WhiteTim Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Call BS on it all you want. I was blown away too. I don't know if they special ordered it or what. Or if maybe they went and bought one from Hot Topic and just put it on the shelf? AAF was a Double Gatefold and a limited colored vinyl as opposed to a 2 sided single LP like the trilogy was. Two of the AAF copies they had in stock came with the T-shirt too if I recall. I got lithographs with all three trilogy LPs as I picked them up. Cactus even went as far as to give me 2 of each. Plus two sets of guitar picks when I picked up Dos. For only $24 per visit over the course of four months it seems more than reasonable. Plus the massive poster I got from their window when Uno came out. Cactus is ok. I don't care for their selection of music outside of Green Day. They were selling the Iron Maiden picture discs for $40 a piece. More than excessive but I think that's what keep places like that afloat in this economy. I'm more of a Black, Death, Thrash metal kind of guy anyways. It's not like I spend much time inside hipster joints apart from a few specific reasons. In this case Green Day. One thing I hate about Houston now is lack of music stores in the 90's more options but my issue with Catcus is the over pricing on items if you don't get there first week plus the snobiness of the employees i got in a argument last year with one employee who wanted to pipe in with the "you really want to buy this? This cd sucks why dont you get this band instead" if i trusted on line buying more it'd be so much easier

But I live all the way out towards Kinwood/Humble so I rarely go out that way. I was only doing it to save $7 or $8 on shipping for the Green Day trilogy. I guess I paid in gas so I don't know. I think that's just the record collector crowd in general. They tend to be really snarky if you don't agree 100% with their musical interests. I write for an underground Black/Death metal zine so my contact with the "Cactus" crowd is very, very limited.

tuxedomarty Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 1000? Are you shitting me? Da hell man!
jake7722 Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Has anyone's shipped yet? Mine is still processing... I'm getting a little worried Mine hasn't shipped either....
lbw87 Posted February 20, 2013 Author Posted February 20, 2013 mine says 'fullfilling order' but shows a tracking number. hmmm
jake7722 Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 mine says 'fullfilling order' but shows a tracking number. hmmm I just called Hot Topic customer service. They explained to me that the "fullfilling order" thing means that they are packaging the vinyl. The guy also told me that most orders that were placed on Monday will be shipped tomorrow.
J&TheNight Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Finally just ordered mine! about damn time. Also, on a discussion on here from earlier, I don't see using "blame our capitalist government" as a valid reason to be an asshole for selling the record for $100. I don't blame the guy for jacking the price up a bit ( I sold a single Yu-Gi-Oh card for over $100!) but that doesn't mean he's not an asshole. Also, it was really fucking stupid of anyone to get them on Ebay this early before it was even up on the site. Really, Dos was still up (and may still be at the moment) just a day or so ago. I was worried myself about not getting this album, but worried enough to pay 3 times it's original amount? Don't blame the capitalist society, blame the people who are insane enough about a vinyl to pay that much for it. Still, I'm pretty excited to finally be able to order mine. I was a bit worried, but it worked out after all.
WhiteTim Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 It was already up on the site but HT eithet had server problems or something where it let people order it then hours later send an email saying it was sold out a problem that Uno or Dos didnt have

It was surprising that this particular error occured, but I knew to just sit tight. In fact, I had confirmation from the vinyl manager at Hot Topic to just sit tight and wait. the other 2 did have some crazy ass problems as well, just not that one in particular ;p
Sarahnade Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Let's just all breathe a collective sigh of relief, knowing that we won't have to deal with Hot Topic for awhile after this.

I wouldn't have that's for sure.Let's just all breathe a collective sigh of relief, knowing that we won't have to deal with Hot Topic for awhile after this. Actually.... >_> they're releasing MORE Green Day collectible vinyls so... we have AI down the road and a few more. I believe another Dookie pressing as well.

Some of the prices I've paid for some of my Nirvana vinyls was high as hell Most I ever paid was for a first pressing of the 45 of The Beatle's Penny Lane

Whatsinaname Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 All I have to say, right now, is thank you to all on this thread! I have not received any cancellation email...so I'm looking for the delivery! HT did say 2-6 days....for delivery. My first GD concert 03/28/13. I would love to get my vinyls signed! How awesome that would be!
SuperXCsabre495 Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 How have I not gotten the shipping notification yet???? I swear to god if mine doesn't ship...
Whatsinaname Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Just now recieived an email....my order has been shipped!! I will keep you updated when I actually receive it!
BillieJoe1972 Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 I'm still waiting for an email saying mine was shipped. I feel better knowing that some of you have received your "shipped" emails. At least no one is getting the dreaded "sold out" email (at least none that I've heard about). I'll feel so much better when I have this album in my hands and know my trilogy is complete.
Whatsinaname Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Me too, I won't believe it until it's delivered. I don't like that is being shipped via USPS. Like it's going to fit in my mail box! I have a tracking order number...I think this is for real now!
