Kitty Purry Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 HAHAHAHHAHAHA I'M JUST DYING AT THE COMMENTS!!! (I didnt even watch it but I dont think I need to )
Bloody Mascara Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Guys the point of the video is so you can focus on the music, not some huge theatrical video. Appreciate some minimalism every now and then, would you? you could always, idk, listen to the song with absolutely no visuals whatsoever and appreciate it. oh wait, that's what we've been doing the 400 other times we've listened to the album. my b.
BillieJoeObsesser Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 I like the cassette idea. It's very rad and unique way to just listen to the music, but I didn't think this was the official video for X-Kid.
Akshat Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Green Day is playing mindgames with us.I hate it when people play games with me
Cob Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 you could always, idk, listen to the song with absolutely no visuals whatsoever and appreciate it. oh wait, that's what we've been doing the 400 other times we've listened to the album. my b. Its a way to promote and get people who check out singles on YouTube and other stuff. It's not meant for fans. The 36 other songs, on the other had, are.
Tabeeb Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 BEST FUCKING MUSIC VIDEO ON THE FUCKING PLANET OF FUCKING. But on a serious note, I think that was really great, what they did. Since it's the official channel, more people could watch it and not worry about it being taken down. If someone were to type in Green Day into the Youtube search this would be one of the first one's to appear since it's new and that would be great because this song is really great. The hilarious anti-video would make them want to watch it again, share it with their friends and who knows, maybe we might get a new Green Day fan? xD I really don't care if this is the official video or not, if it is, that's great. If it's isn't, then well, there's always that to look forward to. I really hope that the official one, if this isn't, actually has a very good video to it.
VisionsofGreenDay115 Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 If this means X-Kid is the next single, I will ejaculate in my pants. Only because after listening to X-Kid, it became my second favorite Green Day song behind Jesus of Suburbia. I'm making a video for this song for my senior project at school too.
kerplunkerr Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 It has different "sounds" like sometimes it sounds closer but the highlight of the video was the end when the tape started to run
The Snark Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 I can't stop watching it...it's so hypnotizing. I feel like I'm a bored kid again, laying on my bed and listening to my walkman for hours.
StuckWithInsomnia Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Well, this is far better than the Walking Contradiction video
Gwen Stacy Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 I really like the understated minimalism of it. I feel like it's the anti-music video, sort of a slap at MTV. Or I could be over-analyzing it.
deadair Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 If that is the "official" video, it is a sad joke. I understand for Billie's health that a real video would not be in the cards right now, but I would have much rather waited several months for something suitable or fitted better to the song. This is like the disaster of a video (and mind-boggling enough VMA winner) that Coldplay made for their song Paradise. This is such an anti-video fuck you to MTV and I fucking love it! I don't see how this is anti-MTV? It's just a cassette rolling. Besides they rocked the VMAs 2009 and 2012. They were the only rock band on the VMAs this year. If they were anti-MTV they wouldn't have shown up as it would have shown how rockless MTV has become, a far cry from its original self.
Bastard of 1967 Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Jeez, the guys troll us again and SOOOOO much bitching.....
Akshat Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Actually, Green Day trolled us pretty bad.i HATE THOSE PEOPLE.
yuan Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 okay, after seeing the actual video rather than just a pic of first impression, i gotta say that's better than some of music videos green day has put out.
ANJI Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Interesting! It's very different and gotta admit, better than lyric videos...but no seriously, i'm hoping for a real music video.
No Future Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Coming soon in your cinema: Green Day in Concert. The only thing you see is a cassette playing live music of them.
tvrman Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Its a way to promote and get people who check out singles on YouTube and other stuff. Exactly. Warner are trying to keep traction going for the Trilogy/started for Tre across social media sites. Obviously a video is not possible because of Billie's situation and/or the xmas period. I think the fact that they chose X-Kid means it will NOT be the next single. X-Kid is my favourite track on Tre, but I think Missing You will be a better choice for the next release.
Nikkilite Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 I don't know what to say actually xD But as others have said, i don't think its the official video.. they're just joking around IF this really is the official video.. Well, i'm a little disapointed then. This song is really one of the best in the whole trilogy! So i think it needs a more powerful video.. Would have fitted to another song maybe, but X-kid? Naah... Great joke Green Day
Akshat Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 wow Uno just moved to #87 from #135 last week and #189 the week before. Now isnt that amazing. Also Dos moved from #79 to #71 and tre debuted at #13.The biggest surprise here is THE FORGOTTEN(NOT THE SINGLE, THE ALBUM CLEAN VERSION) is on #11 on japan hot 100.Wow this was a good day for Green Day as far as the charts are conserned!!
bat-chen Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 The comments are so funny I love the that they using caste and not Ipod
VisionsofGreenDay115 Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Its like the studio videos we saw in the spring all over again. They're literally, "fucking with our heads now."
