JIGD13 Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 The most important spectation that I have is that Green Day for the first time ever comes here and then the new stage
iScottie Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 I don't really know what they have up their sleeves for this tour. I'm going to assume that it's something big, especially because they had to cancel several tour dates, promotions, etc. I feel like a lot of new songs will be played, which I'm okay with. As long as they have a slew of older songs, everybody wins. I'd like to hear See You Tonight on the radio before they come on stage. I'd also like them to open up with Nuclear Family. While it's difficult to come up with a setlist, I'd really enjoy hearing the following songs played: 1. 99 Revolutions 2. 409 In Your Coffee Maker 3. Amanda 4. American Idiot 5. Armatage Shanks 6. At The Library 7. Baby Eyes 8. Basket Case 9. Blood, Sex, And Booze 10. Boulevard Of Broken Dreams 11. Brain Stew / Jaded 12. Brutal Love 13. Castaway 14. Coming Clean 15. Dirty Rotten Bastards 16. Drama Queen 17. East Jesus Nowhere 18. Fuck Time 19. Going To Pasalacqua 20. Hitchin' A Ride 21. Holiday 22. Jesus Of Suburbia 23. Kill The DJ 24. King For A Day / Shout 25. Lazy Bones 26. Letterbomb 27. Little Boy Named Train 28. Longview 29. Minority 30. Murder City 31. No Pride 32. Nuclear Family 33. Oh Love 34. One Of My Lies 35. Paper Lanterns 36. Prosthetic Head (Acoustic) 37. Redundant 38. Rusty James (Acoustic) 39. Scattered 40. Sex, Drugs, And Violence 41. Stop When The Red Lights Flash 42. Stray Heart 43. Troublemaker 44. Warning (Acoustic) 45. When I Come Around 46. Who Wrote Holden Caulfield? 47. Wild One 48. Wow! That's Loud 49. X-Kid I don't see this happening, especially because it's almost impossible to play 50 songs in 3 hours, but those are the songs I wouldn't mind hearing. Give or take a couple. I wouldn't mind hearing St. Jimmy instead of Oh Love or Stay The Night, for example.
DTH Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 50 songs? i mean you can always hope, but that is just useless to post this. it will never happen. i think they will play around 15 songs out of the trilogy... and with the 37 songs we got this is ok.... i just hope they will include all albums and don't leave the 2 early albums out of their set and that they exchange some of the songs they have in the set for years. i'd say the only songs they have to play to not make the average crowd angry: basket case and good riddance, maybe american idiot and bobd, too. so if they want to satisfy me: - play old stuff -play different stuff - at least 30 songs - quit the hey hos here is a setlist mixed between hope and realistic expectation. and i try to pay attention onwhat many people seem to forget: how important the song order is, because of the different dynamics and stuff... Intro: See you tonight (played from the record) 1) Nuclear Family 2) Let yourself go 3) American Idiot 4) 8th Avenue Serenade 5) Lazy Bones 6) X-Kid 7) iViva la Gloria! 8) Holiday 9) One for the Razorbacks 10) She 11) Stuck with me 12) Dirty Rotten Bastards 13) Sex, Drugs and Violence 14) Church on Sunday 15) Sweet 16 16) Letterbomb 17) Brutal Love 18) Missing You 19) Scattered 20) Basket Case 21) Whatsername ------------------------------ 22) Jesus of Suburbia 23) Are we the Waiting 24) 99 Revolutions 25) No Pride 26) Ashley 27) Lady Cobra 28) Fuck Time ----------------------- 29) Boulevard of Broken Dreams 30) Coming Clean 31) One of my Lies 32) Going to Pasalaqua 33) Dry Ice 34) Only of You ------------------- Accoustic encore: 35) Amy 36) Minnesota Girl 37) Good Riddance
deadair Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 - quit the hey hos 14) Church on Sunday 25) No Pride 33) Dry Ice 36) Minnesota Girl Just because Billie is (supposedly) going to be doing shows sober, doesn't mean he's going to be a completely different (and tame) frontman. I don't think Billie will stop the "hey-ohs" as that's his way of getting the crowd excited and involved. And I seriously doubt the first three songs I quoted will be played live again in their entirety, maybe a snippet will be played here or there. Never say never, though. And if I remember right Minnesota Girl has only been played in Minnesota so I can't picture them playing it on tour consistently.

