DannyDirnt Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 On the "Hey Oh"s I'm gonna say I'd prefer than Billie stopped doing that. Billie's trademark? Sure, but it's very time consuming. In 90s he had other ways of making the public participate a bit. If I'm at a Green Day concert, I don't think what I really wanna do is say 'hey oh' with Billie Joe. They're not THAT annoying, but I'd rather have Billie stop doing them. At least that incredibly often. Around 2000 he did them sometimes, but not all the freaking time like he does now.
Tubbie Head Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 The hey oh's irritate me when I watch videos of shows but honestly whenever I'm actually at a concert they don't bother me at all. The Hey-Ohs have never bothered me! XD At concerts it's really fun!
musso_kn Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 My bigget expectation - or rather, hope - is that they actually play at a venue near me.
Clayish Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 People are complaining about the "hey ohs" wow, this forum is becoming wack.
w00t932 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 I can imagine "Wow,That's Loud!" being a great opener. I can imagine the band coming on stage, the crowd cheering, the Billie playing the opening riff and the crowd going insane.
Annie, get your gun Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 But they are Billie's trademark, you can't get rid of them. I know, I didn't say he should stop doing it ...but you know, sometimes when it's too repetitive it gets on my nerves
DannyDirnt Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 I can imagine "Wow,That's Loud!" being a great opener. I can imagine the band coming on stage, the crowd cheering, the Billie playing the opening riff and the crowd going insane. Actually, that's a very good idea! I hope they do that. Thinking about it, the best openings I can think of are all on ¡Dos!
Tubbie Head Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 I think Nuclear Family would also be a good opener! And it might be...
Clayish Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 I think Nuclear Family would also be a good opener! And it might be... I can guarantee it's Nuclear Family or Welcome To Paradise.
AfterShock Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 I can guarantee it's Nuclear Family or Welcome To Paradise. Yep, I would be shocked if it's anything other than one of these.
Clockwise Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 I hope it's Nuclear Family, as much as Welcome To Paradise is perfect, I really want a new song to open, and Nuclear Family is perfect for that.
Mar Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Ugh kill me if they play Wow! That's Loud. Because it's so fucking loud, it hurts my ears I still expect a See You Tonight/Fuck Time opener tbh
spark in the night Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 I expect them to have the most energy and raw power than what they've had on any other tour. They've been sitting around for too long. Time to unleash the power and rock our faces off. Or they'll end up being schlumpy and disappointing because they realized they are becoming old stinky farts. I hope for the power unleashing
GuitarPunk94 Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 since it will be the uno-dos-tre-tour im very sure they will open with Nuclear Family...the opening during the 21CB tours was kinda lame..i enjoyed the opening with WTP at the promo show in germany much more
DannyDirnt Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 I don't think Nuclear Family will be an opener, because it's always been in the middle of the setlist in their recest shows. Also, there are better openers in the trilogy.
Speechless & Redundant Posted February 1, 2013 Author Posted February 1, 2013 I don't think Nuclear Family will be an opener, because it's always been in the middle of the setlist in their recest shows. Also, there are better openers in the trilogy. (begging): Please BJ let it be Brutal Love, please BJ let it be Brutal Love
Tubbie Head Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 I still expect a See You Tonight/Fuck Time opener tbh I can see that happening. Much like Song of the Century + 21stCBD
Whatsinaname Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 I agree, I think See You Tonight will open, just like you said. Followed by FuckTime. After that I have no idea what will happen! I have watched every concert on youtube, this will be my first GD concert live. It just may be, something we don't expect? I'm so excited to see the first show of the tour in Chicago!
Clayish Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Fuck Time would be such a bad intro. It's going to be Nuclear Family or Welcome to Paradise, both perfect choices.
Whatsinaname Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Nucclear Family...I live these lyrics. As much as I hope If they open with Welcome to Paradise, maybe it's time for a change?
tdlyon Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 I really hope it's Nuclear Family. "Gonna ride the world like a merry-go-round" is an awesome line to start a concert.
Marrymebilliejoe Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 I don't want to have any "expectations" because it seems like those lead to disappointment, however 1) if they DON'T do the "hey, oh's" it shall no longer be considered a Green Day concert. It really is their trademark. And yeah, it's predictable. But don't tell me you don't "hey, oh" back to Billie. and 2) I really hope they still have *some* fan participation. Those few moments where Billie pulls someone on stage can really change someone's life!..I know it would change mine..a girl can only dream!
Jon Benjamin Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 I agree, I think See You Tonight will open, just like you said. Followed by FuckTime. After that I have no idea what will happen! I have watched every concert on youtube, this will be my first GD concert live. It just may be, something we don't expect? I'm so excited to see the first show of the tour in Chicago! I'm in the exact same situation as you. Hopefully that'll be a great show, it's our first and their first back.
Overjoyyed Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Ugh kill me if they play Wow! That's Loud. Because it's so fucking loud, it hurts my ears I still expect a See You Tonight/Fuck Time opener tbh that would actually be epic if they open with fuck time.
Shes_A_Rebel13 Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 I want some shows for the West Coast DX gd said a West Coast tour was coming... But is it? I just hate how they abandoned SoCal :'( Anyways, I really hope Green Day can pull off the same enthusiasm they had a couple years ago I haven't been to a concert before and I'm super excited!
