So, What Happens Next?

I think they're going to take a HUGE break (at least 4-5 years, so around the same amount of time between AI and 21st CB) Obviously, I think a tour will take up the better part of 2 years and after, just a rest, they're in desperate need of some down time. So, slow progress will slolwly ensue on a new album, and I look forward to whatever they bring to us next :D

However, as much as I hate to say this, I think they're going to call it a day after the next one....:'(

They're still really young, though. :ermm: I mean, look at The Who, Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, etc. They may slow things down a bit, but I don't think they'll ever stop making music.

It'd be so cool if I'm gonna be able to take my future kids to a Green Day show.

I'm not sure, though.

While they make take a rest, I don't believe they'll call it quits anytime soon!

That's my big dream xD

They better be, because that's my intention too

Start it at an early age :P

Billie Joe is going to pursue his life long dream of being a fry cook at the Krusty Krab for a Mr Eugene Krabs

That's not fair, you've got 6 years ahead from me :( I'd have to pull a "16 and pregnant" off :P

Oh well. taking my 5 year old niece with me when she's old enough is probably cool too.

actually I've got two nieces. But the other one's already a belieber, so it's too late for her. NOOOOO dear god why? Bless this lost soul. Thx.

it's silly of you to think even Billie can replace spongebob!!

Based on what's happened to Billie, and the things that are going on through his social media, I'm predicting their next album, which might be sooner than we think, to be very dark, possibly aggressive; and it's very likely to be guitar/bass driven music and maybe less melodic.

I honestly wouldn't mind a full album with songs like lazy bones.

I think it would awesome to see Green Day release an album that had no songs, the entire album was just one long continuous song.

...no.

Has anyone ever done that?

People would just split them anyway though.

Honestly I don't see them being in the position to experiment that much with the next album. Otherwise they'll sink into the nirvana.

Maybe even worse than warning, who knows?

I'm sure some artist at some point has. Sure people would split them but in a way it would be like splitting up Jesus of Suburbia of Dirty Rotten Bastards, you could do it but it would lose its effect. Just an idea that popped into my head the other day as an interesting concept

I'm not talking Lazy Bones, I'm talking Insomniac.

Half of the Beatles album Abbey Road consists entirely of medleys that are composed of song snippets and jams, to the point where they melt into one big song.

I would not mind if they did another Dirty Rotten Bastards, but that's entirely up to them; otherwise I'm fine with the one medley we've been given.

I don't see why people call Insomniac dark. Sure, it's more serious than Dookie, but nothing stands out to me as "Dark", except for maybe Jaded and Brain Stew, but other than that I don't know why it's labeled as "dark"

86 , Bab's Uvula Who , No Pride, Panic Song ... blah blah etc etc

Green Day's Panic Song:

Ready for a cheap escape

On the brink of self destruction

Widespread panic

Broken glass inside my head

Bleeding down these thoughts of

Anguish... mass confusion

The world is a sick machine

Breeding a mass of shit

With such a desolate conclusion

Fill the void with... I don't care

There's a plague inside of me

Eating at my disposition

Nothing's left

Torn out of reality

Into a state of no opinion

Limp with hate

The world is a sick machine

Breeding a mass of shit

With such a desolate conclusion

Fill the void with... I don't care

I wanna jump out

Insomniac is probably their most negative, most depressing, and darkest work. It's not menacing like Reject, Loss of Control, Baby Eyes, or Ashley, but it's not a sugarcane field that's for sure.

Panic song is one of my favorites off the album so I know the words. l guess dark and serious can be used interchangeably so I guess I understand what you mean.

Oh god, I feel like its so early to be talking about what they'll do after this! One step at a time. First, Billie will continue to get better. Then, once the band is ready and able, they'll get back on tour again. Since they announced a May 29th European show, I'm thinking they will likely START the tour in Europe and come back here next fall. I mean, they haven't announced the US dates yet. At first I was really expecting April/May tour dates for the US, but I really don't see them touring here and then bouncing right over to the European tour with no break. I wouldn't want them to, either - that's a long time to be on the road.

Beyond that, who's to say? Touring and promotion takes up a lot of time, and that's what I'm focused on at the moment. As far as I'm concerned they're going to be around long enough for me to take my future kids to their shows, (they'd better be around, I'm planning on it!) so I'm not worried. :)

Whatever they make will be good.Even Uno Dos Tre was good.Had it been one album, we would'nt even be talking about how epic their next album must be.I love them for the variety they can provide in their music.NO OTHER ARTIST CAN DO THAT.I mean they have gone from politically fuelled rock operas to fun filled dance songs and even those about sex. They have covered almost all gentres, ska, punk, pop punk, hip hop, dance, ballads etc.I guess only thing left is r&b and I hope they dont do it

Haha it depends how long they can keep going on stage...I mean Billie still runs around like a 6 year old. There is hope for you yet!

You need to cleanse that poor young mind before it's too late! Take both of them ;)
