Guest Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 I wasn't aware his eyebrows were causing any kind of rage. In fact, how can eyebrows cause rage? They're just awkwardly placed hair. I've not seen it often, but some people think they're too big, bushy, need to be plucked. But it's like.. What the fuck?

HolyHandGrenade Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 I think if Shenanigans was released and promoted instead of Warning, it would have been way more popular and successful for them. Just replace On the Wagon and Espionage with Maria and Poprocks and Coke. (And yes, I LOVE Warning btw)
Snows Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 Ok, a confession. I never heard Shenanigans. *hide*

Eva Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 Woodstock '94 is comparable to a normal Stooges gig back in the 70s. That was proper insanity. Green Day have nothing on them. Shit like climbing up 30 foot stages, smearing himself with peanut butter, and stabbing himself with nails. Iggy Pop makes Green Day look boring. Did you just call Taylor Swift a slut? Because that's kinda not cool dude. I love you. Green Day puts on superb performances, but if we're talking outrageous shit, y'all need to look up The Stooges or MC5.

It's mutual Green Day are very tame live, really. Even the Brits were better. The drummer from The Damned was known to throw his own shit into the audience, and Adam & The Ants actually had a dominatrix on retainer for their live shows.

You would have to be high and drunk to want to go to those shows
Eva Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 You would have to be high and drunk to want to go to those shows Or, you know, wanting to see a great, legendary band live.
Snows Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 Thank you, Holy!!! *hides to hear it* *appears* Ok, it's so cool. Nice surprise to hear Tired of waiting for you, is one of my favourites by The Kinks. And I want to be on tv is a shame, omg. Edit: Ok, On the wagon is bad too. >< And Spionage doesn't sounds like a GD song.

"3 am, I'm drunk again", "Sick to death and dizzy spells", etc... Well this conversation probably belongs in the Shenanigans thread, so I'll stop here.

musso_kn Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 I just want to go back on one of the first things I posted in this thread and say I actually like WMUWSE now. Also, there's a part of Haushinka that makes me cringe because it reminds me of Busted. It's the bit where Billie sings 'waiting for you now'. Apart from that, though, it's an awesome song.
EggMong Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 On the Wagon is my favorite song off Shenanigans along with Do Da Da.
Iain Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Nightlife has grown on me.I shall now run away before you all hit me with splintered sticks.
Guest Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Nightlife has grown on me.I shall now run away before you all hit me with blunt, splintered sticks. I don't even care about Nightlife, but how can a stick be both splintered and blunt?
Iain Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 I don't even care about Nightlife, but how can a stick be both splintered and blunt? Good point, brb.EDIT: Done.

I have always loved Wake Me Up When September Ends 'cause my dad also died of cancer so I get it, you know? I can't stand the music video though.
LazyPhil Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 I used to think that Let Yourself Go was a stupid song.
musso_kn Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 I have always loved Wake Me Up When September Ends 'cause my dad also died of cancer so I get it, you know? I can't stand the music video though. The thing was, my dad experienced the death of his own father some years ago and I recently played him Wake Me Up... and casually told him what it was about. He seemed really moved by it. I guess even though I haven't had the same kind of loss, I've begun to realise how beautiful the song really is. And you're right, the video does it no justice whatsoever.I used to think that Let Yourself Go was a stupid song. It IS kinda stupid. It's catchy and energetic but the lyrics seem really forced.

This song touches me a lot because this year it's the 20th anniversary of my mother's death, so...
