Mar Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 Unfortunately, Good Riddance is, arguably, one of the most recognized songs in the world. No way they could leave it out.

Raven93 Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 What are the odds that Green Day will play 21st Century Breakdown on this tour ? If they are gonna do it I think the intro will not be there

lespaulguy869 Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 PERSONALLY (which I guess all these posts are), I think they almost overdid the "old school songs" section of the set last tour. Yeah, it was awesome to see those songs, yeah, it was one of the best concerts I've ever been too, but I would be SO dissappointed this time around if the "big exciting surprise old songs" were all from kerplunk, 29 sosh, and dookie AGAIN. I second whoever it was earlier that said Insomniac-Warning era songs would be really awesome for this tour as the surprise old stuff. But. Please. Don't kill what love we have left for 2000 lightyears away, fod, burnout, jar, and paper lanterns any more. We expect these now and it gets pretty sad when the show ends and what should have been the highlight turned out to just be the same surprises from the night before. Rotating set would be so perfect. They have more than enough songs, including trilogy stuff, to make an amazing set list every night, even if they only repeated like five of those staple songs. And a full band encore would be sick also. YES, Billie's solo encores are classic and awesome and provided some of the best material last tour. But. I can't imagine what it would be like if Green Day actually did the traditional, super big, super loud encore that every other band does. I know that wishing they would do something the same as every other band doesn't sound like such a favorable idea, but (bear with me) ....I just saw Muse a couple weeks ago from the front of the pit at Staples Center. Their encore was so massive and incredible and loud and everything you could possibly want from the end of a concert. It was just so satisfying. I can only dream about what kind of full encore Green Day could have this tour. Fingers crossed. But. If they do just keep doing billie-only encores. I might cry if he went back to playing Good Riddance on his electric. I would die from happiness on the spot. k thats all bye
DannyDirnt Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 I'd rather have mixed 39-Warning oldies. For example: Brat, Walking Contradiction, Going to Pasalacqua, Nice Guys Finish Last, Words I Might Have Ate (full band), Jackass, Warning, Paper Lanterns, Welcome to Paradise, Hitchin' A Ride, Longview, Who Wrote Holden Caulfield, Basket Case... Something totally random and mixed like that. They should have as less staples as possible.
Met Fan Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 My best case scenario is a display of confidence in the new material resembles that of the American Idiot tour. You even have enough material for the whole duration of the show this time so you can just go out and play the full 3 albums live at every show and if that's too long then alternate songs across the tour but make it a theme through out that you are not playing any old songs, just for this tour.
ThiagoMN Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 I hope they take a page from Pearl Jam's and Bruce Springsteen's book on concerts and just change the setlist a lot from show to show. Don't get me wrong, I love Green Day concerts. Been to 9 so far. But they can get very repetitive. Examples for me were the two tours they did in Brazil (1998 and 2010)...both tours had four shows each and I went to all of them...by the third show you know exactly what's gonna happen. They change the setlist very little from show to show. The band certainly has enough records to play a bunch of different songs every night, so just go up there and do the unexpected night after night. I think the fans would love that. I certainly would!!!
J&TheNight Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 I too hope for a rotating setlist, that would be ideal. As someone who has yet to see this band live, I can only beg the Greek Gods to gift us with a Live DVD from this batch (cinco?) and that it contains songs from post Dookie-Now. I'm a bit tired of the "classics".
HolyHandGrenade Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 If they play Welcome to Paradise again, that "Paradise" will last for about 2 seconds. Please, something new! Here's an idea - Mike, Tre, and Jason come on and start playing Panic Song. The crowd gets pumped from the awesome bass for two minutes. Then Billie Joe appears and starts singing, and everyone goes nuts. That would make my day.

HolyHandGrenade Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Is it weird that I salivated at this idea? No. That's why they'll play Makeout Party afterwards.
justagrouch Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 I've never been to a Green Day concert, but I just expect it to be fucking awesome!!!!!
fatherotti Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 No big intros or nothing. Just the band walking out, joking around and getting into song. Like in the old days or open with X-Kid as it has the build up intro.
yuan Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 everything from the new albums and less hey-ohh
stich Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 I'm hoping they didn't drop JOS just like they did in 2012
tubbyfox Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Whilst Welcome to Paradise is a great opener, I think Nuclear Family would be great and See You Tonight/Fuck Time would be awesome! Oh I don't care, I just can't wait.
DannyDirnt Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 I see Nuclear Family as more of a middle-setlist song. I think the best opener would be Oh Love. I think it's a nice song that first better in the beggining of the concert, to spice up the crowd with a soft sing-along song. Or maybe See You Tonight, but I'd rather have Fuck Time be in the climax of the setlist. Preferably when it's supposed to be night time already.
Jon Benjamin Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 I'm hoping they didn't drop JOS just like they did in 2012 I was worried about that too but 2012 shows were mostly new songs for promo and the rest was pretty random and it wasnt their usual length except Irving plaza
Charlie Boston Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 I've never been to a Green Day concert, but I just expect it to be fucking awesome!!!!! Just wait, it will be the best experience of your life! Even better than losing your virginity..
Jet Taman Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Open up with "nuclear Family" but the opening guitar riff will be much longer and really build up for the grand entrance of Billie. Bunch of songs from the trilogy, peppered with songs throughout the rest of their discography. Not as many from the Lookout! days. I think they'll do their encore and finish the night with "99 Revolutions" and Billie Joe will pull people up on stage at the end of the song to go crazy and sing along as the whole crowd chants along "99 Revolutions Tonight!!!" I do wonder, however, what song he'll have people come up and play/sing....

may10 Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 I really would looove if they played Are We the Waiting cause in Bullet In A Bible it looked like a magical moment for everyone other than that I think its gonna be awsome and I'm excited!
DannyDirnt Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Grand entrance for Billie? I'd prefer they entered together, mainly because all Green Day members are supposed to be equally important so I don't think Billie should have a bigger entrance. Maybe for their next show because it's like 'Look guys, I'm back!' but that's all.
may10 Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 What if they pull some girl on stage to sing the girl parts IF they play Nightlife?that would be so awsome
