Cath Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Maybe St Jimmy could be taking off but I think songs as Minority, Holiday, AI & even KYE should stay because they are so full of energy and the crowd goes crazy during these songs. They could take off 2000 LYA thought. I love this song but I would prefer a new trilogy song. And yes I think they're scared to play new stuff. You can easily see the difference between the hits and the new songs when they play the crowd don't sing at all. In AI and 21stCB they had many hits from the new albums to play at the show which was great but now the promotion has failed so majority of people don't know the lyrics.
brutal kid Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 oh trust me i think they SHOULD be playing it, if that song won't get people to give the trilogy a chance then nothing will. i just think they're scared to play too much new stuff. Really? I dont know why but DRB didnt really impress me, Brutal love was amazing, I think it's one of their best songs, and oh yeah Missing you too.Maybe St Jimmy could be taking off but I think songs as Minority, Holiday, AI & even KYE should stay because they are so full of energy and the crowd goes crazy during these songs. They could take off 2000 LYA thought. I love this song but I would prefer a new trilogy song. Yeah and put razorbacks instead of 2000 light years away. And instead of paper lanterns put dry ice or 1000 hours
NoManCanEat50drumsticks Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 I'm ready to swear that Missing You will be a kick ass song to play live!!
AlissaGoesRAWR Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 But I mean how they can expect people to like the trilogy songs if they don't promote it. I'm not saying promote them in concerts, but they can release more singles singles, commercials and those things. That way people will start listening their new songs. In other words, one cannot expect things to happen, if you don't do something about it. That obviously means that they need to start promote it again, and for sure people will be interested... Oh, I completely agree. I would love to see some promotion in the next month, but we'll see what happens... Yeah and put razorbacks instead of 2000 light years away. And instead of paper lanterns put dry ice or 1000 hours They haven't played Paper Lanterns...
St.JimmyxChristiansInferno Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 I dont know why but they stopped playing Let Yourself Go and I really really hope they play it tomorrow
albert1285 Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 OK apparently they'll have about one month free with no concerts from what GDA calendar and tour date says. From April 18th to May 24th. So like Alissa said hopefully, they do something during next month to promote more the trilogy. I have this weird feeling that probably Europe and other countries will get more of the trilogy than USA, if that so then the only thing we can do is possibly wait for a second leg tour here in the USA.

jona92 Posted April 19, 2013 Posted April 19, 2013 Must say I'm dissapointed with the setlist. Looks like not much has changed since 21st CB Tour. And why don't they play more songs from the trilogy like Kill the DJ, Nuclear Family or Lady Cobra or Let yourself go... was looking forward to hear them live, going to see them July 2nd with girlfriend. If only they're gonna play Amy she says she will be happy, but I keep telling her most likely not they're gonna play it The setlist from Echoplex is a killer, they just keep it like that troughout the whole tour

But I keep believing the setlist for the second part of the tour will be better. I mean more trilogy songs. Mike said in a comment in instagram that they were waiting for people to know more about the trilogy and to buy the CDs before adding some songs.
Mar Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 I'm not expecting anything to happen in the next month. I think that'll be a break time for everyone and they'll just show up in Italy the day before the show and not much will change. Not trying to be an asshole, but I just see this month as being a recover/reboot time, a "thank fuck we got through this third of the tour, now the real hard work begins" time.

You don't think they'll need anything to get them ready? Like how they booked the random three club shows before this leg kicked off? (Not being antagonistic, just wondering! I'm still holding out for them to do SOMETHING this month. But doubtful.) I must insist on being a pessimist...

Looking at the Oakland/Tempe/El Paso dates not that random since they rode in a bus they were on the way to Austin but yeah you have a point

Previously unscheduled dates? You know what I mean.
stories and songs Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 I'd absolutely love to see them do some promo. At the same time I think they're freaking lunatics because I think they are under the impression that this length of touring is "taking it easy", and it is so not. So if they take a break and just chill out, I'll be happy with that, too.

(Not being antagonistic, just wondering! I'm still holding out for them to do SOMETHING this month. But doubtful.) I must insist on being a pessimist... No, that's true. I guess I was talking in terms of public promotion. Now that you mention it, maybe another secret show in Italy or somewhere else in Europe since some of the dates have decent-sized breaks between one date and the next, even with travel time. But let's be real, how much publicity do those secret shows really drum up beyond the fandom and maybe a quick writeup in/on NME, Rolling Stone, etc.? It's a shame, but true.
DannyDirnt Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 I doubt they'll take a break now. I mean, c'mon. They've had such a long break, they've just come back last month and they're having fun.

Yeah, national/international promo-wise, I'm really not expecting much at all. Everything seems fan-driven now (ahem, besides the setlists) because I feel like they kind of realize a comeback isn't very likely... people just aren't into real music right now. They like techno dance shit. So I wouldn't be surprised by some surprise shows, but probably not much else. Disclaimer: Not saying the music isn't good, or I wouldn't LOVE a comeback for world domination, but I'm just being realistic.
fatherotti Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Specifically for the next US leg I'm expecting them to change up their setlists drastically. Kinda like during 21st CB, the first leg had some dull setlists, it was the second leg where they tore it up.
The Platypus! Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 This has probably been said in the thread before. But is anyone absolutely gutted that good riddance isn't the final song anymore?
J of Suburbia Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 This has probably been said in the thread before. But is anyone absolutely gutted that good riddance isn't the final song anymore? yes I wish they would bring it back as the closer
HolyHandGrenade Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 This has probably been said in the thread before. But is anyone absolutely gutted that good riddance isn't the final song anymore? It's about a 50/50 split for Brutal Love vs Good Riddance
Tubbie Head Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Specifically for the next US leg I'm expecting them to change up their setlists drastically. Kinda like during 21st CB, the first leg had some dull setlists, it was the second leg where they tore it up. Yeah, I think they will... The 1st leg of the 21st CBD tour was pretty much all the same songs no rarities, and then they started throwing them in as the tour went on! I wish I could have seen them in the second leg!
Cath Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 I think they will add Nuclear Family in the second leg. They soundchecked the song a lot during the last shows.

Anything dealing with promotion is up to Warner, not the band. So releasing singles, videos, etc are completely out of Green Day's control. Warner very well could have told them that they are done doing anything as far as the Trilogy is concerned. If that's the case, then we have seen all the promotion it will get. It's very sad, but it's the reality of the situation.
Tubbie Head Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 I think they will add Nuclear Family in the second leg. They soundchecked the song a lot during the last shows. It should be the opening! Look at that countdown.. just perfect to get people pumped up!
