Expectations for the "Trilogy Tour"

Speechless & Redundant

But not during the actual part of the tour.

“Song Of The Century”, “21st Century Breakdown”, “Know Your Enemy”, “East Jesus Nowhere”, “Holiday”, “Are We The Waiting”, “St. Jimmy”, “Boulevard Of Broken Dreams”, “Brain Stew”, “Jaded”, “Basket Case”, “She”, “King For A Day”, “Shout (including some covers)”, “21 Guns”, “American Idiot” and “Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)” were the songs (=17) that were played at every single show throughout the entire 21CB - Tour (132 times).

You see, way to many stickies. I don't want this to happen again.

Since no more booze, does that mean no more Drunk Bunny? Or maybe The Sober Bunny? Eating carrots and drinking water :P

My dream setlist includes Homecoming, DRB, Murder City, Scattered, Uptight, JOS, Panic Song, Holden Caulfield, Suffocate, TMTS, Shoplifter, Castaway, 21st Century Breakdown, and Nuclear Family. Unfortunately, it's pretty obvious this will never happen. Half of these song might only get played once a year, if at all, and that's just heartbreaking.

i've been wondering this too  i feel like they probably won't have it anymore which is kind of a bummer since it's tradition but it would be weird if they did.

Maybe I don't know what I'll be missing, but I'm fine with just Bohemian Rhapsody pre-show

I forgot the drunk bunny even existed until right now

Expectations? Well... not the repetitive an too much crowd interaction like if they were Jonas Brothers... at least 20 of the hole new 37 songs... Jaded coming back to the set list... more "never played" great songs from past albums like Panic Song, or Haushinka, or Having A Blast... new things... not the same agenda like if I were watching BIAB and AAF all the time... no more Minority, at least the long version... I like that song, but they should play it like in Warning... became the serious and great band that they could be if they wanted to... a mix between Pink Floyd and David Bowie in their category of performers, with the explosion of The Ramones, but with our guys taking the shit out of their HUGE potential

well yeah bohemian rhapsody will be awesome but they used to have rock n roll radio, then drunk bunny came out for blitzkreig bop, then the music for the band's entrance would come on. i don't really care either way i'm just curious to see what they're gonna do now

Semi-related:

I'd love to see The Network open for GD

That depressing moment when you realize that there is possibly no more drunk bunny.... -.- oh well. I'm going to the Moline, IL date on the 29th. And I'm hoping for more songs from tge triology instead of just from Uno!....? I know they play Oh Love, Let Yourself Go... what about Stray Heart, Lazy Bones, X-Kid, Dirty Rotten Bastards, or 8th Avenue Serenade? :D that one might be wishful thinking. I just hope they keep the majority of major classics in... and just add more from the trilogy ^_^

I really don't know how DB's gonna be treated. It's awkward for obvious reasons, but I mean, he's still a big part of the band's aesthetic and history (AAF, Billie's tattoo, etc.) so they may keep him for old time's sake.

Here is one of my favorite photos ever for your time

I hope that they will play a lot of songs from the Trilogy

Blitzkrieg Bop, Bunny doing YMCA and Rock n Roll Radio should stay forever in my book. Epic atmosphere.

Why the fuck they aren't playing Dirty Rotten Bastards, which is easily the best song out of the whole trilogy, is truly beyond me.

I honestly think they have something special planned for it so they don't wanna debut it until the real tour.

They have been playing Brutal Love, X-Kid, 99 Revs and SWTRLF recently - none of those are from Uno. Lazy Bones probably won't get played until Billie is truly ready to.

When Green Day were playing the first shows in 2012 and skipped the acoustic encore, I was really hoping for it to come back and was super glad when it did. Right now, I really somehow couldn't care less because I think Brutal Love is just as great as the acoust encore, probably even better as a closer. I really hope they'll keep it this way!

I'm not even expecting the acoustic encore any more, i think that might have been just for the last tour (despite it being an awesome ender).

I refuse to believe this :(

completely agree.

I would enjoy that :D I hope they still bring the bunny on tour. I consider it a GD classic!

Well, I hope less American Idiot songs (I don't like the mix of Brain stew and St Jimmy, for instance), "new" rare old or never played live Green Day songs (Poprocks and coke, 86, Ha ha you're dead, Prosthetic Head, Macy's Day Parade, Waiting, Redundant, One of my lies, etc), drop some songs from the setlist (Letterbomb, King for a day/shout, Know your enemy, JOS) and MORE from the Trilogy like Nuclear Family, Kill the DJ, Rusty James, Lazy Bones (Less probable for obvious reason), Makeout Party, Wild one, Missing you, Drama Queen, Dirty Rotten Bastards. And change the covers or just none of them.

Also, I like the idea of changing the classics on every show to get more variation on each setlist (Basket Case/She, Boulevard of Broken Dreams/21 Guns, etc)

I have to say that I will be pissed if I ever go to another GD concert and don't get to hear St. Jimmy. It's an amazing song, their energy is ALWAYS through the roof, the crowd goes fucking nuts, and it's just awesome. And I'm saying this as somebody who has been going to shows for a looooong time.

I hope that they will play the concert with fun and happiness :D

My only expectation for the tour is that they actually play more than just 3-5 songs from their brand new catalog of 35 songs. That's what the tour is supposed to be promoting, isn't it? Can't say I've been happy with what setlists they've put together so far....though I suppose it's best to go with the easiest things to ween Billie back into the touring life.

I'm hoping that during the short hiatus they have between their show at SXSW and the start of their world tour, that they're at home rehearsing more Trilogy songs. That doesn't seem too far fetched, does it?

I'm also not expecting them to play DRB. I'd love it if they did, but that song is probably hell to play.

I'm just expecting the show to be epic. They'll play whatever they want and I'll be happy :)

I expect Lazy Bones. This song MUST be play live
