He happened to be born while his parents were visiting family in Kent. He spent all of his childhood (except that one day, on which he happened to be born ) in Ireland. Maybe Brit by birth but Irish in heart. I would feel pretty fucked if my parents were visiting England the one day I was born while they were actually living in Ireland xD Shane's autobiography is worth a read!