Asa. Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 I actually kind of hope they focus on playing mostly trilogy songs and maybe some Dookie and Insomniac. Then again I wouldn't mind hearing "Whatsername" or "Words I Might Have Ate".
Annie, get your gun Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 I don't think the "Hey Oh's" are a problem or something to "care about"... but I must admit that sometimes I'm sick of them

I thought you said that was a realistic setlist between hits and album tracks? A bunch of the songs are realistic, I was just pointing out the couple that weren't. But like i said before, never say never though.
AndrewW91 Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 It just wouldn't feel right without any "Hey-Ohs'"...
AlissaGoesRAWR Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 50 songs? i mean you can always hope, but that is just useless to post this. it will never happen. i think they will play around 15 songs out of the trilogy... and with the 37 songs we got this is ok.... i just hope they will include all albums and don't leave the 2 early albums out of their set and that they exchange some of the songs they have in the set for years. i'd say the only songs they have to play to not make the average crowd angry: basket case and good riddance, maybe american idiot and bobd, too. so if they want to satisfy me: - play old stuff -play different stuff - at least 30 songs - quit the hey hos Weird. To satisfy me, they just have to show up. ... I'd say a crowd without Longview might be a little angry too. It's kind of a given, really. what do the hey hos have to do with tame front man? they are just a sheepish rock star behaviour and i am sick of it. you know : the most enrgetic live bands don't need those tricks. they interact with the crowd by letting them sing parts of songs, which is totaly fine, doing stage dives, talking a bit or accepting song requests. the hey hos are just a lame ambition of creating fake atmosphere when you fail with your songs..... and you shouldn't fail with green day songs in my opinion. I think that's a little harsh. Green Day's been called the best live show you'll ever see by just average fans, even non-fans I know. If the hey-ohs were such a frowned upon behavior I think he would have ditched them a long time ago. People still show up each tour to see the band, so I don't know how they can be "failing" with their songs. And frankly, it's their music and they can do whatever the fuck they want to with it anyway... I mean, yeah I'd rather hear a couple extra songs than a collective 10 minutes of hey-ohs, but whatever, I'm privileged enough to be going to a concert in March, so I'm not going to complain. Plenty of people won't get the same opportunity. I'll maybe joke about it and stuff, but they're kind of like a love-hate thing. We all know they're not going anywhere.
swatza Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 I think Lazy Bones would be a great opener to welcome him back

GuitarPunk94 Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 i hope they will continue playing long shows/sets i would also be happy if they dont play much songs from AI/21CB and instead the trilogy songs, classics and rare/old stuff i wonder if they will play the trilogy songs in random order or if they use this 'get ready for the party-party-reflection' theme and first play some uno songs, then dos, ... out of all trilogy songs i reeeeaaally wanna hear these live (i already heard LYG,Oh Love,Fuck Time,99 Revolutions live so i exclude this songs): UNO = Nuclear Family,STN,Rusty James DOS = SWTRLF,Lazy Bones,Makeout Party,Stray Heart,Lady Cobra,Amy TRÉ = Missing You,8th Ave Serenade,X-Kid,Amanda,Dirty Rotten Bastards
DecanoLP Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 W I think that's a little harsh. Green Day's been called the best live show you'll ever see by just average fans, even non-fans I know. If the hey-ohs were such a frowned upon behavior I think he would have ditched them a long time ago. I disagree. There are lots of people, especially at festivals, who aren't hardcore fans and complain a lot about Billie Joe's hey-ho screaming. I can totally understand them, this is just a typical rock star stadium behaviour and I'm so sick of it. Interaction with the crowd is important and they're damn good at it, but it has become too much. Anyway, I think we can expect around 30 songs, but I have the bad feeling that they're gonna lose sight of their real old songs That's always the disadvantage for a new touring cycle for me.

GenesisJames Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Green Day's always full of suprises, so I have no idea what they'll do. XD I would like them to play Kill The DJ, 'cause I'm really interested how it'll sound live. I would also find it highly hilarious if they played Nightlife just to fuck with most fans. XD

GenesisJames Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 wanna help me murder lady cobra? Sorry, I'm one of the fans who was actually okay with Nightlife. Thanks for the offer, though.
ExtraordinaryGirl23 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 I'm depressed that my CO shoe got cancelled. So I'm currently ticketless... Waiting to plan vacation when they announce tour dates. I expect lots of glitters and sex. Sorry, I'm one of the fans who was actually okay with Nightlife. Thanks for the offer, though. Ok I like nightlife... Didn't think you did o.o I'm into it. Feel like a terrible person but I like all of it except for the hand on the hooch lyric

Feel like a terrible person but I like all of it except for the hand on the hooch lyric I do admit that the "Baby girl Coco dancing the cooch/ got one hand on my knee - one on the hooch" part was... unnecessary, to say the least. XD But I think it fits the "story" of the album and is actually a better song than most people think it is. Glad to see I'm not the only one who's fine with it. XD
AlissaGoesRAWR Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 like you just did?? thanks for the " warning " Haha, yup, nice pun! I'm depressed that my CO shoe got cancelled. So I'm currently ticketless... Waiting to plan vacation when they announce tour dates. I expect lots of glitters and sex. Ok I like nightlife... Didn't think you did o.o I'm into it. Feel like a terrible person but I like all of it except for the hand on the hooch lyric That line is so bad. Not bad like sexual. Bad like... just... bad.

DannyDirnt Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 I hope they keep on playing Coming Clean often. I love that song, and it's one of the Green Day songs I can relate to the most
beejeezee Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 I don't think the "Hey Oh's" are a problem or something to "care about"... but I must admit that sometimes I'm sick of them But they are Billie's trademark, you can't get rid of them.
