PanicAttack! Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 I think that setlist is more or less the duration for a 21st CB tour concert. It's definitely at least 3 and a half hours, which is way more than the average Green Day show. Usually it's a little over 2 and a half hours, and a few times they went close to three and a half on that tour, but only a couple of times
LisaBJA Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 It would be awesome when they play 3 and a half hours or 4 hours

DannyDirnt Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 I need Brutal Love as the closer in Bilbao Either that or The Forgotten, one of those.

HolyHandGrenade Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 I posted this on the El Paso thread, but it's relevant here too. Know Your Enemy needs to go. Replace it with Nuclear Family or Let Yourself Go and add 21st Century Breakdown or American Eulogy somewhere else to keep a song from 21CB
SuperXCsabre495 Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Do they remember that Jaded is supposed to come after Brain Stew and not St. Jimmy?
That Dude Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 more sex, drugs and violence! more the forgotten! more F-time!!
porksoda Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 The set list from last night in Texas was pretty damn good, but I could do without some of the Dookie hits and play more from the trilogy/play longer and play more from the trilogy. I really like when they change up the formula each show. I could do without KFAD/Shout and Minority and the rock covers we've all heard a hundred times. I just want some more variety, but I feel like because my shows are always in the Los Angeles area that they feel like they need to play the hits. Also, does anyone just want them to ditch the outfits and play in what they wore during the secret shows?
iScottie Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Nightlife will MORE THAN LIKELY be played tonight, as Lady Cobra is in Austin today for SXSW. Hopefully they do a Sex, Drugs, And Violence / Little Boy Named Train performance, as well as Dirty Rotten Bastards.
inthehallwaynow Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Well my expectation was met..i mean i havent seen them play it live in person but they have played brutal love live which is amazing and maybe it will become a normal part of the setlist so new expectation i hope they come out with a live professional hd quality video of them playing it..
The Grohl Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Well my expectation was met..i mean i havent seen them play it live in person but they have played brutal love live which is amazing and maybe it will become a normal part of the setlist so new expectation i hope they come out with a live professional hd quality video of them playing it.. They did?! I must see this footage!
Sarahnade Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Nightlife will MORE THAN LIKELY be played tonight, as Lady Cobra is in Austin today for SXSW. Have to admit this crossed my mind when I saw that Mystic Knights of the Cobra were at SXSW. I guess we'll see.
WorryRock02 Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Yeah! me tto i think the 'll play Night life tonight! it' could be very cool and funny at the same time
AlissaGoesRAWR Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 agreed with all of this. do they really need to play longview, basketcase, when i come around and possibly either burnout or coming clean at every show? king for a day/shout is fun but they've been doing the same thing with it since 2004. i'm over it. i think pretty much everyone is over it. i sound like i'm complaning a lot but i just think there's so many trilogy songs that absolutely need to be played live that i don't give a fuck about hearing the old shit for the most part. disappearing boy was a nice addition to the set list a few nights ago though. but yeah, i'm really hopeful they're going to ditch the "uniforms" this tour and just wear normal clothes They will keep playing those songs for people like me who have never been to a concert... They never know what show will be someone's "first" show and they can't just accomodate the people who have been to several concerts. They have to keep it balanced with old and new. The "secret" shows are their opportunities to branch out, although these last few shows have been relatively safe because they're getting back into the swing of things. Unfortunately, the band has so much material it's hard for them to squeeze enough stuff in to make everyone happy. That said, I wouldn't care if they didn't do the King for a Day/Shout thing, even though I've never seen it... Agreed, it's getting old. Nightlife will MORE THAN LIKELY be played tonight, as Lady Cobra is in Austin today for SXSW. Hopefully they do a Sex, Drugs, And Violence / Little Boy Named Train performance, as well as Dirty Rotten Bastards. I dunno, I can't see them playing Nightlife at their first big comeback show, since it wasn't really received that well, even within their fan base... a lot of scrutinizing eyes will be watching them as it is, since their last big public performance was iHeart.
alienlifeform Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Nightlife will MORE THAN LIKELY be played tonight, as Lady Cobra is in Austin today for SXSW. let's hope not GD has dozen of better songs that deserve to be played instead of Nightlife
InvaderPhantom Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Do they remember that Jaded is supposed to come after Brain Stew and not St. Jimmy? Instead of playing Brain Stew/Jaded and Are We the Waiting/St. Jimmy they do Brain Stew/St. Jimmy now, which is actually a pretty good idea to save time for other songs but still have the setlist essentials Brain Stew and St. Jimmy in. I'm going to miss Are We the Waiting though... I've never seen it live, I'm sure it's amazing because that songs was just made for arenas.
AlissaGoesRAWR Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 I'm going to miss Are We the Waiting though... I've never seen it live, I'm sure it's amazing because that songs was just made for arenas. I wish I could have seen that live. Such a beautiful song. I could do without Brain Stew if I got that in its place.
inthehallwaynow Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 They did?! I must see this footage! its on the page before this, done with an iphone probably.. its not the worst audio
NaughtyHellGod Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 As long as wild One and Fell for you are played I am happy for any other song to be played. I would include Lazy bones but I doubt it that it will ever be played live.
Tommy's Tonsils Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 agreed with all of this. do they really need to play longview, basketcase, when i come around and possibly either burnout or coming clean at every show? Yes. (I'd enjoy it, anyway) I think most of the issues with their setlists these days is that they don't know how to have a good balance of newer songs (American Idiot forward) vs. older songs.
nothing_wrong_with_me Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 I think they should just play the songs that they love and not care about what people want to hear because everyone wants to hear something else... They can't satisfy everyone. I don't want them to play some songs only because they have a feeling that they have to play them. I want them to play the songs that they really love to play.
DannyDirnt Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 I remember someone saying that they might not want to play Lazy Bones because of its reference to alcohol and drugs. Well, just wanted to say I highly doubt they wouldn't play it for that reason because if that was something they cared about they wouldn't have played Jesus of Suburbia or Hitchin' a Ride either.
