "I hope there's more in your pants than a bus route" is funny. Love it. I still don't get that line
Guest Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Does Matt hate you for no discernible reason? You would've dropped rhymes like Enola Gay drops atomic bombs. Indeed. What? You mean once and I would have killed thousands of people?I still don't get that line Enough money for bus fare.
Platypus2000 Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Indeed. What? You mean once and I would have killed thousands of people? Enough money for bus fare. I pay 80p for the bus fare lmao.
greendepent Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 1) Homecoming kicks the ass of Jesus of Suburbia 2) Insomniac is the best record of Green Day, then comes 21st CB
musso_kn Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Mike has a good voice, but better than Billie? That's cray. Mike's voice is very raw and aggressive. I love that. Billie has great personality to his voice, but he ranges from boyish and almost incomprehensibly adenoidal on 39/smooth to ridiculously feminine and falsetto on 21CB. But, overall, he's got a lot of showmanship and that's what makes him an awesome frontman.
deadair Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 The B-side version of Maria is WAY better than the International Superhits version, it's so much more raw and no childhood interview snippet of Billie to sit through either. As much as it' s overplayed, American Idiot is one of Green Day's best albums, my 2nd favorite after Nimrod.
VIVALAWHATSHERNAME Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Indeed. What? You mean once and I would have killed thousands of people? Matt has trouble showing his affection, he means well though. Well, it's not ideal but I'm sure you understand.
musso_kn Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 i dont know what ur implying with this but i like the reference A+ Both fans talk about 'dark' each record was and how awesome that kind of tone made it. It's hard to explain if you've never been an Avril fan.
