CemeteryDrive Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 I really would love to hear Only of You... And ALL of the new songs! I'm excited to hear how they sound live
Mar Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 I see Nuclear Family as more of a middle-setlist song. I think the best opener would be Oh Love. I think it's a nice song that first better in the beggining of the concert, to spice up the crowd with a soft sing-along song. Or maybe See You Tonight, but I'd rather have Fuck Time be in the climax of the setlist. Preferably when it's supposed to be night time already. I actually don't think Nuclear Family would be that great an opener. I wonder if people think that just because it was the beginning of the trilogy, not because it would be the best. But see, with Fuck Time, I think it would be the perfect welcome song ... welcome! Thank you for joining us. Now, please watch as shit gets real and gross.

First post after fnally registering...anyway, I think that it might be really cool if they open their sets with Coming Clean (I know it's not about substance abuse, but the song could certainly be applicable to Billie's recent situation) with the final chorus lyric going "41 and coming clean for the first time...I've finally figured out myself for the first time". Then a quick follow-up into Nuclear Family. That would be quite the one-two punch to get the new shows started! I'm glad I've finally registered after a long time lurking. I had always posted under AP in the home page forums.
LisaBJA Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 I hope that they will play from the Trilogy :Dirty Rotten Bastards,X-Kid, Brutal Love, Fucktime, Lazy Bones, Let yourself go, Kill the DJ and also a lot of ohter songs like: Jesus of Suburbia, East Jesus Nowhere, She's a Rebel, Longview, Basket Case,.... and HOPEFULLY KING FOR A DAY that would be awesome
nothing_wrong_with_me Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 I've been thinking recently about the song Hitchin A Ride... They played it at almost every concert, but now, considering the meaning of this song, I think they won't play it any more... It's a shame because musically it's a really good song.. But I don't think it would be good for Billie to sing it.
AndrewW91 Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 I don't think they need to, or will omit songs because of drug/alcohol references. That'd be redonkulous.

Andrew Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 I don't think they need to, or will omit songs because of drug/alcohol references. That'd be redonkulous. They would have to lose the name Green Day as well if they were getting rid of all drug references!
AndrewW91 Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 They would have to lose the name Green Day as well if they were getting rid of all drug references! They sure would!
LisaBJA Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 I hope that Billie Joe will do stage-dive or go through the crowd That would be awesome
Forever Now Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 It was a real crowd shocker when they played 409 in your coffemaker at Irving plaza! They are unpredictable live. hope to hear a lot of old and new stuff!!
The Grohl Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 I would loooooooooooooove to hear "Going to Pasalaqua" it's one of my favorite songs!
shakerattleandroll Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 I don't know if this has been mentioned yet since I don't have time to read through all of this, but who do you think will be playing the epic guitar solo if/when they play Dirty Rotten Bastards? Personally, I would like to see Billie play it, or at least have Jason play it sometimes and Billie play it the other times. Realistically, I think Jason will be playing it. obviously mike will be playing it
Andrew Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 I would loooooooooooooove to hear "Going to Pasalaqua" it's one of my favorite songs! I loved it when they played it at Shephard's Bush last year, made me like the song even more. Not sure they will carry on playing it this tour though, if they do carry on playing some oldies they will probably change the ones they do.
ZSebs Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 obviously mike will be playing it Ohohoho I see what you did there
jacknovella Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 I'd definitely love to hear some oldies as you all have said...I just hope they pick a varied mix of the trilogy songs and that they continue to put on the fucking amazing spectacle of a show that they have in the past. It's Green Day though, so I have no doubt in my mind that they will
dirnt286 Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Hoping for stuff off Tre, like Missing You, X-Kid and Brutal Love in the encore.
HolyHandGrenade Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Not going to happen but I'd love for only rare songs or b-sides in addition to the trilogy stuff. Lights Out, Cigarettes and Valentines, Maria, Too Much Too Soon, Ha Ha You're Dead, etc...
nothing_wrong_with_me Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Hoping for stuff off Tre, like Missing You, X-Kid and Brutal Love in the encore. yes, Brutal Love would be so awesome! I'm addicted to that song, I really hope they'll sing it live.
Cath Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Not going to happen but I'd love for only rare songs or b-sides in addition to the trilogy stuff. Lights Out, Cigarettes and Valentines, Maria, Too Much Too Soon, Ha Ha You're Dead, etc... Cigarettes & Valentines would be awesome.
JOE THE X-KID Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Tight wad Hill, panic song, westbound sign, stuart and the ave, having a blast....please Green Day i beg of you!!!!
The Grohl Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 I still have no idea what to expect. I just know it's gonna be awesome.
GuitarPunk94 Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Tight wad Hill, panic song, westbound sign, stuart and the ave, having a blast....please Green Day i beg of you!!!! haha i requested westbound sign at the promo tour for the trilogy but billie only shook his head like he wants to tell that he doesnt want to play this song for some reason or is not able to play it
TimmyChunks Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 haha i requested westbound sign at the promo tour for the trilogy but billie only shook his head like he wants to tell that he doesnt want to play this song for some reason or is not able to play it I've always wanted to be picked to be pulled up on stage to play guitar- I would play the part that I'd be picked for (in previous tours it would have been Knowledge or JOS, for example), and at the end of the song I would have busted into the opening of Westbound Sign. I've always wanted to see it and they've never played it live to my knowledge (pun not intended!). I wonder how they'd react if a fan did something like that. Also, I wonder what they'll do from a fan participation standpoint. Last tour it was obviously having the fans sing Longview as well as come up on stage during 2KLYA. I wonder what they'll do this time?
InvaderPhantom Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 I don't think they'll omit a song like Hitchin a Ride from their setlist just because of its alcohol references. Or even worse, changing the lyrics to censor themselves. Hitchin a Ride is a song Billie wrote at a certain time in his life and ignoring or sugarcoating this time would be stupid. Also I would be very sad if Lazy Bones won't be a setlist regular for the upcoming tour. Also, they still play Basket Case even though Billie doesn't get panic attacks anymore.
