Expectations for the "Trilogy Tour"

Speechless & Redundant

I'm not happy that they've dropped Stray Heart, hope that it makes its way back very soon since it's my favourite song from the trilogy.

Not a big fan of the setlist as a whole either, basically all the songs they play from 39/Smooth-21CB were played all the time or at least often at the 21CB Tour. But I do think that they can replace with songs that have the same purpose and make the setlist a lot more interesting, they can even take some songs that have been played a few times in recent years. For example replace Burnout, When I Come Around, Geek Stink Breath & Hitchin’ A Ride with Armatage Shanks, Waiting, Stuck With Me & Prosthetic Head. I'm not expecting it but I would love those changes.

I hope that they play DRB in Milan

Somebody asked Mike Dirnt at the House Of Guitars yesterday for them to play Dirty Rotten Bastards last night and he said that they were thinking about it but were mostly waiting for more people to purchase Tre.

That's a pretty bullshit excuse, in my opinion. First, the majority of people who are going to the concert have probably heard the Trilogy AT LEAST once. Secondly, if they play some of their newer songs, people would be more inclined to purchase the albums because they are ACTUALLY being promoted.

I feel like they're just waiting for something to give with the promotion. I seems logical that they might save DRB for Europe around the time that 99 Revs might get released as a single. I think these primary months will be very stripped down, just "go out and play" for the band until they can get warmed up for promo and appearances on tv

Well, it has been a while since GD did their last gig.

What do you expect in their comeback?

I hope at some point they play the whole fuckin' trilogy to then do what they did in the 21CB tour: just jam the old stuff.

What do you guys think?

I'm hoping that thre will be an Asian leg. >.<

Honestly, i'm glad i'm waiting for the second leg of the tour. It's going to be so much better considering all the tinkering they're going to be doing with the setlist and stage fanatics. I made it to the 2nd leg of the 21CB tour back in 2010 and it was a rockin show. JAR made it on AAF. They'll be top notch and have a sick setlist second leg i bet.

It would be pretty cool if they smashed their instruments during Good Riddance. Atleast once...

Why would they possibly do that? (I hope you're kidding)

It's been done at this point...that's what they did throughout the Warning tour (I think there's some great footage on the Edgefest tape...did I just say tape...yes, I did record this show on vhs back in '98? God I'm old). Anyway, the odds of seeing them smash their instruments these days (with the exception of the Vegas incident, which God willing won't happen again anytime soon) is probably minimal.

Whoever pushed forward the idea of taking hitchin' a ride off the setlist needs a smack.

I was gonna say deserves to be shot, but that would probably involve killing one of the band members soooooooo...

I hope for more funny antics.

I definitely hope to see more new songs by the time a proper UK tour rolls round. I have no problems with hearing older stuff, but I can't understand from the band's point of view why they keep it so repetitive. I'd get bored of playing almost the exact same songs every show on the whole tour...

I'm really hoping for Nuclear Family, Let yourself go, oh love (yes it's frickin' awesome live), fell for you, SWTRF, lady cobra, wow", X-kid, Walk away, DRB and 99R. :D

I know they've done it before, I just think it would be cool if they did it again. It was funny when Tré set his drumset on fire and Mike smashing his bass.

Yeah, that sounds really strange... But that's good news for me at least, I'm seeing them in 3 months! That's enough waiting time for them to play iTre! songs.

Why Good Riddance of all the songs?

Why Good Riddance of all the songs?

Because they used to do that during the warning era.

Really? hahah I actually didn't know that... I think Billie is now more cautious with his guitars :P It would be much nicer to give them to fans, instead of smashing them (they did that last tour, not sure if they're doing it now)

I want some gf picks or a drumstick haha but I'm going to one in la in all honesty I have me faves but whatever songs they're inclined to play I will be happy with I'd just prefer it being a longer show like the 2010 ones

Billie didn't smash his guitar, he played Good Riddance while Mike and Tré destroyed everything.

YES. That & Good Riddance. I'm so pissed they've dropped some of their best songs lately. I've been dying to see both of those live & now they're gone, I'll never see them live, I'm just.. Ugh

Actually, having done some further research since making this post, it looks like you couldbe in luck when you see them in June. Check out the setlist down the side of the article:

No Hitchin' a Ride as far as I can see, but they finished with Good Riddance. I suppose that suggests that neither song has been completely dropped; they've just decided to play them less regularly. Alas, there is hope!

I thought the same as you. I always pictured myself at my first concert, singing along to Good Riddance at the end. I was all bummed about that Sunday. Then, after Brutal Love, when everyone was getting ready to leave, he went over to grab his acoustic guitar which was over by the side of the stage where I was standing... I immediately knew what was going to happen and I burst into tears. I couldn't have asked for a better first concert. It was amazing. :) There's a very good shot he'll play Good Riddance! When are you seeing them?
