OneSongInFrench Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Lazy Bones and 99 Revs have the same drum intro. That's what happens when you write a shit tonne of songs in a short period of time, bits of them sound the same. It wasn't even like a sound the same issue, I literally was playing it on guitar and played it faster and it was the same thing. lol that's them going "We need another song..fuck it, speed it up!"

Strange how they turned out being 2 of the best songs on the Trilogy, haha.
OneSongInFrench Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Strange how they turned out being 2 of the best songs on the Trilogy, haha. Yeah I wasn't going to bring that up lmao. I love those two songs. Oh yeah unpopular opinion..um... Misery is one of my favorite songs.
JIGD13 Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Actually the Sex Drugs and Violence part of English Math and science made me think that the song was related to teenagers in school and high school years
Sarcasm Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Actually the Sex Drugs and Violence part of English Math and science made me think that the song was related to teenagers in school and high school yearsprobably is, still a pretty weak piece of lyrical content considering who it came from, imo.
Akshat Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 And didn't win... which I think was her point. She said anything off Shennanigans isn't even close to Grammy Quality. But if it get's nomnated for a grammy means it got considered for a grammy, which in turn means it is grammy quality.Just because a song is a part of a bside compilation does not mean it doesn't deserve a grammy. It didn't win a grammy means it's not grammy quality, that's the lamest logic you can ever give.

I'm pretty sure you just contradicted yourself there mate. I'm sure it was a vintage year for the Grammy's when the theme song to Austin Powers was in consideration.

I'm sure it was a vintage year for the Grammy's when the theme song to Austin Powers was in consideration. I most certainly did not.I just have one thing to say:Espionage is a Grammy quality song.If you got anything against that, kill yourself for all I care. The fact that it got nominated means it's grammy quality.End of story.

Dude, the fact that IT DIDN'T WIN proves it wasn't Grammy quality. If it was deserving of a Grammy it would have won. Logic lesson for today is done, bye now.

Logic lesson for today is done, bye now. Grammy Quality(Urban Dictionary)-A musical record(album/single/ep) that is in consideration for a Grammy award.Period. All songs that come under nomination of a grammy award can come under the category of grammy quality sound. There are hardly 4-5 songs nominated under one category. The critics decide which one deserves to win the award, as only one song can win.Even American Idiot(the song) was nominated for record of the year but it lost.So did Longview(best hard rock performance). That does not mean they are not good songs. They most certainly were good enough to win a grammy. That's what I'm trying to say. I usually apologise for using harsh words but not this time.It really irritates me how people get off the topic and then back that up with "THAT ESCALATED QUICKLY" and shit.I initially wrote about how espionage and ha ha you're dead were good songs and should not be in a bside compilation but then it was dragged till here.So yes, bring it on brother. It was NOT nominated Show me proof... google it
Guest Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Grammy Quality(Urban Dictionary) Yeah I stopped reading after here because Urban Dictionary is an open source.
OneSongInFrench Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 It was NOT nominated Show me proof... I don't agree that it was a good song, (just my opinion!) but http://www.digitalhit.com/grammy/42/nominees.shtml - it was nominated.
Akshat Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 "best rock instrumental performance" is barely even a real grammy anyway. they don't even show it on tv so who cares I will ignore thisYeah I stopped reading after here because Urban Dictionary is an open source. so is wikipedia.
Guest Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 so is wikipedia. Which is why I don't accept Wikipedia as a source either.
Akshat Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Which is why I don't accept Wikipedia as a source either. I feel sorry for you then
OneSongInFrench Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Liking/Disliking a song is your opinion. So relax. There must be certain songs that I hate but you like. Don't have to tell me to relax man, I was backing your Grammy claim up to be kind. I never said there's a problem with anyone liking the song did I? lol. Cause there isn't!

And the fact it didnt even win a worthless award just proves it was not album worthy
BlackBaboon Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 I'm just gonna throw this out there, but I don't think the Grammys even matter. I mean if you look at lists of winners, especially more recently, there are a lot of records missing and more importantly, winners which are just average but popular. Everyone can decide whether Green Day falls into that category or not for themselves, but the point is, I don't think winning really means too much. Christoper Chross beat The Clash and Pink Floyd in 1980. A redone version of Layla beat Smells like Teen Spirit for best rock song in 1992. That's a joke, it wasn't the original release of that song. How the hell does that beat Smells like teen spirit in 1992.
blitzkriegdeb Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Wasn't Espionage only nominated or whatever because it was in Austin Powers
Tubbie Head Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Wow I did not know Espionage was nominated for a grammy

Layla beat SLTS because at that time the voting members of the Grammys were mostly older people of music industry now there's alot more younger voters but they nominate the popular acts The Grammys is a big deal in the music business tho in the last few years it hasnt been the way it was hell I didnt even vote last year may not this year
Jon Benjamin Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 It wasn't even like a sound the same issue, I literally was playing it on guitar and played it faster and it was the same thing. lol that's them going "We need another song..fuck it, speed it up!" then you're playing it wrong.. That's not even hard to hear. 8th ave serenade: first few notes go down up down (note wise), and it's a 2 measure cycle. Stay the night the first few notes go up and it's a totally different melody. They're just in the same key and same octave.

They're just in the same key and same octave. I know it's not directly note for note the same, but it was just extremely similar. Trust me, I'm playing them both correctly.
