! Posted December 11, 2012 Author Posted December 11, 2012 I don't know exactly what I want, but Green Day always has a plan and always seems to know what's best. So, hopefully they will start touring again..I just want to see them back on stage where they belong!! The touring is inevitable. It's just a matter of when the guys themselves are going to confirm it.
Marrymebilliejoe Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 The touring is inevitable. It's just a matter of when the guys themselves are going to confirm it. I am just curious if they are just going to jump right into a tour when they come back or are they gonna do some talk shows and what not to show that they are back around..? Or none of the above and take a different path >.<
Jean Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 I'm just waiting for Billie to do an Osbournes style reality show. lol

Or none of the above and take a different path >.< I doubt that they will do talk shows because they don't really have the opportunity to promote the albums anymore, so I believe they will jump straight into a tour. I'm just waiting for Billie to do an Osbournes style reality show. lol Haha I don't think the Armstrong have enough quarky characters.
Cob Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 More albums, more tours. Honestly, I can't wait to see where they go next, I hope they go the way Tre has set them up, or wherever makes them happy and inspired. I have yet to see them live, so I'm definitely waiting for them to play more shows in the Bay Area/Northern California. I hope at some point we get to hear the songs left off the Trilogy, or we get to at least hear Cigarettes and Valentines. Maybe a live album of when they start touring again? Who knows. I really hope there is no American Idiot film. I don't why, but I just don't like the idea. That might just be me though, I understand that some people would want it made.
Josh100_3 Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 2014, it's tradition y'know. Dookie 1994, American Idiot 2004. American Idiot was so different from their previous work and that's why it became SO massive. 2014 album that is entirely acoustic with folk-y influences (frank turner?) DO IT!
East Hayzus Nowhere Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Well I'm guessing they're going to be pretty disappointed that they didn't get to enjoy the release of the trilogy the way they intended, and Billie's gonna be in an entirely new frame of mind and ready to write a new album with a totally different approach. Either that or Billie is mentally altered by rehab and doesn't feel like doing music anymore...lol yeah right.
Kathleen Quinn-Farber Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 I have two ideas that I think could be kind of cool. -Billie writes a concept album about his whole rehab experience. Like, literally about a rich and famous rockstar with a little-known substance addiction who has a meltdown in front of the world, then has to build himself back up. I think this could be amazing if done right. -They say "fuck popularity" and make the heaviest album of their careers. Like, a full album of fast punk rock songs in the vein of Platypus, Jaded, St. Jimmy, and the middle part of Dirty Rotten Bastards. This would be awesome as hell. Would probably never happen though. I LOVE the concept album idea!!!
PanicAttack! Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Back in 2009 Zane Lowe wrapped up the 'Abbey Road' interview with the comment "start thinking about the next one guys, cause now you have this huge act you gotta top". And as I thought then I now think "shut the hell up". iTRÉ! hasn't even been out worldwide for one single day, and you already talk about what's next. Hoping for the future is understandable, but nobody here is able to make a qualified guess about it, so it's just senseless speculation and wishful thinking. Excuse me, I'm gonna go listen to Green Day's 37 new songs.
Rusty Blue Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 I would like another The Network album but I'm not saying GD has something to do with them just saying I want another album XD
PleasedToMeetMe Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 It really sucks to hear people say things like "the trilogy was a mistake" or "they have to make an album in 2014 that's like American Idiot". The trilogy kicks so much ass, I can't imagine people listening to it and not being blown away. That being said, I hope the next LP takes the sound of the trilogy and narrows it down to about 14 songs.

iRun Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 37. 100. Better yet, release a new song for the rest of forever.
DannyDirnt Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 I hope they follow their path and bring us a new all-time hit in 2014 Just in case they don't, they still have to tour and then maybe they take a little break and carry on with a new album.
BlackBaboon Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 I've been wondering recently about the trilogy tour. Right now the albums aren't selling great and I'm not sure green day could fill a lot of stadiums if they start moving dates around and everything. I'm not sure what sort of tour we'll be seeing but if Billie has really been writing all throughout his rehabilitation period, he may not want to wait to turn those songs into full blown studio pieces. I'm not saying they won't tour for the trilogy because clearly they still plan to, but it might be more like mini tours and headlining festival gigs which would be cool too
Kitty Purry Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 I don't really care right now what they will do next music wise. I still have to digest the triology. I just can't wait for the tour I intend to watch them atleast 2 times. I just hope once gd gets back in the game the reporters won't just ask him about his rehab/treatment. Hopely his team are as good as kristen stewarts were cuz she had one of the biggest scandal this year and NO ONE has ask her about it. I was soo dissapointed  lol I'm such a hypocrite when it comes to other celebs.
Castr0 Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 I think after a "break" of fun music and a "don't give a fuck" atmosphere they will do the best album ever with 12, 13 songs .. It' will be great but I think it's too soon ^^
Pieces of Truth Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 I just hope once gd gets back in the game the reporters won't just ask him about his rehab/treatment. That's my "fear". Personally I wouldn't want to talk about it - I hope Billie'll be okay with it and it won't stress him too much.
Harry Potter. Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 Well, now that we know that Emily's Army is back in the studio, we could speculate on that. Maybe Billie is producing the record again? 37. 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000. Even better.

I was soo dissapointed  lol I'm such a hypocrite when it comes to other celebs. i think its is legitimate to ask billie about that. it was (is) an important phase of his life. maybe some green day fans want to cut out, that he has to struggle with issues? that he isn't perfect? imo it would be highly disappointing if billie becomes someone who says "no questions about that, or no interview". i would want to know if he got bettter and if he got better, he can be an inspiration for people who have to deal with similiar problems. sure, it shouldnt be something "billie joe: this interview reveals everything" in a shitty glamour magazine. if there are some professional questions about it, why not? that doesn't mean it has to be yellow-press shit...
IsaGreenDay Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 I'm just waiting to see their "comeback" gig, I think it will be something very very exciting! Like: We are back on the stages, so let's have the time of our lives! Something we won't NEVER forget! and stuff. And about the the would-be 2014 album I don't have any thoughts... I'm just trusting in their decisions. Also, I really liked to read some people's guesses, nice topic.

PigSniffingGlue Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 I have this feeling/ guess / my pancreas is telling me that they literally just took a break. As in, they stopped now, but when they're back they might start from where they stopped, film a video or two for Dos, some videos for Tré, and the promotion will go on as if nothing happened (though Billie is usually really open with the press, they better not ask to much questions about rehab, cuz baby baby I was born to kill them ) and some new people might get interested in the trilogy again of course they're gonna tour, probably a lot, so I guess the rest he's getting now is needed and will pay off for both him and the fans. I hope they're gonna make a new album in the next few years, but I don't wanna think about that now I trust them with whatever they'll do, and as they said good records are hard to make
Platypus2000 Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 I think they're going to take a HUGE break (at least 4-5 years, so around the same amount of time between AI and 21st CB) Obviously, I think a tour will take up the better part of 2 years and after, just a rest, they're in desperate need of some down time. So, slow progress will slolwly ensue on a new album, and I look forward to whatever they bring to us next However, as much as I hate to say this, I think they're going to call it a day after the next one....:'(
