Sarcasm Posted December 26, 2012 Posted December 26, 2012 maybe we can have another shennanigans type album that's kind of what the trilogy is. Tons of music put on CD's with no grandiose theme.
Tubbie Head Posted December 26, 2012 Posted December 26, 2012 I really want proper b-sides this time!
alienlifeform Posted December 26, 2012 Posted December 26, 2012 that's kind of what the trilogy is. Tons of music put on CD's with no grandiose theme. thinking this way.. any GD album would be a Shenanigans one, except AI and 21st so I disagree
Sarcasm Posted December 26, 2012 Posted December 26, 2012 thinking this way.. any GD album would be a Shenanigans one, except AI and 21st so I disagreeWell shenanigans also had a great deal of covers, but I see your point, a CD with the "leftovers". Not really something I desire right after getting this much music, a compilation of b sides and scrapped songs would be overkill imo.
Rogankiwifruit Posted January 3, 2013 Author Posted January 3, 2013 monster mash as a b-side, brilliant i have a few recodings and yes i thougth it would be a good bouns track
Spoopy Doo Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Jesus Christ, please know what a b-side is before using the word on every damn song you hear about! Agreed. Wouldn't these be outtakes?
HolyHandGrenade Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 that's kind of what the trilogy is. Tons of music put on CD's with no grandiose theme. It's not like Green Day had any themes to begin with, minus the last two. I would say that the trilogy actually has a stronger unity than their other usual LP's because of how they sorted the songs - the sex drugs and violence theme works for Uno, Dos, and Tre, as well as the idea of Uno being Carpe Diem themed, Dos a midlife crisis, and Tre a return to reality.

HolyHandGrenade Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 thanks for quoting this about 4 months old post You are very welcome I could go back even further, eh? Find some band's thread that's been inactive for 5 years and quote a member who hasn't posted in months
TheNimrod51 Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 The last picture looks like the setlist for the NYC Halloween show back in 2011.
Insomniac1984 Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 What about the radio edits??? Especially this one for Kill the DJ? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0irffBGuKew
spark in the night Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 lol B-sides. What are those. If you look at the setlist from the tour, the whole trilogy is a fucking B-side.
Jon Benjamin Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 I really wanna see state of shock, Gabriella, dreamcatcher, oh girl, satellite, and I'm alright released. Especially dreamcatcher that song is great.
JOE THE X-KID Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 Wasn't there one called "life's so plain" or something, i think that's such a cool name for a song
Todd Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Wasn't there one called "life's so plain" or something, i think that's such a cool name for a song Yep! Life Is So Plain
Certified Nimrod Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 i have a few recodings and yes i thougth it would be a good bouns track Can you upload?
Jack Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 goodbye to romance is an ozzy song, state of shock is labeled as "last gang" which means that it is rusty james. case closed on those tunes. Nope, State Of Shock is its own song. There's a recording of it from the Tiki Bar show.
Letterbomb44 Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Nah. He's constantly writing. He wrote the whole time he was on Broadway, he wrote while they were on tour for 21CB. It's not hard to think he's capable of writing more than 40 songs over 2.5 years. As a writer myself that's true I go through a whole month a write sometimes 15 20 songs some decent some bad but it's just time and inspiration really and things you wanna express that you've never been able to which seems like these records alot of unexpressed angst and frustration but happy times. Probably why this band can still connect with young punks.
Hero_Of_The_Hour Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Haha this thread is giving me a headache! Andres is one of the few making sense. Of course Billie is capable of writing tonnes of songs over a two-three year period and he said on Cuatro that he had what 65 or something so what is the point in looking at those pictures/screenshots and guessing what song became what/was scrapped/may be sitting somewhere...waiting! As others have said most of those have been renamed eg Fell For Snoo and Soda Pop Curtis etc while others may have been scrapped but it doesn't matter because you can multiply the number of songs on the trilogy nearly x2 to get how many songs Billie actually wrote but still none of this means we will get anything more. Remember we just got three records and the guys have been through a lot of shit so Im not expecting anything further eg b-sides (remember we didn't even get regular singles/videos really with each album this time). I would love to be happily suprised someday with an announcement...I just don't see it happening.
Rogankiwifruit Posted June 29, 2013 Author Posted June 29, 2013 Can you upload? im not sure if i can, there thinking about a bside cd of uno/dos/tre last i herd.
Certified Nimrod Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 im not sure if i can, there thinking about a bside cd of uno/dos/tre last i herd. Who's thinking of it? Green Day?
Todd Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 im not sure if i can, there thinking about a bside cd of uno/dos/tre last i herd. You haven't been on in ages. Where are you hearing this? There haven't been any b-sides released at all. B-Sides are from singles, and all the singles so far are 1-track singles. There is no reputable source to even suggest such a CD yet. Yes, Green Day said everything gets released eventually, but that doesn't mean a cd is coming out anytime soon
watchmefade92 Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 They could've released some if they wanted to. They could've put some real b-sides on the Oh Love EP (or the European CD single which had the studio version of "American Idiot" as a "b-side"). But for a certain reason, they didn't and I respect that (even though it'd be really cool if we got something one day, of course).
